Abstract

This study aims to identify the influence of character education on student learning achievement in the context of the 5.0 era. The type of research used is quantitative research. This method was chosen because it is appropriate for testing the relationship and influence between the variables that have been formulated, namely character education and student learning achievement. The research design used is explanatory research. The focus of this study is on three dimensions of character: discipline, self-confidence, and independence. The research subjects consisted of 80 grade XII science students at Mahanaim Middle School in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The selection of subjects was carried out purposively, considering that the class had received systematic character education intervention through learning tools used at the school. Data collection was carried out through two techniques, namely questionnaires and documentation. The measurement scale used was a four-point Likert scale, with alternative answers ranging from strongly disagree (1) to strongly agree (4), as stated by Riduwan (2004). In addition, documentation was used to obtain quantitative data on student learning achievement, which was taken from the Final Semester Examination (UAS) scores. The results of the study indicate a significant influence, both simultaneously and partially, of discipline, self-confidence, and independence on student achievement. These findings underscore the importance of character education as a primary foundation for improving the quality of learning and student competitiveness in the 5.0 era, where intellectual intelligence needs to be supported by emotional intelligence and strong character. Therefore, schools and educators are expected to continue strengthening the integration of character education into the learning process as a key strategy in producing a superior and globally competitive generation.

Abstract

This research examines faculty resistance to the development of digital technology in education during the modern educational era. The aim of the study is to identify barriers and explore factors contributing to higher education institutions' resistance to the integration of digital technology. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, utilizing surveys to assess faculty attitudes toward digital technology and interviews to provide deeper insights into personal experiences and perceived obstacles. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify common themes and patterns related to resistance among faculty members from various disciplines across different institutions. The innovation of this research lies in its holistic approach, integrating faculty perspectives and institutional policies, as well as professional development and training related to modern learning theories and the application of digital technology in education. The findings emphasize the need for tailored support and training initiatives to enhance skills and confidence in using digital technology, thereby addressing the specific issues and barriers identified by faculty. This integration of technology into teaching is crucial for enhancing effectiveness and improving the learning experiences of students in an increasingly digital era. Keywords: , ,

Abstract

The transformative dialogue model of Jesus in the Gospel of John 1-4 portrays Jesus Christ's consistent evangelistic interaction through dialogues with various figures in different contexts, leading to changes in understanding and spiritual transformation both individually and collectively among those He encountered. This study aims to identify and analyze the transformative dialogue model employed by Jesus Christ in John 1-4 to achieve transformative goals, fostering relationships conducive to faith growth among His listeners and bringing people to faith in Him. The research methodology involves qualitative descriptive and exploratory text analysis with a hermeneutical approach to understanding the cultural and theological contexts underlying each effective mission dialogue. The study analyzes six dialogues in John 1-4 involving Jesus Christ conversing with four different groups of people. Dialogues are communication tools for bringing about deeper spiritual truths and change. The findings illustrate that Jesus Christ used various dialogical strategies to effectively communicate the Gospel message to people from diverse social backgrounds, building relationships that facilitate faith growth. The transformative dialogue model of Jesus Christ in John 1-4 demonstrates wise and open dialogue in evangelism, providing valuable guidance for modern evangelistic practices and emphasizing the need for adaptation to individual social contexts for maximum effectiveness in bringing people to Christ.

Abstract

The divine mandate given to man by God from the very beginning of creation was to rule the world (Gen. 1:27). The foundation of God’s Kingdom has already existed since its creation. After man fell into sin, there was enmity between the serpent, the women, and their respective offspring (Gen. 3:6-7). God’s promise that the serpent will be crushed pointed to the coming of the Messiah and the assurance of victory (Gen. 3:15). The divine mandate to proclaim the kingdom of God can not be hindered by anyone and needs to be known by every believer. Therefore, every believer is called to fulfill God’s plan to proclaim the kingdom of God. To find out the divine mandate for preaching God’s Kingdom, the qualitative method of literature study is used.

Abstract

Apologetics as a branch of Theology is based on the main purpose that is to bring people to maturity and spread the Gospel. Reading the Bible in a holistic way, apologetics has been executed since the very beginning of the world’s existance and apologetics was started by God Himself when He answered those who opposed Him. Appologetics has continued to the first church and up to now when proofing the truth of the Christian belief during evangelisation and even as an act of counselling. The connection between apologetics and evangelisation is quite close, as apologetics try to answer the questionings of the Chritian beliefs, which could be a direct act of evangelisation. Wilbur Smit wrote “a spoken or written accountability of what we are doing or the Truth we are believing”. Wilbur Smit believes that being accountable is part of our conviction. Very fundamental as an apologetic is that he should have a deep conviction and sanctifies Christ in his life. This is a key factor, because the presuppostion here is that the Jesus Christ is Lord of the thoughts of an apologetic. The apologetic arguments should be towards the Lordship of Jesus Christ and wisdom of God and founded on the fear of the Lord. Foolishnes of unbelief is not to be exposed for apologetic is as neutral as other human activity. Any apologetic argument should have the Truth of God as the presupposition.
