Abstract

Background: The disease of the oral cavity is quite common in the society is periodontitis. The main cause of this condition is a certain bacterial infection found in dental plaque. In general, metronidazole gel will be given as additional therapy to treat bacterial colonization. Mangosteen peel extract gel contains xanthones and flavonoids which are known to be antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. This research aims to specify the differences in the effectiveness of anti-inflammatory between mangosteen peel extract and metronidazole gel on fibroblast proliferation.Method: This is a laboratory experimental design using post-test only design consisted of 50% mangosteen peel extract gel group, 75% mangosteen peel extract gel group, 25% metronidazole gel group and metronidazole plus gel group. This research used male Wistar rats induced periodontitis by ligation for 7 days as samples. Results: The results reveal that there was a differences in effectiveness between the 4 groups against the proliferation of fibroblast were analyzed using One Way ANOVA with a significance of 0.000 (p<0.05).Conclusion: It can be concluded that there was differences in the effectiveness of mangosteen peel extract gel and metronidazole gel as anti-inflammatory on proliferation of fibroblast in periodontitis healing process.

Abstract

Background : Children are a population that has a high potential to be exposed to caries. Calcium deficiency due to demineralization of the enamel can cause a decrease in hardness during caries pathway. It can be anticipated with the application of re-mineralizing materials. Duck eggshells are contain high amount of calcium. This research aimed to examine the effect of duck eggshell extract gel (Anas plathyrhynchos domesticus) on the enamel hardness of primary teeth. Methods : This research is an experimental laboratory type using a pre and post-test control group design. There were 3 treatment groups with 4 samples in each group, which consisted of application of duck eggshell extract gel (Anas plathyrhynchos domesticus) with a concentration of 20% and 40%, and casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) paste. Sample application was carried out 42 times in 14-day intervals. Then the sample was measured with vickers microhardness tester. The data were processed by using Paired T-Test, Kruskal-Wallis, and Post Hoc Mann-Whitney statistical tests. Results : showed that there were significant differences in the samples before and after the application of duck eggshell extract gel (Anas plathyrhynchos domesticus) (p<0.05). Significant differences were also found in the three groups (p<0.05). The group that experienced the highest increase in hardness was the 20% duck eggshell extract gel (Anas plathyrhynchos domesticus) treatment group. Conclusion : was that duck eggshell extract gel (Anas plathyrhynchos domesticus) with a concentration of 20% was effective in increasing the hardness of primary tooth enamel

Abstract

Background: The existence of hospitals that apply sharia hospital standards can be a solution to muslim communities in Indonesia. Many hospitals currently go by the label of being Islamic hospitals, but their applications have yet to comply with sharia standards. The success of hospital services can be seen in service quality, one can be seen from element of compliance with Islamic law.Method: This study applied analytical observational research (cross-sectional) using an accidental sampling technique of 133 patients. The variables in this study included the independent variable, the application of the element of compliance with Islamic law, while the level of patients' satisfaction served as its dependent variable. Distribution of a questionnaire was used for the instrument. Analysis of the data that has been obtained is then processed using the SPSS Spearman correlation test program. Result: This study used a program using the Spearman correlation test. The study showed a relationship between applying the element of compliance with Islamic law and the level of patients' satisfaction at Rumah Sakit Islam Gigi dan Mulut Pendidikan (RSIGMP) Sultan Agung Semarang (P=0,000). Applying the element of compliance with Islamic law revealed that results averaged 79,9 fell into the range 61-90 being very good and patients' satisfaction yielded an average of 22,5 fell into the range 16,7-25 being very satisfied. Conclusion: The level of patients' satisfaction is related to applying the element of compliance with Islamic law. The better the application of the element of compliance with Islamic law, the better the patients' satisfaction. Applying the compliance with Islamic law and patients’ satisfaction have been performed properly.
