Abstract

Pembentukan profil nikel laterit merupakan fungsi pelapukan batuan ultramafik yang dapat menyebabkan perubahan nilai properti keteknikan pada setiap zona profil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan korelasi mineralogi, sifat fisik, dan sifat mekanik terhadap derajat pelapukan pada setiap zona laterit. Penyusunan profil laterit ditentukan melalui deskripsi singkapan dan analisis kimia unsur menggunakan XRF. Batuan dasar diidentifikasi menggunakan analisis petrografi sayatan tipis. Analisis X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) digunakan untuk menentukan komposisi mineral penyusun profil laterit. Pengujian properti keteknikan mencakup uji indeks plastisitas, bobot isi, uji kuat tekan, dan uji kuat geser. Hubungan antara derajat pelapukan dan properti keteknikan dianalisis menggunakan fungsi regresi dan koefisien determinasi (R2). Daerah penelitian tersusun oleh dunit terserpentinisasi dan werlit terserpentinisasi. Profil nikel laterit berupa zona limonit, zona saprolit, dan batuan dasar. Zona limonit dan saprolit tersusun oleh lanau inorganik dengan plastisitas sedang hingga tinggi. Peningkatan derajat pelapukan berkorelasi positif dengan nilai indeks plastisitas, diikuti penurunan nilai bobot isi, kohesi, dan sudut geser dalam yang dinyatakan dalam fungsi regresi linear.

Abstract

Demolition of limestone fragments in quarries can cause slope stability issues. This study aims to identify the potential for rock failures and determine the probability of failures on three quarry slopes. The type of rock failures was identified using kinematics analysis. Determining the probability of failures is also required to accommodate the uncertainty of input parameters in the factor of safety calculation. The probability of failure was determined using the limit equilibrium method and chi-square tests to fit shear strength curves on the discontinuities. The Barton-Bandis criterion was used to determine the shear strength of the discontinuities. On the slopes, the discontinuity types are bedding, joint, and shear fractures. Kinematics analysis of slope-1 and slope-2 revealed the possibility of wedge failures with an occurrence probability ranging from 19.80 to 20.81%. On slope 3, a planar failure possibility with a 69.49% of occurrence probability was identified. Even though the kinematics analysis suggested the possibility of rock failures, the factor of safety on all three slopes was above the threshold (7.28 – 30.58) with probability of failure ranging from 0 – 6.14%. Based on sensitivity analysis, factor of safety is most influenced by changes in the bedding cohesion. Variations in groundwater recharge at discontinuities also influence the factor of safety and the probability of failures, particularly in planar failures. It is recommended to evaluate other types of rock failures, such as the potential of rockfalls.

Abstract

In order to meet the daily water needs of the Amohola Village community who currently rely on dug well water mixed with sediment and odor, community service has been carried out by the Mining Engineering Department of Halu Oleo University. The purpose of this service is to find clean water sources through groundwater exploration using the geoelectric method. Based on the results of groundwater measurements with the geoelectric method, it can be interpreted that the groundwater aquifer is located at a depth of 15-45 meters, with a low resistivity value of 371 ohm.m. This indicates that this groundwater layer can be considered a depressed aquifer, which is characterized by low resistivity. The low resistivity is likely caused by impermeable rock types such as clay around the aquifer. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the village government and community conduct groundwater drilling at a depth of 15 to 45 meters. By drilling at this depth, it is hoped that the Amohola Village community can gain access to a safer and higher quality clean water source for their daily needs. In the drilling process, it is also necessary to pay attention to technical and environmental factors to ensure the success of this project and preserve the local environment.

Abstract

Nikel dan Kobalt merupakan elemen penting dalam industri baterai listrik karena berperan sebagai bahan utama dalam pembuatan katoda baterai lithium-ion. Logam-logam ini umumnya ditemukan pada endapan bijih nikel laterit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi potensi nilai ekonomi dari kandungan nikel dan kobalt sebagai bahan baku baterai listrik pada endapan bijih nikel laterit milik PT. Rizqi Biokas Pratama yang berlokasi di Kabupaten Konawe Utara, Sulawesi Tenggara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif analitis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan nikel dan kobalt pada endapan nikel laterit memiliki potensi ekonomi yang signifikan. Untuk nikel, lapisan limonit memiliki potensi ekonomi sebesar USD 19.550.965 atau setara dengan Rp 310.917.430.537, sedangkan lapisan saprolit memiliki potensi sebesar USD 1.978.843 atau setara dengan Rp 31.469.375.560. Sementara itu, untuk kobalt, lapisan limonit memiliki potensi ekonomi mencapai USD 60.211.426 atau setara dengan Rp 957.537.484.403, sedangkan pada lapisan saprolit mencapai USD 103.792.752 atau setara dengan Rp 1.650.607.831.636.

Abstract

Nilai faktor keamanan lereng tambang di Indonesia diatur dalam Keputusan Menteri ESDM No. 1827 K/30/MEM Tahun 2018 tetang Pedoman Pelakasanaan Kaidah Teknik Pertambangan yang Baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan rekomendasi geometri lereng penambangan yang stabil dan optimal berdasarkan sifat fisik dan sifat mekanik tanah penyusun lereng pada rencana penambangan Blok Ulusawa 10 PT. Gerbang Multi Sejahtera. Metode yang digunakan dalam penentuan kestabilan lereng pada penelitian ini adalah metode Bishop Simplified. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan simulasi kestabilan lereng pada profil endapan nikel laterit dalam kondisi terdistribusi beban tambahan oleh alat gali-muat Excavator Sumitomo SH350 HD-6 sebesar 56 kN/m2 dan beban dari alat angkut Dumptruck Mercedes Benz Axor 2528C (6x4) sebesar 13,30 kN/m2 serta pengaruh getaran gempa sebesar 0,4 gal (Aulia et al., 2019). Untuk lereng tunggal setinggi 5 meter lapisan Saprolite pada kondisi dinamis dengan sudut 45o dan lebar Bench 2 meter adalah material yang memiliki nilai FK paling rendah, yaitu FK = 1,590 dengan PL = 3,10% sehingga dapat mewakili semua material sebagai kondisi paling pesimis dan digunakan sebagai acuan untuk merancang geometri lereng keseluruhan dengan tinggi maksimum 65 meter. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan untuk rekomendasi geometri lereng penambangan menggunakan geometri lereng keseluruhan dengan tinggi maksimum 65 meter, lebar bench 2 meter, lebar ramp 9 meter dengan FK dalam kondisi dinamis sebesar 1,226 dan PL = 17,70% serta sudut kemiringan lereng keseluruhan 27o dengan nilai FK dalam keadaan terdistribusi beban (dinamis) = 1,203 dan PL = 13,10% .

Abstract

Morosi Village located in Konawe Regency is one of the areas in which there is a nickel processing company. The nickel processing produces solid waste, one of which is nickel slag. The amount of nickel slag is accumulating day by day, because each process of refining one ton of nickel product produces 50 times the solid waste, equivalent to 50 tons. So that from the results of quite a lot of waste, research was carried out to use solid waste as a concrete forming material, either as coarse and fine aggregate, or as a cement mixture. Government Regulation No. 101 of 2014 classifies nickel slag as B3 waste hazard category 2 with waste code B403. This means that nickel slag is a waste that has a delayed effect, and has an indirect impact on humans and the environment. Meanwhile, at the end of 2019, the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) concerning the choice of nickel slag material from electric furnaces. This SNI was also prepared by the Ministry of Industry to support the development of nickel slag standards and as a solution for nickel slag management. The existence of SNI is also intended as a reference to optimize the use of nickel slag as aggregate, substitute for natural aggregate and other uses. Some examples of products made from nickel slag include bricks, precast and ready-to-print concrete, road base and field, soil improvers, growing media and fertilizers, mortar and cement slag, composite portland cement, and cement geopolymers. To accommodate the use of nickel slag, assistance is needed to the community, especially in Morosi Village to be able to process with appropriate, effective and efficient technology in accordance with its physical characteristics and chemical characteristics. This will be an alternative to reduce the amount of nickel slag that can pollute the environment, in addition to increasing people's income.
