Abstract

Pendidikan IPA merupakan wadah untuk para peserta didik dalam memahami pembelajaran secara teoritis maupun praktis. Dengan memasukkan unsur SETS dalam pembelajaran IPA, siswa akan dibimbing untuk menemukan dan mengungkap penyebab dari permasalahan yang timbul serta kemungkinan yang menyebabkan dampak bagi lingkungan dan masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah sebagaimana focus pada penelitian (1) Apakah Implementasi Pendekatan SETS dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik, (2) Bagaimana Pendekatan SETS dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik dan (3) Apakah kelemahan dan kelebihan dalam implementasi Pendekatan SETS dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (classrom action research). Data yang dikumpulkan melalui (1) tes tertulis, (1) observasi dan (3) dokumentasi. Analisis pengumpulan data menggunakan (1) Teknik analisis data hasil observasi dan (2) Teknik analisis data hasil tes. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) melalui pendekatan SETS dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. (2) Pendekatan SETS dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan cara melakukan perbaikan atau tindakan dalam setiap siklus. (3) Kelebihan pendekatan SETS adalah Siswa lebih semangat belajar dan sangat merespon penjelasan guru dan kelemahan pendekatan SETS adalah Pengawasan guru terhadap siswa yang sedang belajar masih belum maksimal, tetapi dalam memberikan bimbingan dan motivasi belajar sudah cukup baik.

Abstract

ABSTRACTStimulation of children's growth and development with innovative media during the golden age is very important. This service is carried out with the aim of helping partner problems related to the lack of teacher creativity in designing fun teaching and learning activities so that they can lead children to the proper stages of cognitive, language, and social emotional development. The method consists of several stages including socialization, assistance in writing and compiling stories, training and assistance in designing story telling media based on pop up frames, mentoring learning techniques and PBM practices, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The results of the implementation show that partners play an active role in participating in training and mentoring activities. At the stage of socialization, the teacher asked questions and shared learning at KB Isykarima. At the training stage, partners also play an active role in discussions with group friends in compiling stories that contain elements of character. Next, the teacher mentoring stage was carried out to practice making story telling media based on pop up frames and continued with the practice of story telling learning activities using pop up frames. The evaluation stage was carried out through distributing questionnaires using google forms. Keywords: Learning Media, Pop up frame, Storytelling, Early Childhood  ABSTRAK Stimulasi tumbuh kembang anak dengan media inovatif pada masa golden age sangat penting dilakukan agar dapat meminimalisasi disfungsi tumbuh kembang. Untuk itu, pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan membantu permasalahan mitra terkait kurangnya kreatifitas guru dalam merancang aktifitas belajar mengajar yang menyenangkan sehingga dapat mengantarkan anak pada tahapan perkembangan kognitif, bahasa, dan sosial emosional yang seharusnya. Adapun metode pelaksanakan program ini terdiri dari beberapa tahap meliputi sosialisasi, pendampingan menulis dan menyusun cerita, training dan pendampingan mendesain media story telling berbasis pop up frame, pendampingan teknik pembelajaran dan praktik PBM, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa mitra berperan aktif dalam mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan. Pada tahap sosialisasi guru aktif bertanya dan sharing pembelajaran di KB Isykarima. Pada tahap pelatihan, mitra juga berperan aktif dalam diskusi dengan teman kelompok menyusun cerita yang memuat unsur karakter. Selanjutnya dilakukan tahap pendampingan guru melakukan praktik membuat media story telling berbasis pop up frame dan dilanjutkan praktik kegiatan pembelajaran story telling menggunakan pop up frame. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner menggunakan google form tentang pemahaman mitra dan keberhasilan mitra dalam praktik membuat media story telling berbasis pop up frame. Kata Kunci: Media Pembelajaran, Pop up frame, Storytelling, Anak Usia Dini

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter dalam islam biasa dikenal dengan pendidikan akhlak. Pendidikan akhlak tersebut sudah diperkenalkan oleh Allah SWT melalui perilaku Rasulullah SAW. pada universitas bercorak islami seperti Universitas Wahid Hasyim. Universitas yang tidak hanya berfokus pada ilmu pegetahuan semata namun juga menanamkan karakter islami Ahlussunah Wal Jama’ah guna menunjang kemampuan hardskill serta softskill mahasiswanya untuk mempersiapkan kebutuhan dan persaingan pada era mendatang. Sejalan dengan prinsip NU yang telah merumuskan beberapa prinsip dalam hal mengantisipasi persoalan sosial keagamaan, yaitu tasamuh (toleran), tawazun (seimbang/harmoni), tawasut (moderat), ta’adul (keadilan), dan amar ma’ruf nahi munkar. Sejalan dengan prinsip tersebut penelitian ini mengupas tentang bagaimana penerapan atau implementasi pendidikan karakter islam dalam kelas bahasa Inggris. Diketahui bahwa bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa universal. Bahasa yang dimiliki oleh barat, sehingga bahasa tersebut akan secara tidak langsung akan terpengaruh oleh budaya barat. Oleh karenanya, misi universitas wahid hasyim yang Ahlussunah Wal Jama’ah dan mempertimbangkan akhlak dari Rasulullah, peneliti menggabungkan karakter tersebut untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh penggunaan pendidikan karakter Islam pada universitas wahid hasyim. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dosen telah menerapkan pendidikan karakter Islam dalam kelas bahasa Inggris.  Sehingga mahasiswa mendapatkan karakter islam dalam kelas yang sejalan dengan misi universitas. Namun, pendidikan karakter islam yang diterapkan oleh dosen saat ini masih berbeda-beda dalam penyampaian, sehingga hasilnya juga berbeda. Hal inilah yang mendasari peneliti memberikan Focus Group Discussion yang kemudian disepakati untuk pertemuan rutin sebelum semester dimulai. Kemudian dosen-dosen juga menginginkan kolaborasi pembuatan modul yang sesuai dengan karakter Islam yang ada di lingkup universitas wahid hasyim.  Sehingga tidak ada perbedaan penyampaian dan hasil dari penerapan pendidikan karakter islam dalam kelas bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Semantic word is actually a technical term that refers to the study of meaning. Semantics in Indonesian derived from the Greek 'sema' (noun) which means 'sign' or 'symbol'. The verb is 'semaino' which means 'mark' or 'symbolize'. The present study aims to examine the factors that can affect the shift of meaning in Indonesian based on current linguistic context. This study used qualitative research where the intent is to provide a detailed, in-depth description of everyday life. Data was taken from Indonesian language that may address particular themes that may facilitate the use of specific linguistic features. It tends to capture the reality of social life taking place in Indonesia. The result of this study shows that the type of meaning can be distinguished based on some criteria and points of view. The findings indicate that the type of meaning can be distinguished based on semantic types, namely between lexical meaning and grammatical meaning; based on the presence or absence of referents in a word, to distinguish the referential meanings and non-referential; based on the presence or absence of a sense of value in a word, to distinguish the connotative meaning and denotative; based on accuracy of its meaning, to distinguish the meaning of the term or the common meaning and special significance; kind of meaning can also be classified into two types, namely lexical meaning and contextual meaning

Abstract

The urgency of this service is based on women in lower middleclass communities, especially in the Fatayat Ds. Salakan who always tries to escape the shackles of economic difficulties. The emergence of Socioeconomics which is widespread and developing in society is a signal that productivity and creativity are the main elements in improving the welfare of life. The Socioeconomic-based mentoring concept implemented is not only focused on activities to improve the economic level of the assisted residents, but also pays attention to environmental and social issues. This service aims to develop productivity and creativity using a socioecopreneurship approach with the focus of service being on three things, including (1) Providing counseling and outreach to assisted subjects with the theme: "The Importance of Socio-Economic Independence for Women through Entrepreneurship"; (2) Empowering assisted subjects by maximizing their potential in the form of training (production, packaging, distribution, and marketing) by bringing in competent experts in their respective fields; and (3) Provide post-training assistance. The results of this service are marked by an increase in production numbers, variants, business turnover, and marketing expanding into e-commerce.

Abstract

This study aims to provide educators with evidence-based insights that can inform instructional practices and ultimately enhance students' overall reading experiences. The implementation of literature circles as an instructional strategy has garnered significant attention within educational research, particularly in the domain of promoting student engagement in reading. This study uses a mixed-methods research design that combines both quantitative and qualitative approaches. This approach allows for a comprehensive exploration of the impact of literature circles on student engagement in reading while capturing both numerical trends and nuanced insights. The findings of this research illuminate the transformative potential of literature circles as a pedagogical strategy that positively influenced students’ engagement and enthusiasm. The researcher leverages the insights gleaned from this study to design and implement literature circles that foster collaborative learning, engagement, and intrinsic motivation. In conclusion, this study underscores the value of literature circles as a tool for educators aiming to create compelling and motivating reading experiences. By embracing the collaborative essence of literature circles and harnessing the potential of role assignments, the educators can guide students on a journey of exploration, discovery, and ownership within the realm of literature.

Abstract

The problem faced by the partner, Sekolah Indonesia Kota Kinabalu, is that most teachers are still not able to compile the Indonesian Teaching Module in a differentiated manner. The main purpose of this service is the preparation of differentiated teaching modules on Indonesian subjects for teachers in this school. The method used in this service is the participatory rural appraisal (PRA) model. This method allows the active involvement of partners involved in the implementation of this service. This method was chosen because it is based on the reason that the improvement can be made through the active participation of the partners involved. Based on the results of the community service that has been carried out, it can be seen that the results of the implementation of the activities obtained include the improvement of teachers' abilities in the preparation of differentiated Indonesian Teaching Modules. Another improvement is the ability of teachers to implement creative and innovative learning and differentiated learning. In addition, this service activity can also strengthen the collaboration network Community Learning Center (CLC) teachers in Kota Kinabalu.
