Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan tujuan meningkatkan vocabulary atau kosakata bahasa inggris untuk siswa siswi SDN Murtajih 2 Pamekasan. Selain itu, kegiatan ini meberi pengalaman belajar kosakata bahasa inggris kepada siswa siswi SD dengan menggunakan media flashcard. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini yaitu pendampingan dan pengajaran kepada siswa siswi SD. Target luaran dari kegiatan ini yaitu peningkatan penguasaan vocabulary bahasa inggris siswa siswi SD murtajih 2 Pamekasan. Ada 4 teknik penggunaan media flashcard yang diterapkan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini diantaranya yaitu, Flash, slowly-slowly, What missing?, dan magic eyes. Pada kegiatan ini terlihat siswa siswi aantusias dalam belajar kosakata bahasa inggris dan terdapat peningkatan penguasaan kosakata sehingga diharapkan penggunaan media flashcard bias terus diterapkan oleh guru dalam proses belajar mengajar Bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The demand of qualified midwives in their job field encourages the midwifery academy include English language as the compulsory subject for the students. It is very rare to find the ESP books designed for the students of midwifery. This study is aimed at developing an English material which is specified to the students of Midwifery Academy of Sukma Wijaya Sampang. It was carried out to require the students’ need and interest. It was conducted by using the Research and Development (R & D) design in which the procedures of need assessment, and expert validation were included. The data collection involved a number of instruments, namely questionnaires, interviews, and observation. The questionnaires were applied to the students, and chief of midwifery department on the procedure of need assessment, while the checklist was given to the experts on the process of product validation. All the data were analyzed descriptively and could be concluded that the material was applicable for the students in terms of their attractiveness and appropriateness of the content and level of the difficulty.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to determine the use of translation strategies and the assessment of translation quality in the translation of the Arabic-Indonesian book of Bidāyatul-Hidāyah. The descriptive qualitative research method was used in this study. The data in this study are sentences containing moral values from the book Bidāyatul-Hidāyah and its Indonesian translation. Data were gathered using two methods: listening and recording, as well as a questionnaire. Based on an analysis of 60 data points, three types of translation strategies were identified: syntactic translation strategies (62.8%), semantic translation strategies (8.3%), and pragmatic translation strategies (28.9%). The translation quality assessment results are classified as less accurate, less acceptable, and medium readability, with a final average score of 2.58. The use of syntactic translation strategies can improve the accuracy, acceptability, and readability of translation results. مستخلص تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد تطبيق استراتيجيات الترجمة وتقييم جودة الترجمة في ترجمة كتاب بداية الهداية من العربية إلى الإندونيسية. إن منهج البحث المستخدم في هذا البحث هو المنهج الوصفي النوعي. البيانات الواردة في هذه الدراسة عبارة عن جمل تحتوي على قيم أخلاقية في كتاب بداية الهداية وترجمته باللغة الإندونيسية. تم جمع البيانات باستخدام تقنيتين، وهما الاستماع والتسجيل والاستبيانات. بناءً على تحليل ستين بيانا، وجد أن تطبيق ثلاثة أنواع من استراتيجيات الترجمة، وهي استراتيجيات الترجمة النحوية)٪ ٦٢٬٨) ، واستراتيجيات الترجمة الدلالية )٪٨٬٣) ، والاستراتيجيات العملية )٪٢٨٬٩). يتم تضمين نتائج تقييم جودة الترجمة في المستوى الأقل دقة، والأقل قبولًا، والمستوى المتوسط ​​من المقروئية بمتوسط ​​نهائي يبلغ ٢٬٥٨. إن تنفيذ إستراتيجية الترجمة النحوية قادر على جعل نتائج الترجمة دقيقة ومقبولة ومستوى عالٍ من قابلية القراءة. الكلمات المفتاحية: إستراتيجية الترجمة؛ جودة الترجمة؛ القيمة الأخلاقية؛ كتاب بداية الهداية

Abstract

Posyandu is a basic health activity organized from, by and for the community assisted by health workers. The definition of Posyandu is also a forum for health care carried out from, by and for the community, guided by related officers. Posyandu is a center for community activities in the effort to provide health services and family planning. This routine activity carried out in RW 011 is able to check up to 30 toddlers and toddlers each month and even more. The results of the identification of problems faced by partners are that there are still many lack of parents who are on time in checking their children to the nearest posyandu. The implementation method is by uniting the posyandu in RW 011 so that they can make routine inspections.

Abstract

Hasil FGD (Focous Group Disscussion) yang diadakan di Desa Tanggumong Kabupaten Sampang Tanggal 21 Mei 2024 menyatakan bahwa salah satu prioritas masalah kesehatan yang ada di Desa Tanggumong adalah masalah gizi kurang pada anak. Kelompok anak yang rawan mengalami masalah gizi adalah Balita yaitu bayi 0-5 tahun. Masalah gizi yang sering dialami balita adalah masalah gizi kurang. Gizi kurang didasarkan pada indeks berat badan menurut umur (BB/U) yang merupakan padanan istilah underweight (gizi kurang) dan severely underweight (gizi buruk). Prevalensi gizi kurang di Jawa Timur usia baduta tahun 2018 adalah 11,6%. Sedangkan data prevalensi sangat pendek pada tahun 2018 adalah 15,2%. Angka tersebut masih tinggi jika dibandingkan dengan target pemerintah yaitu menurunkan wasting (terlalu kurus) dari 10,2% di tahun 2018 ke 7% di tahun 2024 dan menurunkan prevalensi stunting dari 30,8% di tahun 2018 ke 14% di tahun 2024. Adanya masalah gizi juga dipengaruhi oleh adanya ketidakmerataan akses kesehatan. Status gizi pada balita dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor seperti pengetahuan orang tua tentang nutrisi seimbang dan kebiasaan makan yang buruk. pengabdi berusaha untuk melakukan inovasi metode untuk mempersuasi ibu dan anak agar lebih memperhatikan kesehatan terutama terkait nutrisi dengan menggunakan cara yang menghibur dan pendekatan yang lebih halus dengan kegiatan pengabdian Persuasi Kesehatan pada Ibu dan Balita Resiko Tinggi melalui Drama Musikalisasi “Ibu Hebat, Anak Hebat”di Desa Tanggumong, Kecamatan Sampang – Madura. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan antusiasme dan pengetahuan responden.

Abstract

The concept of positive education has gained considerable attention in global educational discourse, its practical application within teacher training programs particularly in English education departments remains underexplored. This study aim explores the implementation of positive education principle within English teacher education program. The qualitative research approach is used by employing semi-structured interviews to facilitates an in-depth exploration of participants' experiences and perceptions regarding the implementation of positive education principles. A purposive sampling technique was used to select participants who have relevant experiences and are willing to provide rich insights. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings illustrate that the implementation of positive education in the English education program contributes significantly to both the academic and emotional development of students.

Abstract

It was carried out to require the student’s needs and interests. It was conducted using the Research and Development (R & D) design in which the need assessment procedures and expert validation were included. The data collection involved several instruments, namely questionnaires and interview guidelines. The questionnaires were applied to the students and chief of the midwifery department on the need assessment procedure. At the same time, the checklist was given to the experts on the process of product validation. All the data were analysed descriptively. Its advanced English language textbook consists of fourteen chapters which deliver the texts and activities related to the needs of midwifery students. Besides the essential English skill, this developed book also provides some English vocabulary related to the midwifery context. It concluded that the material applied to students; in terms of their attractiveness, appropriateness of the content and difficulty level.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu memberikan pelatihan penggunaan bahasa Inggris  kepada  mahasiswa lulusan  D3 Keperawatan dan kebidanan sebagai persiapan untuk bekerja ke luar negeri. Dalam hal ini yang peserta dibutuhkan yaitu bahasa Inggris yang berkaitan dengan bidang mereka atau kebutuhan mereka pada dunia kerja yang mereka jalani.  dengan kata lain bahasa Inggris yang dibutuhkan adalah English for specific purpose (ESP). Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan pengajian ini yaitu ceramah, praktek dan tanya jawab.  untuk pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan secara daring ( online)  selama satu bulan yang dimulai pada jam 18.00 sampai jam 19.30 dari hari Senin sampai hari Jumat malam  Melalui platform Zoom meeting. Adapun jumlah peserta pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu berjumlah mahasiswa yang sudah lulus dan akan bekerja di luar negeri.  Ada tiga tahap yang dilaksanakan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu tahap persiapan yang dilakukan oleh dosen selaku narasumber dengan menyiapkan platform, materi atau bahan ajar, dan daftar nama peserta kegiatan. Kemudian untuk tahap pelaksanaan narasumber kegiatan memberi materi bahasa Inggris yang berkaitan dengan kebutuhan peserta pada saat bekerja sebagai tenaga kesehatan di luar negeri.  untuk tahap penutup, Dalam setiap akhir pertemuan, selaku narasumber selalu mereview materi yang sudah diajarkan dan melakukan tanya jawab kepada peserta dan di akhir pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian beserta diberikan ujian berbentuk tanya jawab, atau interview dan ujian tulis untuk memastikan seberapa jauh pemahaman peserta dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini. Selama kegiatan berlangsung peserta atau mahasiswa lulusan D3 Kebidanan dan keperawatan yang mengikuti kegiatan ini terlihat antusias dalam belajar bahasa Inggris terutama kata-kata  (vocabularies) yang berkaitan dengan bidang peserta dan kalimat atau percakapan yang biasa digunakan dalam dunia kerja mereka.

Abstract

Extensive studies have been geared to exploring the implementation of blended learning in education domain. However, there is a paucity of research that examines such implementation from teachers’ perspectives. To fill this gap, the present study investigates the lived experiences of EFL teachers in enacting blended learning during COVID-19 pandemic. To capture the teachers’ stories, a narrative inquiry was employed. Data were garnered through narrative frame, narrative box, and interview guide. Findings suggest that the teachers applied different online platforms to teach English in blended learning, then the school centralized to use Google classroom as the main platform in online class. Furthermore, the lesson, scheduling, Internet connection, and students’ self-regulated learning awareness complicated the implementation of blended learning during COVID-19 pandemic. The paper suggests policymakers to enact online pedagogy based on the actual teacher trainings and maximize schooling facility as a learning support.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has transformed the academic landscape, offering new tools to enhance students’ writing and reasoning skills. This study investigates the effectiveness of ChatGPT in supporting logical reasoning in writing among university students. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, incorporating surveys and semi-structured interviews with 15 students from the English Education Program at Universitas Islam Madura. The study examines how ChatGPT influences argument structuring, idea generation, and clarity in writing, while also identifying potential challenges and limitations. The findings indicate that 93.3% of students perceive ChatGPT as beneficial, particularly in improving logical coherence and content organization. Students reported that ChatGPT helps develop structured arguments, refine transitions, and overcome writing difficulties. However, significant limitations were identified, including the lack of proper citations, occasional inaccuracies, and the risk of over-reliance on AI-generated content. The study highlights the importance of critical evaluation when using ChatGPT, emphasizing that AI should be a supplementary tool rather than a primary knowledge source. These results contribute to ongoing discussions on AI’s role in higher education, underscoring the need for AI literacy training and ethical AI integration in academic writing. The study suggests that future research should explore long-term impacts of AI-assisted learning, real-time citation integration, and AI’s role in fostering independent critical thinking, ensuring AI remains a constructive force in education.
