Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing the structural strength of car deck construction in roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) passenger ships. Ro-ro ships are designed to transport both vehicles and passengers, in which vehicles can drive in and out under their own power. While these ships are operational, there is a potential for improvement in their construction strength, particularly in the car deck area. The car deck is a critical structural component as it bears both vehicle loads and supports the upper decks. This research analyzes the car deck's structural integrity, which was initially designed for trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUV), under various conditions including calm water, sagging, and hogging scenarios. Using both finite element method (FEM) analysis through ANSYS software and manual calculations via Excel, the study evaluates maximum stress points and deflection. The 3D modeling was completed using Fusion 360, while 2D drawings were created in AutoCAD. Results revealed that the highest stress occurs during hogging conditions with truck loads, showing 188.23 MPa stress and 0.077128 m deflection. With a safety factor of 1.3281, these values comply with Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI) standards, which require stress below 250 MPa and a safety factor above 1.

Abstract

Permasalahan Lingkungan pada Desa Banyuurip, Kecamatan Ujungpangkah Gresik Jawa Timur adalah menumpuknya limbah Cangkang Kerang Hijau. Tujuan diadakan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat adalah cara menanggulangi limbah Cangkang Kerang Hijau sebagai produk peningkatan ekonomi berupa pakan pelet udang vaname. Metode yang diterapkan adalah Participaroty Action Research (PAR). Metode Participaroty Action Research (PAR) merupakan metode yang mampu mengidentifikasi masalah, partisipasi masyarakat dan menyusun solusi secara bersama – sama dengan masyarakat. Lokasi Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini berada di Desa Banyuurip, Kecamatan Ujungpangkah Gresik Jawa Timur. Hasil dari Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dapat menerapkan teknologi pembuatan pakan udang vaname berbahan limbah Cangkang Kerang Hijau dilakukan di Desa Banyuurip, Kecamatan Ujungpangkah Gresik Jawa Timur dapat memicu wirausaha baru bagi Masyarakat, khususnya bagi kelompok pembudidaya udang vaname sehingga dapat menanggulangi limbah Cangkang Kerang Hijau yang menjadi problem di desa tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan teknologi dalam mengatasi limbah Cangkang Kerang Hijau yang menumpuk dan menimbulkan polusi udara berupa bau busuk dapat menciptakan wirausaha baru yaitu UKM pemanfaatan limbah Cangkang Kerang Hijau sebagai pakan pellet udang vaname.

Abstract

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is a fast-growing aquatic plant, floats on the surface of the water and is often considered a weed because it can cover the water surface, inhibit photosynthesis, reduce oxygen levels, clog airways, and disrupt human activities such as fishing, transportation, and irrigation. Therefore, an effective tool is needed to clean waters filled with water hyacinth. This study aims to design a water hyacinth cutting tool concept based on an airboat. In this study, a master design approach method is used to obtain an airboat design quickly and efficiently. The research subjects involved are the airboat structure design, including the hull shape and propulsion system, and ship stability calculations. The data collection method in this study involves a literature study of previous technical references, empirical data from similar ships, and the technical parameters of the engine and hull structure. Data analysis was carried out using marine engineering calculation methods. The study results show that the resulting airboat design meets the stability criteria according to IMO (International Maritime Organization) standards, and general arrangements can be produced quickly. Through this research, we can create innovative and applicable solutions to the water hyacinth problem, which often disrupts irrigation activities, water transportation, and tourism.

Abstract

Asesmen Kompetensi Minimal (AKM) merupakan salah satu asesmen nasional yang digunakan pada tahun 2021 oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan untuk menggantikan ujian nasional tingkat SMA. AKM fokus mengukur kemampuan literasi dan numerikal melalui kemampuan logika dan pemahaman baca siswa. Berdasarkan laporan hasil tes PISA pada tahun 2018, kedua kompetensi ini menjadi masalah mendasar siswa di Indonesia. Untuk memicu peningkatan kemampuan logika siswa MAN 2 Madiun, maka diberikan pengetahuan tambahan di luar kurikulum. Salah satunya melalui kegiatan workshop pembuatan automatic mobile robot. Kegiatan ini juga mampu meningkatkan kompetensi dalam literasi digital, teknologi dan manusia pada era revolusi industri 4.0 karena workshop pembuatan automatic mobile robot banyak digunakan dibidang otomasi industri. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan metode luring melalui tatap muka di Aula MAN 2 Madiun untuk menciptakan ruang pembelajaran interaktif. Dari pelaksanaan kegiatan, didapatkan hasil quiz peserta pada setiap pokok materi menunjukkan hasil sangat memuaskan dengan nilai rata-rata 81 dan hasil tes peserta pada akhir pembelajaran juga menunjukkan hasil memuaskan dengan nilai rata-rata 79. Selain itu, dari hasil kuisioner peserta sebagai bentuk respon dari pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan hasil sangat baik. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini, pembuatan automatic mobile robot dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu kegiatan ekstrakurikuler untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa MAN 2 Madiun.

Abstract

Safety Issues and Early Warning for Traditional Fishermen While Sailing in Brondong Lamongan, East Java. The purpose of the Community Service activity is that with the Simple tool, it is hoped that traditional fishermen in Brondong Lamongan, East Java will be guaranteed safety while sailing. The method applied is a participatory approach, which actively involves the community in every stage of the activity, from planning, implementation, to evaluation. Active participation from the community is very important to ensure the success and sustainability of the program, because the community has in-depth local knowledge about the potential and problems that exist in their area. The location of this Community Service is in the Brondong Lamongan Fishermen's Association, East Java. Based on the results of the Community Service, it can implement the Simple Tool as a Safety System and Early Warning for Traditional Fishermen While Sailing in Brondong Lamongan, East Java, so that it can be used to increase fishing productivity and safety for traditional fishermen which is a problem for these traditional fishermen.
