Abstract

Physics is a branch of science that investigates natural laws that are relevant to everyday life. The purpose of this research is to describe and to find out the causes of misconception in work and energy at students of SMA Sungai Kehidupan. The method of this research was qualitative descriptive method with a saturated sampling. The subject of the research was the entire population of class XA, XB and XI IPA which are 58 students. The data collection used was a diagnostic test with a multiple choice with closed reasons and interviews. The result of misconception in work and energy at students of SMA Sungai Kehidupan class XA, XB and XI IPA were a percentage of 75.86% regarding to work and energy. The profile of students"™ misconceptions found were five concepts, which are: understanding the definition of work and energy (57.47%); understanding "usaha pada bidang miring dan lingkaran (79.31%); identifying the relationship between work and kinetic energy (72.99%); identifying the kinetic energy of a moving object (71.84%); identifying the law of conservation of mechanical energy (78.16%). The cause of misconception of students are incomplete/wrong reasoning 60%; Students"™ learning interest 20%; Students"™ preconceptions 20%. These resuls are expected to be used as a material for consideration in choosing the appropriate treatment to overcome misconception of students.

Abstract

This research aims to produce the Testlets' model instrument test that measures the problem-solving abilities of high school students in West Kalimantan on motion topics. The study employed A.D.D.I.E.'s development model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Three hundred four students from three different cities in West Kalimantan were involved as respondents in this study. The researchers collected data through test techniques and documentation since this study focused on the characteristics of the test. The instrument test of problem-solving abilities is designed to follow Heller's solution stages, namely focusing on the problem, describing physics, planning a solution, implementing the plan, and evaluating the answer. The results of this study are the availability of 20 multiple-choice questions, with five main questions and four testlets. The assessment instrument developed had the characteristics of validity up to 0.90 (high), reliability through Cronbach's Alpha Reliability analysis: 0.83 (very good), person reliability: 0,84 (high) and item reliability: 0.98 (excellent). The test developed is theoretically and practically feasible so that high school physics teachers can use it to measure students' problem-solving abilities more quickly because it uses a multiple-choice test.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan bahan ajar IPA berbasis scientific method yang layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan high order thingking skill (HOTS) dan mengembangkan sikap sosial pada materi tekanan zat dan penerapannya; (2) mengetahui peningkatan HOTS siswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar IPA hasil pengembangan; (3) mengetahui perkembangan sikap sosial siswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar IPA hasil pengembangan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (RD) dengan model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) oleh Thiagarajan. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu (1) telah dihasilkan bahan ajar IPA berbasis scientitif method yang layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan HOTS dan mengembangkan sikap sosial dalam pembelajaran IPA dengan skor rata-rata 147,5, nilai B yang masuk dalam kategori baik.; (2) HOTS siswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar IPA hasil pengembangan meningkat dengan rata-rata gain score adalah 0,45 yang masuk dalam kategori sedang dengan signifikansi peningkatan; dan (3) sikap sosial kerjasama siswa mengalami perkembangan dari 58,2% menjadi 79,4% atau dari kategori kurang menjadi baik dan sikap sosial tanggung jawab siswa mengalami perkembangan dari 60,6% menjadi 78,2% atau dari kategori kurang menjadi baik.Kata kunci: Bahan Ajar, Scientific method, HOTS, Sikap SosialThe aims of this research are (1) to produce teaching materials based on scientific methods that are feasible to improve high order thingkin skill (HOTS) and developing social attitudes of learners from the aspect of the content/materials, components of language and images, presentation, and graphic; (2) to determine the improvement of HOTS after participating in learning using teaching materials in the subject matter of pressure and its daily life application; (3) to determine the development of social attitude after participating in learning using teaching material in the subject matter of pressure and its daily life application. The research used 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) by Thiagarajan. The results of this research are (1) teaching material based on scientific method to improve HOTS and develop social attitude in the subject matter of pressure and its daily life application is feasible with a score 147.5 included good category (B); (2). HOTS increased by an average of gain score is 0.45, included in the moderate category; (3) social attitude of cooperation develop from 58.2% to 79.4% and attitude of reponsibilyty develop from 60.6% to 78.2%.Keywords: teaching material, scientific method, HOTS, social attitudes.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an assessment using the Evidence-Centered Design (ECD) approach for dynamic fluid materials, employing the Research and Development (R&D) research method. This assessment research and development uses the ADDIE model, which was limited to the development stage to produce an assessment. The content validity test result for the questions, using Aiken's value, was 0.834, which is categorized as very high and valid. The data collection process in assessment development was carried out through validator input, assessment trial implementation, and student responses obtained through questionnaires as a basis for revision to produce a valid, reliable, and relevant instrument. Data were obtained through a limited trial with one student and a small-scale trial with one class of 12th-grade students using questionnaires. The results of the students' responses indicate that the Evidence-Centered Design (ECD)-based assessment is considered clear, relevant, and helpful for understanding concepts, although some questions were considered difficult. From this series of processes, a dynamic fluid assessment was produced as one alternative for teachers to measure student competency and develop evidence-based assessments.

Abstract

This study aims to test how learning business materials and energy assisted by the integrated flipbook e-module of the Qur'an to improve the spiritual attitude and learning outcomes of students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak. This study used a nonequivalent control group design, with a sample of 38 students of class X of MIPA 1 and 38 students of class X of MIPA 2. The instruments used in this study are tests and questionnaires of spiritual attitudes, using measurement techniques and questionnaire filling techniques. Data analysis was carried out to determine the influence of learning business materials and energy assisted by the Qur'an's integrated flipbook e-module on students' spiritual attitudes and learning outcomes. The results of the study showed that there were differences in spiritual attitudes and learning outcomes before and after learning business and energy materials assisted by the Qur'an-integrated flipbook e-module. The average spiritual attitude score of the experimental class before treatment was 37.26 increased to 65.92 after treatment. The average pretest score of 30.52 increased to 73.87 in the posttest. Furthermore, the effect size score of spiritual attitudes is 5.21 and learning outcomes are 1.56 so that learning of business and energy materials assisted by the integrated flipbook e-module of the Qur'an affects the spiritual attitude and learning outcomes of students. Thus, the integrated physics learning of the Qur'an must be applied in learning at school because it can arouse students' enthusiasm in learning.
