Abstract

The emergence of intolerant understanding is due to the belief that only one's religious understanding is the most correct, while other beliefs are wrong. This phenomenon causes some people to feel "deserved" to give strict warnings, and not a few feel entitled to punish others who disagree. Therefore, intolerant understanding cannot only be resolved through seminars or workshops, but needs to be carried out massively in learning activities. The content of learning materials that have nuances of violence in religion must be balanced with an understanding to respect and care for each other. This community service activity seeks to instill the spirit of religious moderation in the learning process in the classroom which begins with compiling learning modules with nuances of moderation. Religious teachers who have been familiar with religious studies are trained and equipped with the values and character of moderation in order that they can implement independent curriculum learning based on moderation. The impacts of this community service include the preparation of Document 1 of the Independent Curriculum, the Draft Module for Religious Learning for Independent Curriculum based on Religious Moderation, and mapping of several discussions in religious materials that have the potential to give rise to extreme thoughts, including jihad, stories of war, prohibition of befriending non-Muslims, and leadership selection in Islam.

Abstract

Abstract

In the history of women's life, the woman has never cracked from the wild cry of helplessness. Woman always become victim of men’s egoism, marginalized, hurt, unfettered, fooled and never appreciated the presence and role. This situation troubles many intellectual Muslims who have perspective that Islam teaches equality, equality for all human beings in the world. The difference in skin color, race, tribe and nation, as well as gender does not cause them to get the status of the different rights and obligations. The potential and the right to life of every human being and the obligation to serve the Lord Almighty is the same. Indeed, all human beings, as caliph in the world, have the same obligation, namely to prosperity of life in the world. No one is allowed to act arbitrarily, destroying, or hurt among others. They are required to live side by side, united, and harmonious, help each other and respect each other. However, that "demand" never becomes a reality. The differences among human identities become a barrier and the cause of divisions. For them, those who are outside environment, different identities are "others" who rightly do not need them "know". The difference of identity has become a reason to allow "hurt" each other. Several intellectual Muslims who recognize the wrong (discrimination against women), and then they attempt to formulate a movement for women's liberation. All the efforts have been done on the basis of awareness that arbitrary action by any person can never be justified. They also realize, that the backwardness of women are "stumbling block" that will lead to the resignation of a civilization. However, this struggle found a lot of challenges; including the consideration of "insubordination" to conquer the power of men, despite it had done by using many strategies. Starting from the writing of scientific book and countless fiction themed women has been published in order to give awareness of equality between men and women. This paper seeks to reexamine the process of the empowerment struggle to give a brand new concept, so that the struggle of women empowerment is not as insubordination and curiosity process in an attempt to conquer the male. Through approach of literature review and observations on the relationship between men and women, the writer finally concluded that the movement of Islamic feminism is not a movement to seize the power of men, but an attempt to liberate women from oppression so that they get the rights of their social role, giving freedom for women to pursue a career as wide as possible like a man, without forgetting a main duty as a mother: to conceive, give birth and breastfeed their children.

Abstract

Inclusive education is a strategic approach to fostering a harmonious society amidst Indonesia’s diverse cultures and religions. This research analyzes the implementation of inclusive education at Tarbiyatul Mu’allimin Al-Islamiyyah (TMI) Al-Amien Prenduan. The study’s goal is to understand how the school internalizes Islamic values, nationalism, and tolerance. We used a qualitative, case study design, gathering data through in-depth interviews with school leaders, teachers, and students, along with participant observation and document analysis. Thematic analysis and source triangulation ensured data validity. Findings reveal that TMI Al-Amien successfully implements inclusive education by integrating the principles of ukhuwah islamiyyah (Islamic brotherhood) and ukhuwah wathaniyyah (national brotherhood) throughout its educational aspects. The curriculum accommodates diverse student backgrounds while maintaining Islamic identity. A holistic evaluation system assesses academics, personality, and social skills, indicating success. Challenges like student heterogeneity, potential group exclusivity, and limited media literacy were overcome by strengthening core values, developing educator competencies, and encouraging multicultural interaction. We conclude that TMI Al-Amien’s inclusive education model effectively strengthens student tolerance and nationalism, serving as a valuable reference for multicultural education development in other pesantren

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the scope and implementation of the authority of the Religious Court in resolving Islamic economic disputes following the enactment of Law No. 3 of 2006. The research focuses on a case study at the Sumenep Religious Court, which has jurisdiction over disputes involving Islamic financial institutions, including Islamic banking, Islamic financing, and Islamic insurance. This study employs a qualitative socio-legal research method that integrates normative legal analysis with empirical data. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with judges and court officials, direct observation of court proceedings, and examination of relevant legal documents and court decisions. The findings indicate that the Religious Court possesses absolute authority to examine, adjudicate, and resolve Islamic economic disputes as stipulated in Article 49 of Law No. 3 of 2006. The implementation of this authority at the Sumenep Religious Court has been concretely realized through several court decisions addressing disputes between Islamic financial institutions and their customers. These decisions demonstrate the court’s increasing role and capacity in handling complex Islamic economic cases in accordance with sharia principles and national law. The originality of this research lies in its empirical focus on the practical application of the Religious Court’s authority at the regional level, providing new insights into how statutory mandates are operationalized in resolving Islamic economic disputes.

Abstract

The practice of Kitab Kuning learning in Indonesian pesantren represents a fundamental aspect of Islamic scholarly transmission. However, long-standing teaching methods like sorogan and bandongan are coming under more pressure from modern educational needs, especially when it comes to getting students to pay attention and use their time wisely. While numerous acceleration initiatives have been implemented in various pesantren, systematic and empirically validated models of accelerated Kitab Kuning learning are still inadequately examined. This research examines pedagogical methods in three pesantren located in Madura and develops an evidence-based accelerated learning model for classical Islamic texts. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive-exploratory design, data were gathered via in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis at Almadinah Ganding Sumenep, LPI Maktuba al-Majidiyah Plakpak Pamekasan, and Darussalam Puncak Palengaan Pamekasan. The results show that traditional learning methods usually take students three to four years to master basic text, but accelerated teaching methods cut this time down significantly by using experiential, active, and contextual learning methods. The study advances theoretical understanding by framing accelerated textual literacy within pesantren pedagogy, enhances methodological approaches by suggesting a versatile multi-strategy instructional design applicable in various pesantren settings, and offers empirical validation through field-based evidence of its efficacy. The uniqueness of this research resides in the formulation of a structured acceleration model that maintains the epistemic authority and scholarly ethos of pesantren while addressing modern pedagogical challenges. These results have useful implications for developing curricula and training teachers in Islamic schools.

Abstract

The rapid development of Islamic finance in Indonesia has generated a growing number of disputes requiring legal resolution based on sharia principles. Historically, such cases fell under the jurisdiction of general courts, creating uncertainty for Muslim litigants. The enactment of Law No. 3/2006 fundamentally redefined the authority of Religious Courts by granting them exclusive jurisdiction over sharia economic disputes, including those related to Islamic banking, insurance, and financial contracts. This study aims to analyze how this authority is exercised in practice, with a specific focus on the Religious Court of Sumenep as a case study. Using a socio-legal and qualitative approach, the research draws on primary data from court decisions and interviews, complemented by secondary legal sources. The findings demonstrate that the Religious Court of Sumenep has effectively applied its expanded mandate, resolving disputes with greater accessibility and cultural legitimacy for Muslim litigants. However, challenges remain, particularly in judicial capacity and technical expertise in complex financial transactions. The study contributes to the discourse on judicial reform in Muslim-majority contexts, highlighting the need for continuous capacity building and institutional support to strengthen the role of Religious Courts in promoting legal certainty and advancing the Islamic economy in Indonesia

Abstract

The concept of kiai pemimpinan is a kind of social and political control that is derived from several needs. Kiai dengan sosok elitnya, sebagaimana kelimuan dan keahliannya dalam berbagai bidang menjadi sosok yang dijunjung tinggi. The position of the kiai is very sensitive to changes in the political and social spheres. In addition to serving as a resource for the kiai community, it can also be used as a place for consultation. Desa Karangharjo's children are taught to respect strategic locations, not just as people with a deep understanding of religion but also as good citizens who can uphold social and political stability in the event of conflict. This is the point of contention in this study, which is based on the elit theory proposed by Vilfredo Pareto. This study employs a qualitative approach to phenomenon analysis, which is complemented by a deskriptif critical analysis method. Data collection is done by long-term observation, fieldwork, and documentation. On the other hand, the data analysis used is a deskripsi analysis model that is obtained by primary data collection, data analysis, and kesimpulan reasoning. The following are the main conclusions drawn from this research: a) the specific ways in which the community in Desa Karangharjo is involved in social and political matters; in other words, the community is being transformed into social and political consultants. In addition, kiai serves as an eminent religious figure and a specialist in classical consultation; b) the means of reconciliation between kiai and the Desa Karangharjo community is through interactive communication to understand the current situation. In addition, residents of Desa Karangharjo actively participate in social events and programs that are held in conjunction with the community. This is a type of writing that is often used as a euphemism and can be used to develop social structures, particularly in the village of Karangharjo in Silo, Kabupaten Jember.
