Abstract

In this paper surface optimization for the surface roundness has been done by considering the cutting parameters as cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut. The experiments were performed on a CNC lathe, and the materials used for the experiment is steel St.60, with 100 mm length and 1" diameter. For design and optimize the results experiments used Taguchi method, and to predict the level of significance tests that contribute to the unity of the surface is done by ANOVA with Minitab 15 software. From this research the optimized values contributing as cutting speed 60 m/menit, feed 0.2 mm/rev and depth of cut 0,125 mm respectively. To find out the extent to which the accuracy of the minimum values of surface roundness, then do validation on parameter values corresponding to the optimization of the minimum value of the parameter.Keywords: roundness, cutting speed, feeding, depth of cut, Taguchi.

Abstract

In this paper, the optimization of two response parameters surface roughness has been done by considering the cutting parameters as cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut with dry conditions. Taguchi?s L27 orthogonal array and analysis of variance (ANOVA) are used individual optimization. The different levels of all machining parameters are used and experiments are done on F-1 Leadwell CNC lathe machine and the materials used for the experiment is steel St.60, with 200 mm length and 20 mm of diameter. From this research the optimized values contributing as cutting speed 200 m/menit,, feed 0.1  mm/rev and depth of cut 0,1 mm respectively. The optimum condition for combined effects was found Cs=3-F=1-DoC=1 and the optimal value of the surface roughness comes out to be 0.72 (mm). Abstract

Pipe bending process needs special attention because it makes different mechanical properties. Increasing hardness cause materials brittle. The purpose of this study was to analyze the distribution of force on the part of the pipe as a result of the heating curves and 8000C 6700c with bending angle 900 and 1800. SA 335 is a pipe specimen with the size of outside diameter 44.5 mm and a thickness of 8 mm. At first, the two pipes is heated to the temperature 6700c and 2 other pipes that are heated to 8000C temperature, then 2 pipes bended at each heating temperature 900 and 1800. After that cut pipes to grab third in replication in each condition 4 pipe. From the test results found that the bending angle effect on hardness values. The greater the bending angle, the higher the hardness value.Keywords: bending, hardness, pipe, heating.

Abstract

Printing in three dimensions is becoming increasingly vital for vocational students. Incorporating 3D printing into vocational training courses and educational programs provides students with numerous benefits and prepares them for technical professions in various industries. This article aims to develop 3D printing training that is CAD-based for SMK Babat Lamongan. Students can experience real-world models of complex mathematical equations, graphs, and arrangements through 3D printing. It enables students with difficulty visualizing these concepts to comprehend them more readily. By learning 3D printing now, vocational students are preparing for the changing job market and global economy of the twenty-first century. This article shows that skills in 3D printing are precious for vocational students. They provide students with hands-on experience, foster creativity, and prepare them for technical vocations. Incorporating 3D printing into vocational education programs can give students the necessary skills for the future workforce.

Abstract

The dimensional accuracy of the workpiece might be impacted by geometric variations that machines frequently experience. The geometric shape of the workpiece as a result of the machining process can be used to quantify machine quality and can take the form of cylindricality, smoothness, roundness, and other geometric shapes. The results of the workpiece surface's cylindricality will depend on machining parameters such spindel speed, feeding, and depth of cut. For the design of the research experiment and the data analysis, this study employs the Box Behnken Design in Response Surface Method that is figuring out the trial variation using 3 stages. The specimen used was ST 42 steel, and a DNMG 150404 carbide insert tool was used on a Pinacho L-1/260 conventional lathe machine to perform a total of 15 experimental modifications on the specimen. Furthermore, the cylindricity test was carried out using a dial indicator. The research results on the effect of parameters on surface cylindricity, namely engine speed with a Pvalue of 0.068, depth of feed with a Pvalue of 0.784, and feed speed with a Pvalue of 0.839, the three parameters were declared not to have a significant effect. The engine rotation parameter provides a contribution effect of 26.87%, the depth of cut is 0.52% and the feed speed is 0.28%. Keakuratan dimensi benda kerja mungkin dipengaruhi oleh variasi geometris yang sering dialami mesin. Bentuk geometris benda kerja sebagai hasil dari proses pemesinan dapat digunakan untuk mengukur kualitas mesin dan dapat mengambil bentuk silindris, kehalusan, kebulatan, dan bentuk geometris lainnya. Hasil kesilindrisan permukaan benda kerja akan tergantung pada parameter pemesinan seperti putaran mesin, kecepatan pemakanan, dan kedalaman pemakanan. Untuk desain percobaan penelitian dan analisis data, penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Response Surface Box Behnken Design yaitu mencari tahu variasi percobaan dengan menggunakan 3 tahap. Spesimen yang digunakan adalah baja ST 42, dan alat insert DNMG 150404 carbide digunakan pada mesin bubut konvensional Pinacho L-1/260 untuk melakukan total 15 modifikasi eksperimental pada spesimen. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji kesilindrisan dengan menggunakan dial indikator. Hasil penelitian tentang pengaruh parameter terhadap kesilindrisan permukaan yaitu putaran mesin dengan Pvalue 0,068, kedalaman pemakanan dengan Pvalue 0,784, dan kecepatan pemakanan dengan Pvalue 0,839, ketiga parameter tersebut dinyatakan tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Parameter putaran mesin memberikan efek kontribusi 26,87%, kedalaman umpan 0,52% dan kecepatan umpan 0,28%.

Abstract

Submerged Arc Welding(SAW),the molten weld metal is immersed in aflux that protects it from air contamination, forming welding slag which is strong enough to protect the weld metal until it solidifies. The used electrode was AWSA5.17EL12. The base metal being welded is ASTM A283 Grade A. In this study, the effect of angle distortion on the T joint was observed by changing the welding parameters. In order to obtain the optimal results, an attempt was made to link the welding parameters to the angle distortion through a mathematical model by using the Box Behnken statistic technique, the feasibility of which was then tested by using ANOVA analysis. Abstract

Biawak Island, with its rich marine biodiversity, has great potential as an ecotourism destination. However, increasing tourism activities have the potential to threaten environmental sustainability. This research aims to analyze the potential for using electric speedboats as an environmentally friendly transportation solution that can support the development of sustainable ecotourism on Biawak Island. Through literature review, design analysis, and numerical simulation, this research evaluates the performance of electric speedboats in terms of energy efficiency, operational range, and passenger comfort. The research results show that electric speedboats have significant potential to replace conventional fossil fuel-powered speedboats. Apart from being environmentally friendly, electric speedboats also offer other benefits such as lower operating costs in the long term and lower noise levels. The implementation of electric speedboats on Biawak Island is expected to increase tourist attraction, reduce environmental impacts, and support efforts to preserve marine ecosystems.

Abstract

This research presents the design and implementation of an IoT-based monitoring system for solar photovoltaic (PV) performance in shrimp aquaculture ponds. The system aims to optimize the use of solar energy for powering critical operations such as water pumps and aerators in off-grid environments. It integrates sensors, a microcontroller, and cloud-based data visualization to track parameters including panel voltage, current, temperature, and power output. A prototype was deployed in a shrimp farm over a two-week period, with continuous data logging and real-time monitoring. The results indicate improved energy management and system reliability, supporting operational efficiency and sustainability in aquaculture. This study contributes to smart aquaculture practices by introducing a scalable and low-cost renewable energy monitoring solution

Abstract

Turbin air savonius adalah jenis turbin sumbu vertikal yang mempunyai torsi awal yang tinggi dan dapat berputar pada kecepatan aliran fluida yang rendah, sehingga dapat diterapkan pada perairan di Indonesia. Turbin tersebut dapat digunakan pada aliran air untuk mengubah energi kinetik menjadi energi mekanik. Potensi tersebut akan dapat meningkatkan performa turbin. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan metode simulasi CFD (ComputationalFluid Diagram) dengan software Ansys Fluent dan mengkombinasikan dua sudu berbeda yang merupakan hasil variasi nilai (n) pada persamaan Myring n=1 dan n=2. Turbin yang akan disimulasikan memiliki ukuran tinggi 40 cm dan diameter 40 cm. Selain kecepatan arus yang digunakan sebesar 0,22 m/s. Di depan sisi returning blade, silinder sirkular dipasang sebagai pengganggu dengan variasi diameter 8 cm, 12cm, dan 16 cm yang berfungsi untuk meningkatkan performa turbin. Stagger divariasikan pada sudut 0º, 30?, 60º. Hasil yang diperoleh pada simulasi ini menunjukkan bahwa diameter stagger 16 cm dengan sudut 60? memiliki peningkatan performa tertinggi, yakni sebesar 19,9007%. Sedangkan variasi diameter stagger 16 cm dengan sudut 0? menurun sebesar 30,1087% dari turbin air savonius tanpa stagger.

Abstract

Energy is a need that must be met in human life, if the population increases, the need for energywill also increase. A technology is needed to support human energy needs. Therefore, low temperature heatutilization is carried out using the Organic Rankine Cycle as an energy take off from a grid-scale thermalenergy storage in the form of sand media where the heat stored is heat wasted from the heat pump. After theprocess simulation is carried out, the best and feasible fluid to run the system from an ammonia heat pumpis N-Pentane with an efficiency of 7.074%. The storage medium is silica sand. The heat exchanger design onthe tube has an outer diameter of 60.3 mm for the ORC and 42.2 mm for the heat pump with an inner diameterof 54.8 mm for the ORC tube and 32.5 mm for the heat pump. The length of the heat exchanger design pipeis 165,57 m for the ORC and 479,23 m for the heat pump.
