Abstract

Unwanted pregnancy and pregnancy termination generally occurs in adolescents who want to prevent or delay childbirth and have limited access to contraception. Women and girls have unmet contraceptive needs, so that unwanted pregnancies and unsafe abortions are considered normal. The latest data states that 7% of girls aged 15 to 19 will become pregnant and 2% of girls in this age group will have an abortion. Decision making for women before carrying out intentional abortions is influenced by several factors including individual level factors namely marital status, education level, economic independence and whether the woman is a victim of rape or incest. Interpersonal factors such as parent and partner support are also found as influences in decision making, because they have social determinants such as religion and social stigma and norms that exist. The aim of this study was to find out how adolescents make decisions about abortion as an end to unwanted pregnancies.

Abstract

Iron deficiency anemia in mothers can harm the fetus/baby's growth and development during and after pregnancy. To prevent this, every pregnant woman should take at least 90 blood supplement tablets (TTD). Iron tablets are crucial for fetal growth, as pregnancy increases the mother's blood volume, requiring more iron for nutrition and oxygen supply to the fetus. A quantitative cross-sectional design is used in this study, targeting all TM III pregnant women at the Bumi Aji Community Health Center in Central Lampung. A total of 46 individuals were selected through total sampling. Univariate analysis utilized a table of frequency distribution, and bivariate analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test. The research results, categorized by inclusion and exclusion samples, highlighted the respondents' age and education level. A questionnaire was used to assess maternal knowledge regarding Fe tablets and their link to anemia. The study found a relationship between knowledge of Fe tablets and anemia among third trimester pregnant women at the Bumi Aji Community Health Center, Central Lampung, in 2024, using the ChiSquare method for calculations. There is a link between knowledge of Fe tablets and anemia in pregnant women in the third trimester at the Bumi Aji Health Center, Central Lampung in 2024, with an ap value of 0.008.

Abstract

Background: Iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) is a significant health problem among adolescents, especially in Indonesia. The prevalence of iron deficiency anemia in children in Indonesia reached 28.1% according to Riskesdas in 2018. Low knowledge and inadequate iron intake are the main factors causing this anemia. This can have an impact on their health and learning ability. Anemia in adolescent girls can cause fatigue, decreased concentration, and impaired growth and development. Health education plays an important role in improving schoolgirls' knowledge about anemia, the importance of iron, and how to take Fe tablets correctly. Objective: This community service aims to analyze the effect of providing health education about IDA on the knowledge level of female students of SD N 3 Tlogowatu. Methods: questionnaires and lectures. Results: The pretest and posttest results of schoolgirls' knowledge about the effect of Fe tablet consumption on anemia increased to 94%. Conclusion: Increased knowledge is expected to increase awareness and compliance of schoolgirls in taking good nutritions and also suplementation such Fe tablets, thus contributing to the prevention and control of IDA. Suggestion: this is expected to contribute to improving the health and quality of life of primary school students, as well as provide a basis for the development of more effective health education programs.

To reduce this anxiety, lemon aromatherapy may help by calming muscles and nerves. The study aimed to determine if lemon aromatherapy effectively lowers anxiety in pregnant women during early labor. Study methods: study design that uses a control group and a quasi-experimental pre- and post-test design. There are 46 active phase I maternity moms in the research group. Total sampling is the method of sampling. There were 23 participants in each group. Frequency distribution table for univariate data analysis, MC Nemar test and chi square test for bivariate analysis. Results: According to the study's findings, 23 individuals (100%) in the control group and the intervention group had moderate anxiety levels before to the intervention. Following the session, anxiety levels in the control group of 13 individuals (56.5%) and the intervention group of 18 individuals (78.3%) dropped to mild levels. The chi square test findings between the intervention group and the control group showed a p-value of = 0.046 (p<0.05), while the Mc Nemar test results showed a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05). Conclusion: Lemon aromatherapy has an impact on maternity moms' anxiety levels during the initial active period.

L Bolenglang, Ciamis Regency. Methods: This type of research is quantitative, namely pre-experimental with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The sample was divided into two groups: the experimental group which was given ajwa dates and the control group without ajwa dates. Results: statistical test results using the T test obtained a tcount value of 2.104 when compared to the ttable value (1.761) then the tcount value is greater than ttable (2.104 > 1.761), then H0 is rejected. Abstract

One of the recommendations made by the World Health Organization (WHO) to prevent protracted labor is to move and change positions frequently during labor. In most private hospitals, however, labor induction, continuous fetal monitoring in a supine position, and immobilization of the woman during labor are normal procedures. The peanut ball is useful tool for addressing these issues and putting WHO recommendations into practice. It allows for frequent positioning changes without interfering with labor procedures. This study aimed to determine effectiveness of peanut ball on the duration of first stage of labour.  A systematic literature review. A comprehensive electronic search was carried out with time limit from April 2019 until April 2024. Collected data were analysed by identifying, assessing, and interpreting all findings on a research topic, to answer research questions that have been determined previously. Results: The analysis on twelve clinical trials showed that the use of peanut ball has statistically significant reduce length of the first stage. Suggestion: Further clinical trials with stronger evidence should be carried out to assess the effectiveness of peanut ball on length of first stage of labour.
