Abstract

One of the materials in chemistry learning where there are many abstract concepts is the shape of a molecule (Molecular Geometry). An ethnopedagogical approach will make the learning process meaningful because the material is associated with a cultural product from the Palembang area. The research procedure used is Research and Development research developed by Borg & Gall. The preliminary study and development phases were carried out in the first year of this research, while the field trial phase will be carried out in the following year. This research focuses on the development stage which consists of (1) the Initial Product Development Stage in the form of making mobile learning displays, creating application content, and developing applications; (2) the Initial Trial Stage (Learning Media Validation Test) based on media, language, and material experts; and (3) Initial Product Completion Stage. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that mobile learning based on augmented reality is an added value because it is very flexible and helps students project their understanding. In addition, this application can improve students' spatial abilities and be able to analyze cultural contexts in everyday life in chemistry learning materials

Abstract

The rapid development of technology today cannot be separated from the role of various kinds of machines to produce or increase the use value of an item. The more the engine operates, the more lubricant is used. Lubricants are included in the category of B3 waste (Toxic Hazardous Materials) so that they have a negative impact on the environment. Nearly 50% of all mineral lubricants enter the environment and cause irreparable environmental damage due to direct contact with water and soil. One of the efforts that can be done to reduce the B3 content in used lubricants is adsorption using a porous adsorbent. This study aims to see the relationship between the physical and chemical properties of the adsorbent with the physical and chemical properties of the adsorbate. This research was conducted by studying the literature of scientific articles with related topics. The results showed that some contaminants such as organic compounds, inorganic species, soot, hydrocarbons, and ash can be adsorbed with various adsorbents, namely modified sawdust, bentonite, fly ash, activated carbon, activated alumina, and zeolite Y derived from kaolin.

Abstract

Kemampuan menyajikan suasana belajar interaktif merupakan hal penting bagi para pendidik dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran yang efektif. Salah satu solusi yang dapat digunakan adalah pembuatan kuis Kahoot! dengan bantuan Bard. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pelatihan bagi para pendidik dalam pembuatan kuis Kahoot! berbantuan Bard. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan ceramah, demonstrasi, dan praktik secara luring dengan dukungan fasilitator. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta didik melalui pembuatan kuis Kahoot! berbantuan Bard. Meskipun demikian, kendala seperti ketidakstabilan sinyal internet dan batas karakter dalam soal Kahoot! juga diidentifikasi. Solusi untuk mengatasi kendala ini melibatkan integrasi teknologi yang lebih efektif dalam pembelajaran, meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta didik, dan memfasilitasi pemahaman konten yang lebih baik. Rekomendasi untuk kegiatan pengabdian mendatang meliputi eksplorasi penggunaan platform pembelajaran berbasis game lainnya.

Abstract

The problem discussed in this study is how to improve learning outcomes and student learning activities using the discovery learning method with colloidal system material for class XI MIPA SMA IT Istiqomah Temanggung. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes and learning activities of XI MIPA SMA IT Istiqomah Temanggung students about colloidal system material using discovery learning methods. The research data were obtained from 18 students in class XI MIPA SMA IT Istiqomah Temanggung. When the research was conducted in semester 2 of the 2022/2023 school year. This classroom action research was conducted for 2 cycles. The collection of material understanding data was measured by understanding tests and student learning activities were measured by observing student learning activities. Data analysis was grouped based on data on students who were able to achieve KKM on student learning outcomes and learning activities. The Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) for chemistry subject class XI is 70. The learning outcomes of students in cycle 1 who achieved KKM were 7 students (39%). In cycle 2 there was an increase in student learning outcomes to 15 students (83%) who achieved KKM. Student learning activities consist of 3 aspects, namely the aspect of discussion ability, learning interaction and presenting the results of the discussion. From the observations of student learning activities in cycle 1, there were 7 students (39%) who achieved KKM scores. In cycle 2 student learning activities increased to 18 students (100%) who achieved KKM scores.

Abstract

Peranan lahan pekarangan secara tidak langsung mampu mempengaruhi ekonomi rumah tangga, namun dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan rumah tangga bila dilakukan secara optimal. permasalahan utama di Desa Tajur Halang khususnya bagi RT 01 RW 02 Desa Tajur Halang Kec. Tajur Halang Kabupaten Bogor dalam program pegabdian kepada masyarakat di Desa Tajur Halang dapat ditinjau dari tingkat ekonomi masyarakat setempat dan dari kesadaran masyarakat terhadap  pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan yang tersedia. Kegiatan pengabdian dosen Universitas Terbuka ini berfokus pada peningkatan kreativitas masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan bahan alam atau tanaman yang terdapat di lingkungan sekitar masyarakat secara tepat guna dan arif, peningkattan kreativitas masyarakat untuk dapat mengembangkan pembuatan lilin aromaterapi dari berbagai jenis tanaman aromatik lainnya yang pada akhirnya akan menumbuhkan kesadaran dan kreativitas masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan segala sumber daya potensial yang mereka miliki secara optimal. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah metode ceramah, demonstrasi, praktek, monitoring serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian semua warga belajar dapat memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan menjadi efektif dan dapat membuat lilin aromaterapi. The role of house yard can indirectly affect the household economy, also can be used to improve household welfare. The main problem in Tajur Halang Village, especially for RT 01 RW 02 Tajur Halang Village, Bogor Regency in the community service program in Tajur Halang Village can be viewed from the economic level of the local community and community awareness of the use of available yards. This Open University lecturer service activity focuses on increasing community creativity in utilizing natural materials or plants found in the environment around the community efficiently and wisely, increasing community creativity to be able to develop the manufacture of aromatherapy candles from various other types of aromatic plants which will eventually raise awareness and community creativity to optimally utilize all the potential resources they have. The methods used in this community service activity are lectures, demonstrations, practice, monitoring, and evaluation methods. The results of the community service activities for all learning residents can make effective use of the yard area and can make aromatherapy candles.

Abstract

Abstrak: Digitalisasi yang terus berkembang memberikan tantangan tersendiri bagi para guru untuk dapat menunjukkan profesionalismenya dalam merancang pembelajaran yang praktis, dinamis, menarik, interaktif, dan berpusat pada siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan sebagai solusi untuk memberdayakan guru dalam rangka memperkuat kompetensi digital dan meningkatkan kreativitas guru SMA di Jakarta guna merancang pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif melalui pembuatan bahan ajar e-modul dengan memanfaatkan berbagai platform: Canva, Edpuzzle, dan Google Form. Kegiatan pelatihan diberikan melalui tiga pertemuan dengan menggunakan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, simulasi, dan praktik terbimbing. Kegiatan pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 23 peserta. asil dari kegiatan pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan mampu meningkatkan lebih dari 80% keyakinan diri dalam menggunakan Canva, Edpuzzle, dan Google Form secara mandiri dalam pembelajaran serta memberikan pengalaman baru dalam memanfaatkan tiga platform sekaligus. Rekomendasi untuk ke depannya adalah perlunya pelatihan lanjutan terkait pemanfaatan teknologi AI dalam pembuatan bahan ajar yang akan digunakan di kelas.Abstract: The rapid advancement of digitalization presents unique challenges for teachers to demonstrate their professionalism in designing practical, dynamic, engaging, interactive, and student-centered learning experiences. This community service program was implemented as a solution to empower senior high school teachers at a senior high school in Jakarta by enhancing their digital competence and fostering creativity through the development of e-learning materials using multiple platforms: Canva, Edpuzzle, and Google Forms. The training was conducted over three sessions using a combination of lectures, demonstrations, simulations, and guided practice. A total of 23 teachers participated in this program. The results indicate that the training significantly increased participants' self-confidence by over 80% in independently utilizing Canva, Edpuzzle, and Google Forms in their teaching practices. Moreover, the program offered new learning experiences by integrating the use of these three platforms. Future recommendations include the need for continued training, particularly in the integration of AI-based technologies for the development of digital instructional materials.

Abstract

This study aims to design and validate an initial concept of a collaborative Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based learning platform tailored for the context of distance learning. The research employed a descriptive-exploratory design with a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative data were collected through a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire administered to 23 chemistry education students, while qualitative data were obtained from open-ended questions and expert reviews involving four subject matter experts. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques, including the calculation of mean scores and reliability testing with Cronbach’s Alpha, whereas qualitative data were analyzed through thematic analysis to identify key themes and insights. The results indicate high user demand for integrated features, including scheduled consultations with lecturers (M = 4.52), collaborative group work within a single platform (M = 4.39), direct upload and feedback mechanisms (M = 4.26), activity logs and contribution rubrics (M = 4.21), and online project presentations (M = 4.17). Expert evaluations confirmed the alignment of the proposed design with PBL stages while emphasizing three prerequisites for implementation: (i) an intuitive interface that minimizes user cognitive load, (ii) concise orientation or training sessions for both lecturers and students, and (iii) connectivity mitigation strategies such as low-bandwidth modes and asynchronous alternatives. These findings provide an evidence-based foundation for subsequent prototyping and pilot testing to ensure the platform’s effectiveness in enhancing collaboration, process transparency, and learner engagement in distance PBL contexts. The study's outcomes are expected to contribute to the development of innovative learning platforms that support student-centered learning and foster collaborative problem-solving skills in online learning environments.
