Abstract

Educational models to overcome stunting are needed because stunting has a negative impact on the health and function of the body as well as increasing child morbidity. The prevalence of stunting under five in Indonesia in 2019 was 27.67%, in Bali 21.9% and Karangasem 26.23% above WHO 20%. This data is the reason for conducting research in 2020. The aim is to find out whether the educational model of bio acupressure massage using virgin coconut oil can increase appetite, sleep quality and immune power so that stunting toddlers increase height. The research method is quasi-experimental; the research design is nonequivalent control group design. The sample is 50 people with purposive sampling technique. The analysis before and after treatment was carried out by paired sample t-test, the results were that all variables had significant differences (P value> 0.05). Variable differences between groups using t-two independent test with an alpha of 0.05 resulted in a significant difference in appetite (P value = 0.01) and a significant difference in height (p value = 0.020). There was no significant difference between sleep quality and endurance (P value > 0.05). It was concluded that there was a significant difference before and after education on stunting, while between the bio acupressure and conventional groups there was a significant difference in the variables of appetite and height. It is recommended that in overcoming stunting, bio acupressure massage education is the right education.

Abstract

Elderly Posyandu is a health service program aimed at improving the welfare of the elderly. The utilization of Elderly Posyandu by the elderly has not been optimal until now. This study aims to determine the relationship between characteristics and access with the utilization of Elderly Posyandu. This study is a descriptive correlation study with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples is the total sampling of respondents who meet the predetermined inclusion criteria, namely 160 samples. Data collection with questionnaires from November 11, 2024 to December 9, 2024. Data analysis was carried out using the sperm rank correlation test. The results of the study showed that most of the elderly were in the 61-70 year age group (59,4%), most of the gender was female (61,9%), most of the education level was high school (23,1%), and most of the elderly were actively working (53,1%). The support of the elderly's family was mostly in the high category (91,3%). All elderly (100%) stated that access to elderly Posyandu was easy. The utilization of elderly Posyandu was mostly in the high category, namely 153 people (95,6%). Statistical test obtained p value for age (0,000), gender (0,165), education level (0,000), occupation (0,664), family support (0,003), and access (0,725). It was concluded that only age, education level, and family support of the elderly were related to the utilization of the elderly posyandu. Elderly cadres are advised to increase motivation in the elderly to utilize the elderly posyandu to maintain health status.

Abstract

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is one of the chronic complications of DM which causes dysfunction of the peripheral nervous system, can occur in the autonomic nerves characterized by a decrease in foot skin moisture. This study aims to determine the determinants of diabetic peripheral neuropathy risk factors with foot skin moisture in type II DM patients The design of this research is non-experimental with a simple correlational method. The sample in this research is 35 respondents who were selected by consecutive sampling at the UPTD Puskesmas Ubud I. The results of the ordinal logistic regression statistical test obtained p-value of Model Fitting Information is 0,002 (p-value 0,05) and p-value Pseudo R-Square Negelkerke is 0,681, which means the risk factors of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (age, duration of diabetes mellitus, gender, transient blood glucose, total cholesterol, waist circumference, systolic blood pressure, and diastolic pressure) together have a significant effect of 68,1% with foot skin moisture. The p-value of the Wald test for gender, duration of DM, transient blood glucose, and blood pressure 0,05 so that it can be stated that each the four risk factors of diabetic peripheral neuropathy partially have a significant effect with foot skin moisture. The odds ratio for systolic blood pressure is 1,132, which means that the higher the systolic blood pressure, the 1,312 times will have problems with foot skin moisture. Based on this research, suggested that the puskesmas service unit conduct inspection activities for diabetic peripheral neuropathy risk factors at least every month.
