Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate and assess how the use of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) with RatioLib has improved the mathematical problem-solving abilities and self-confidence of seventh-grade students at SMP Maitreyawira Batam in the area of comparing two amounts. In this study, a mixed methods design is used. A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group approach is used in the quantitative phase. The two sets of research participants are the experimental group, which received PBL with RatioLib's assistance, and the control group, which received PBL without RatioLib. Tests were used to gauge mathematical problem-solving abilities, while questionnaires were used to gauge self-confidence. Several students participated in in-depth interviews throughout the qualitative phase to learn more about their learning experiences, opinions about RatioLib, and the elements affecting the development of their problem-solving abilities and self-assurance. The findings of the study should give a thorough picture of how PBL, with RatioLib's help, has been used to boost students' confidence and mathematical problem-solving abilities while also contributing to the creation of more efficient math instruction.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of the effectiveness of the Full Day School system on character formation among students at SD Muhammadiyah 23 Medan. The increasing moral degradation and juvenile delinquency in society have prompted the implementation of Full Day School as a solution to reinforce students’ character by extending school hours to 9-10 hours daily. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the contribution of Full Day School effectiveness in shaping student character. Employing a quantitative approach with simple linear regression analysis, data were collected through validated questionnaires from a sample of 170 students. The results show a significant positive effect of Full Day School effectiveness on character formation, with a regression coefficient of 2.390 and a determination coefficient (R²) of 0.646, indicating that 64.6% of the variance in character development can be explained by the Full Day School system. Thus, Full Day School plays a crucial role in fostering values such as discipline, honesty, religiosity, tolerance, and social cooperation. The study indicates the necessity of support from both school and family environments to optimize character education. These findings offer practical insights for educational institutions aiming to improve students’ moral development through extended learning hours and structured activities.

Abstract

Industri Kecil Menengah (IKM) merupakan penyumbang pendapatan negara terbesar di Indonesia, namun pada kenyataannya mutu produk IKM fabrikasi manufaktur memiliki tren negatif. Hal ini dikarenakan produk IKM fabrikasi manufaktur memiliki tingkat kecacatan yang cukup signifikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) menganalisis tingkat cacat produk, (2) menganalisis tingkat penerapan Total Quality Management (TQM) (3) menganalisis faktor-faktor yang signifikan mengurangi cacat. Klaster IKM fabrikasi manufaktur yang terletak di kelurahan bantargebang,sumur batu dan cikiwul terletak di Kecamatan bantargebang, kota bekasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan 109 responden melalui kuesioner, data diolah dengan regresi linear berganda. Hasil TQM berdampak signifikan untuk mengurangi cacat produk, maka IKM jenis ini perlu menerapkan TQM secara konsisten.
