Abstract

The market is a place where interaction between sellers and buyers occurs. In the process of interaction, someone in expressing an opinion should be a speaker expressing in a language that can be understood together. Language is a sign system of arbitrary, free or arbitrary sounds that community members use to cooperate, interact and identify themselves.  The purpose of this study is to explore and elaborate the form of directive speech acts of panam morning market traders. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The commissive speech acts used by traders in peddling their wares were found to be two types of commissive speech acts, namely promising, and offering. After using unique and varied speech, the influence caused by the speech of traders in the Panam morning market was able to attract buyersThe study of directive speech acts and commissive speech acts in interaction speech events in traders in the Panam morning market produced varied findings about the types of directive speech acts and types of commissive speech acts.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bolavoli siswa SMPN 1 Siak Hulu melalui penerapan metode Drill. Metode ini melibatkan penjelasan teknik dasar, khususnya servis bawah dan passing bawah, yang diikuti dengan praktik berpasangan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama 4 pertemuan dengan partisipasi mitra lokal dalam menyediakan fasilitas lapangan bolavoli. Dengan penerapan strategi pembelajaran yang terarah dan berfokus pada pengembangan keterampilan, kami telah berhasil menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam keterampilan siswa kelas VII. Evaluasi melibatkan observasi, tes praktik, dan umpan balik siswa. Metode Drill terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap teknik dasar bolavoli. Partisipasi aktif mitra lokal memperkuat kelancaran kegiatan pembinaan, menekankan pentingnya keterlibatan masyarakat dalam pendidikan olahraga. Rencana program kelanjutan berupa pertandingan antar kelas diusulkan untuk mempertahankan minat siswa. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan strategi pembelajaran olahraga di tingkat SMP dan menunjukkan potensi pemberdayaan mitra lokal. Implikasi hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat diaplikasikan di sekolah-sekolah serupa, mempromosikan pembinaan keterampilan olahraga sebagai bagian integral dari pendidikan siswa.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan karakter positif pada siswa. Karakter positif itu salah satunya adalah kesantunan berbahasa. Permasalahan karakter ini bukanlah permasalahan yang sepele dan dapat diabaikan begitu saja. Saat ini dapat kita lihat bagaimana orang banyak yang cerdas secara intelektual tetapi tidak cerdas dalam bersikap dan berkomunikasi. Bangsa ini memerlukan anak muda yang cerdas secara kognitif, emosional dan spiritual agar nilai-nilai luhur dari bangsa ini tetap dapat dipertahankan dan bangsa Indonesia tetap dapat bersaing dengan negara-negara luar. Metode dalam Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah persiapan, pelaksanaan dan penyelesaian. Pertama, terdapat peningkatan pemahaman siswa SMPN 1 Tualang terhadap kesantunan linguistik. Kedua, dari empat kriteria kesantunan linguistik yang ada siswa lebih dominan menggunakan penanda ungkapan kesantunan. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh siswa ketika melakukan tuturan imperative banyak yang menggunakan penanda kesantunan tolong dan mohon. Ketiga, orang tua dan guru adalah orang yang selalu berkomunikasi dengan siswa sehingga yang dapat memantau dan memberikan bimbingan secara terus menerus kepada siswa tersebut. Keempat, siswa yang diberikan pemahaman dan pendampingan dapat meningkatkan kesantunan berbahasanya. Kata Kunci : kesantunan linguistik, penyuluhan, siswa ABSTRACT This Community Service activity aims to foster positive character in students. One of the positive characters is politeness in language. This character problem is not a trivial problem and can be ignored. Currently, we can see how many people are intellectually intelligent but not intelligent in their behavior and communication. This nation needs young people who are cognitively, emotionally and spiritually intelligent so that the noble values of this nation can be maintained and the Indonesian nation can continue to compete with foreign countries. The method for Community Service is preparation, implementation and completion. First, there is an increase in the understanding of students at SMPN 1 Tualang regarding linguistic politeness. Second, of the four existing linguistic politeness criteria, students predominantly use markers of politeness expressions. This is caused by many students when making imperative speeches who use the politeness markers please and beg. Third, parents and teachers are people who always communicate with students so that they can monitor and provide continuous guidance to these students. Fourth, students who are given understanding and assistance can improve their language politeness. Keyword : linguistic politeness, counseling, students

Abstract

This research is motivated by the tendency of netizens to convey psychological attitudes on social media. The delivery of these psychological attitudes sometimes needs attention to language politeness. This research is necessary because it answers the challenge of understanding how politeness of language changes in the context of social media supported by digital technology, which is rarely discussed in conventional pragmatic studies. The problem in this study is how politeness of expressive speech acts from a cyber pragmatics perspective. This study explores and elaborates on the realization of politeness maxims politeness principles based on the perspective of cyber pragmatics. The approach used in this study is qualitative, and the content analysis method was applied. This study's data source is netizens' language activity on the comments page of the Instagram account @detikcom on June 9, 2023, totaling 2509 comments. The data in this study amounted to 511 data, which are expressive speech. The data collection techniques used are documentation techniques and reading techniques. The data analysis technique is carried out in three stages: identification, classification, and interpretation of research results. Regarding the principle of politeness, netizens' comments are considered impolite based on the maxim of tact, the maxim of approbation, and the maxim of agreement, which significantly impact online communication behavior. The reason is that netizens do not maximize their benefits, approbation, and conformity with other parties but instead express their psychological attitudes by throwing out insults, ridicule, and rejections that can cause harm to other parties. Meanwhile, netizens are considered polite for the maxim of modesty and sympathy. Most sympathy is directed at the Indonesian people who must bear the country's debt.

Abstract

This PkM activity was motivated by the PkM team's concerns regarding the rampant verbal bullying in educational units. This PkM activity aims to provide awareness to students about the importance of implementing polite language as an effort to prevent verbal bullying. The PkM activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 3 Bandar Sei Kijang. The PkM participants numbered 22 students. The PkM activity lasted for one day, namely December 16, 2024. The PkM team consisted of five people consisting of three lecturers and two students. All members of the PkM team came from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Riau Islamic University. The PkM method uses an educational approach in the form of counseling and mentoring. The PkM activity began with the delivery of counseling material on polite language as an effort to prevent verbal bullying. Furthermore, PKM participants were invited to discuss and fill out a questionnaire that had been prepared by the PkM team. The PkM results showed that the PkM activity ran smoothly and all PkM participants were actively involved and enthusiastic in participating in the series of PkM activities. PkM participants agreed that verbal bullying is done by using words to mock, belittle, or insult others. PkM participants stated that they had experienced verbal bullying and had been perpetrators of verbal bullying. Furthermore, PkM participants stated that the school environment is an environment where verbal bullying often occurs. Finally, PkM participants agreed that the application of polite language can reduce verbal bullying.
