In this context, there is a youth community called "Komunitas Berbagi Berkah" that has been actively involved in efforts to help others. "Komunitas Berbagi Berkah" was founded by three graduates of the Tapak Sunan Islamic boarding school who were inspired by the important message of mutual assistance and sharing. Currently, this community still operates informally, and to enhance its positive impact, there is a need to establish a legal entity such as a foundation or association. Abstract

The development of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) has impacted various fields, including higher education. This research examines the use of GAI as an evaluator and feedback provider in distance legal education. This study tested five GAI models: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Bing, and You, using a sample of 20 students and evaluations from legal experts. Descriptive statistical analysis and non-parametric tests, including Wilcoxon, intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), Kappa, and Kendall's W, were used to assess accuracy, feedback quality, and usability. The results showed that ChatGPT was the most effective GAI, with the highest mean scores of 4.22 from experts and 4.12 from students, followed by Gemini with scores of 4.15 and 4.07. In terms of binary judgement accuracy, Gemini scored 80%, ChatGPT 60%, while Perplexity, Bing, and You had lower scores. Statistical analysis showed moderate agreement (ICC=0.439) and low alignment (Kappa=-0.058) between the GAIs and expert evaluations, with a Kendall's W value of 0.576 indicating moderate consistency in judgements. These findings emphasize the importance of selecting effective GAIs such as ChatGPT and Gemini to improve academic evaluation and learning in legal education, and pave the way for further innovations in the use of AI.

Abstract

Along with the development of increasingly modern globalization, the authority and existence of customary institutions for dispute resolution began to be questioned, especially now that some people tend to resolve their disputes through formal institutions such as state courts and the police. This article examines the legal politics of the existence of customary courts in civil procedure law. The research approach is normative juridic and is analyzed through qualitative juridic, which studies data based on legal aspects. The study's findings indicate that legal discrepancies regarding customary justice in the law of civil events remain. However, there is a history of cooperation between the state and the village courts as regulated in Article 86 letter A, article 103, paragraphs (2) and (3). article 120 letter a and article 135 letter a HIR (KUH Perdata Hindia Belanda). Since the entry into force of Emergency Law No. 1 of 1951, these articles have been abrogated, except for Article 135 letter a HIR. The practical implications of the political study of customary law include adopting a common law recognizing the right to justice for indigenous peoples in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article aims to map the typology of non-Muslim scholarship in contemporary Islamic studies by examining its institutional position within American and European universities, the fields and methodologies it employs, and the theoretical frameworks it produces. This aim arises from a critique of the stigmatized and reductionist view held by some Muslim (insider) scholars who regard non-Muslim (outsider) scholarship as a monolithic intellectual bloc. This study adopts a library research design with literature selection criteria that include the use of English- and Indonesian-language sources as dominant academic languages; a publication range from the 1980s to the 2020s as a representation of contemporary developments; the prioritization of seminal primary works and relevant secondary sources; and a focus on literature addressing Islamic studies methodologies, the insider–outsider approach, and the evolution of the revisionist school. Data were analyzed through a qualitative, descriptive-explanatory approach consisting of three methodological steps: data reduction, data presentation, and data interpretation and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that non-Muslim scholarship in Islamic studies is not monolithic but can be identified through four typologies: descriptive-traditionalist, historical-critical-traditionalist, historical-critical-revisionist, and skeptical-revisionist. These findings affirm that works and ideas from non-Muslim scholars that may appear negative should be understood as a consequence of specific methodological choices. Consequently, rejecting particular theses advanced by non-Muslim scholarship does not necessarily entail the arbitrary rejection of its broader epistemological and methodological frameworks.
