Abstract

Laptops are essential devices that support various academic activities for university students, such as writing assignments, programming, graphic design, and attending online classes. However, the wide range of available laptops with varying specifications and prices often makes it difficult for students to choose one that fits their needs and budget. This study aims to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to assist students in selecting the most suitable laptop based on several relevant criteria. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. Data was collected using questionnaires and literature studies. The test results show that the system can accurately and efficiently generate laptop recommendations that align with user preferences. The conclusion of this study indicates that the application of the SAW method in a DSS is effective in simplifying the decision-making process for selecting laptops for academic purposes.

Abstract

Water baths are commonly used in scientific fields to incubate samples at specific temperatures. The temperature of the water bath must be controlled precisely, because even the slightest temperature variation can affect the results of the experiment. It can handle imprecise, uncertain and incomplete information, making it suitable for temperature control in water baths. This research aims to determine the distribution and stability of fuzzy logic control to control the temperature of a water bath with four heaters. Even heat distribution from the four heaters will ensure consistent water bath temperature throughout the bath. This research uses an Arduino microcontroller to process the temperature sensor output from the DS18B20, then the processed temperature value will be displayed on the TFT LCD. The independent variable in this research is the temperature value, while the dependent variable is the DS18B20 temperature sensor. The largest error value from the module measurements is at a temperature setting of 30 ºC on the 2nd temperature sensor with an error value of 1.43%. Meanwhile, the smallest error value is found at a temperature setting of 35 ºC on the 1st and 4th temperature sensors with an error value of 0.01%. Data collection used a digital thermometer comparison tool with 10 repetitions as a temperature sensor reference tool. The results obtained using this sensor are more stable and have a high accuracy value. The results of the research show that the temperature difference between points 1 to 4 when viewed from the error percentage is very small, or it can be said that the temperature distribution is even. The conclusion from these results is that the module has a stable temperature value and the error value is low and is still within the tolerance limit. permitted is ±5%.

Abstract

Highlights: • There is no correlation between the increase of SGOT and sepsis. • Correlation between the increase of SGPT and sepsis was significant founded. Abstract: Burns trigger hypermetabolic stress reactions that cause inflammatory responses. When there is a sustained or increased hypermetabolic reaction, the inflammatory response can be life-threatening, such as sepsis, and significantly impact hepatic metabolic function. After burns, varying degrees of liver injury are usually associated with burn severity. This study determined the correlation between elevated serum transaminases (SGOT/ SGPT) and sepsis in burn patients at a tertiary hospital of Dr. Soetomo General Academic Hospital, Surabaya, Indonesia, from January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2020. This was a descriptive-analytic study with a retrospective cohort design. The data in this study included the demography of burn patients, causes of burns, inhalation trauma, burn severity, increased serum transaminase (SGOT/SGPT), mortality, and sepsis. This study found that the correlation between elevated serum transaminases (SGOT/SGPT) and sepsis was determined using the Spearman-Rho Rank statistical test. Burn patients with sepsis in the hospital were dominated by males (65.2%) and mostly aged 26-55 years (69.6%). The flame was found to be the highest cause of burns (80.4%), burn area above 20% (91.3%), the highest level of severity was major burn (91.3%), and no inhalation trauma (54.3%). In this study, there was an increase in SGOT of 69.6% and SGPT of 78.3%, with a mortality rate of 39.1%, with average inpatient days of 24 days. The correlation test between elevated serum transaminase (SGOT) and sepsis showed an insignificant relationship (p = 0.065, p> 0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.200. In contrast, the correlation between elevated serum transaminase (SGPT) and sepsis was significant (p=0.006, p<0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.296.

Abstract

Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) is a form of student community engagement aimed at applying academic knowledge directly to society. This KKN activity was carried out at PAUD Sinar Pelangi, Purwodono Hamlet, Batumarta II Village, with a focus on optimizing early childhood motor development through educational play activities. Early childhood is a critical period that requires appropriate stimulation to support optimal physical growth and development, particularly in gross and fine motor skills. Based on observations conducted during the KKN program, it was found that the motor development of children at PAUD Sinar Pelangi had not yet been fully optimized due to limited variations of structured educational play activities. Therefore, educational play activities such as drawing, coloring, and pencil sharpening were implemented as stimulation to improve children’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The implementation method used was direct learning through guided educational play activities, where children actively participated under supervision and assistance. The results of this activity showed positive responses from the children, indicated by increased enthusiasm, creativity, and participation during the learning process. In addition, these activities contributed to improving children’s fine motor skills. It is expected that this program can increase awareness among teachers, parents, and the community regarding the importance of educational play as a means of stimulating early childhood motor development. Furthermore, this activity is hoped to serve as a reference for the continued application of educational play activities in daily learning at PAUD Sinar Pelangi

Abstract

This study aims to formulate an appropriate competitive strategy for Wijaya Laundry in Baturaja City through an analysis of internal and external factors and service quality. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and direct observation. Sampling was carried out purposively by involving 15 respondents consisting of the owners and customers of Wijaya Laundry. Data analysis was conducted using SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, as well as service quality analysis covering the aspects of physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The results showed that Wijaya Laundry had a number of internal weaknesses, including the absence of clear business planning, unorganised financial management, unstructured task distribution, and limited promotional activities. Externally, opportunities were not being optimally utilised, particularly the use of digital technology as a promotional medium. In addition, service quality still needed to be improved, especially in terms of the comfort of business facilities. Based on the SWOT analysis results, the recommended competitive strategy is an intensive strategy in the form of market penetration through increased promotional activities, expansion of digital-based promotional reach, and the provision of customer loyalty programmes to increase competitiveness and maintain business sustainability.
