Abstract

Teaching English to young learners is challenging to the English teachers because young learners have difference point of view and character. Even though  it looks so easy to teach English to young learners, the teachers should not underestimate some aspect before teaching young learners, therefore this article discusses about three aspects that should be considered by the teachers when they teach English to young learners, those are; the strategy when they teach, the characteristics of young learners and the classroom management.

Abstract

In this modern era, on line game become trending topic. Generally, most of people receive game development anthusiastically. The fact, the researchers found that there are many people  spend their spare time in online game center. Moreover, playing online game English Version can affect the students’ English achievement. By playing online game, the students or players will try to understand the instruction stated using English. They will have many English vocabularies on the game then it will increase the English achievement at the school. This research is correlation design which tries to find the correlation between Playing Online Game English Version and Students’ English Achievement by using Pearson Product Moment formula. The population is the students of the third grade of Vocational Senior High School 3 Pamekasan. which consist of 11 classrooms The result. The number of all class consists of 289 students, then the researcher take 33 students as a sample. The result of this research shows that playing online game has a high/strong correlation to the students’ English achievement of the third grade of Vocational Senior High School 3 of Pamekasan. It is proven by observed rxy (0,739) is higher than “r” table of product moment in significance level 5% (0,344) and 1% (0,442). (0,344) means “r” table value of product moment in significance level 5% of 33 respondent. While (0,442) means “r” table value of product moment in significance level 1% of 33 respondent. And (0,739) get from the computation of data analysis both variable X (playing game online) and variable Y (Students’ English achievement).

Abstract

From the preliminary research of the fourth graders of SDN Lawangan Daya 2Pamekasan, it showed that most of the students had a lack of vocabulary mastery. This research is conducted to find an effective and appropriate strategy to improve students‟ vocabulary mastery by using flashcard. Therefore, the appropriate design for this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The researcher implemented the strategy in one cycle, those are: planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The result of the class vocabulay test is analyzed quantitatively, while the result of the data achieved from observation class is analyzed qualitatively. The finding shows that the students‟ vocabulary mastery increase significantly from the preliminary research. The result can be concluded that (1) teaching and learning process needs an appropriate and effecctive strategy, (2) flashcard is considered as an appropriate technique to improve the students‟ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Nowdays, people speak more than one language as multilingual or bilingual. Mostly, Indonesian people usually use Indonesian and English to speak with others in their daily life. This research deals with a study of code mixing used by Cinta Laura Kiehl in Hotman Paris Show. The research problem are how code mixing used by Cinta Laura Kiehl in Hotman Paris Show and what types of code mixing used by Cinta Laura Kiehl in Hotman Paris Show . The objective of this study are to know the code mixing and the types of code mixing used by Cinta Laura Kiehl in Hotman Paris Show. This research use descriptive qualitative method. There are some ways to collect the data. The data collection used are audiovisual materials and documents. The data were collected then analyzed through organizing data, transcribing data and analyzing by hand. This research was found that there are two types of code mixing used by Cinta Laura Kiehl in Hotman Paris Show those are: Insertion code mixing and alternation code mixing. But, the dominant code mixing used is insertion code mixing. Then, the researcher conclude that the data discovered there are 92 data of code mixing. It can be inferred that the highest number of code mixing was insertion which attain 51 data. Meanwhile, code mixing of alternation are 41 data

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu memberikan pelatihan penggunaan bahasa Inggris  kepada  mahasiswa lulusan  D3 Keperawatan dan kebidanan sebagai persiapan untuk bekerja ke luar negeri. Dalam hal ini yang peserta dibutuhkan yaitu bahasa Inggris yang berkaitan dengan bidang mereka atau kebutuhan mereka pada dunia kerja yang mereka jalani.  dengan kata lain bahasa Inggris yang dibutuhkan adalah English for specific purpose (ESP). Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan pengajian ini yaitu ceramah, praktek dan tanya jawab.  untuk pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan secara daring ( online)  selama satu bulan yang dimulai pada jam 18.00 sampai jam 19.30 dari hari Senin sampai hari Jumat malam  Melalui platform Zoom meeting. Adapun jumlah peserta pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu berjumlah mahasiswa yang sudah lulus dan akan bekerja di luar negeri.  Ada tiga tahap yang dilaksanakan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu tahap persiapan yang dilakukan oleh dosen selaku narasumber dengan menyiapkan platform, materi atau bahan ajar, dan daftar nama peserta kegiatan. Kemudian untuk tahap pelaksanaan narasumber kegiatan memberi materi bahasa Inggris yang berkaitan dengan kebutuhan peserta pada saat bekerja sebagai tenaga kesehatan di luar negeri.  untuk tahap penutup, Dalam setiap akhir pertemuan, selaku narasumber selalu mereview materi yang sudah diajarkan dan melakukan tanya jawab kepada peserta dan di akhir pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian beserta diberikan ujian berbentuk tanya jawab, atau interview dan ujian tulis untuk memastikan seberapa jauh pemahaman peserta dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini. Selama kegiatan berlangsung peserta atau mahasiswa lulusan D3 Kebidanan dan keperawatan yang mengikuti kegiatan ini terlihat antusias dalam belajar bahasa Inggris terutama kata-kata  (vocabularies) yang berkaitan dengan bidang peserta dan kalimat atau percakapan yang biasa digunakan dalam dunia kerja mereka.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the use of the Elsa Speak application and the listening achievement of class XI IPA students at MA Al-Djufri, involving 26 students. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire and test, which showed that students obtained an average score of 89.62 after using the application. The results of the study showed a significant positive correlation, with a correlation coefficient of 0.670, which indicates that regular use of the Elsa Speak application can improve listening achievement. This shows that the application plays an important role in improving students' listening achievement, which confirms a strong relationship between the use of the application and students' listening achievement.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Instagram quizzes as an interactive tool for enhancing vocabulary acquisition and grammar comprehension among English learners. This research employs a qualitative narrative inquiry approach, involving in-depth interviews and observational analysis of fifth-semester English language students at Universitas Islam Madura. Findings reveal that Instagram quizzes significantly enhance student engagement, motivation, and knowledge retention due to their interactive and gamified nature. A comparative analysis highlights the superiority of Instagram quizzes over traditional learning methods in terms of accessibility, immediacy of feedback, and sustained learner interest. However, challenges such as internet dependency, screen fatigue, and over-reliance on digital tools underscore the necessity for a balanced pedagogical approach.
