Abstract

Black rice cultivated on land with low water content can adapt and grow well by utilizing rainfed land. Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) application increase water and nutrient absorption. Soil moisture plays role in the development of AMF. Attempt to maintain soil moisture can be balanced by applying rice straw to the land. This research aimed to examine the role of mycorrhiza and rice straw and their interactions independently in increasing the rate of assimilation and relative growth of black rice in rainfed rice fields. The experiment was conducted in Tebas District, Sambas Regency from July to December. This research method used a split-plot design with randomized block design consisted of main plot and subplot. The main plot was AMF treatment (without AMF and AMF administration), and the subplots were rice straw dosage (ton/ha) (0, 5, 10, 15). The experiment was repeated 3 times, 8 treatments and 16 observed plant samples and continued with Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test with 5% level. Variables of this observation are leaf area, total dry weight, and net assimilation rate. The result showed that the interaction of AMF and rice straw treatment influenced leaf area, total dry weight and net assimilation rate. Keywords: Black Rice, Mycorrhizal, Rice Straw

Abstract

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) play an important role for sugar consumption in Indonesia. Problem found with sugar industry in Indonesia is the low productivity of sugarcane because of cultivation techniques caused by low soil fertility. This research aimed to determine effect of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) and vermicompost in increasing the growth of sugarcane. The research method used Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisted of 2 factors with a combination of 6 treatments. The first factor was A1 = without PGPR A2 = PGPR (10 ml.L-1) and the second factor was P1 = 3.5 t.ha-1 (50% vermicompost recommended fertilizer), P2 = 7.t ha-1 (100% vermicompost recommended fertilizer) and P3 = 10.5 t.ha-1 (150% vermicompost recommended fertilizer). Variables of this observation are plant height, number of tillers, number of stems, number of internodes, stem diameter, brix value and the yield of sugarcane. At the age 7 months after planting, the treatment of PGPR application at a vermicompost dose of 7 t.ha-1 (78.46 t.ha-1) was able to reduce the need for a vermicompost dose which was shown by a higher yield value compared to without PGPR application with vermicompost 3.5 t.ha-1 and vermicompost dose of 7 t.ha-1. A higher stem weight obtained in the PGPR treatment when compared to the treatment without PGPR. At a vermicompost 7 t.ha-1 and a vermicompost 10.5 t.ha-1 showed a higher stem weight compared to vermicompost 3.5 t.ha-1.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction between multiple inoculations of Arbuscular Mycorrhizae and non-symbiotic N-fixing bacteria Azosprrillum at different urea fertilizer dosages on physiological processes and N, P uptake in peat soils. The study used a factorial design of 4x4 completely randomized layout with 3 replications. The first factor is the inoculation of Arbuscular Mycorrhizae and Azospirillum lipoferum (M) consisting of 4 levels, namely m0 (without inoculation), m1 (Arbuscular mycorrhiza inoculation), m2 (Azospirillum lipoferum inoculation) and m3 (inoculation with Arbuscular Mycorrhiza and Azospirillum. lipoferum). The second factor is the dose of urea with 4 levels, namely n0 (without urea fertilizer), n1 (urea urea recommended dose), n2 (½ recommended dose) and n3 (recommended dose). The dose of urea for maize is 150 kg ha-1. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (F test), if the F test showed a significant difference between each treatment and interaction, it was followed by Duncan's multiple distance test at the 5% level. Observations were made on N and P uptake, Net Assimilation Rate (LAB) and relative growth rate (LPN). The results showed that the double inoculation of Arbuscular Mycorrhizae and Azospirillum lipoferum was effective at all doses of urea in increasing nutrient uptake of N and P. Abstract

Edamame soybean grows in tropical and subtropical climates. Indonesia's climate conditions are suitable for the growth of edamame in temperatures around 22 - 32oC and rainfall between 1.000 – 5.000 mm/year. Edamame also able to adapt in the conditions of high organic matter land such as peat soil. Attempt to improve peat soil productivity is by providing biofertilizers containing microbes to increase soil fertility. The timing of biofertilizer application is related to the effectiveness of nutrient absorption by plants. This research aims to obtain the interaction of dosage and time of biofertilizer application on the morphophysiological characteristics and yield of edamame soybean on peat soil. This research conducted from May – September 2024 at Bansir Darat village, Southeast Pontianak Subdistrict. A factorial Randomized Block Design was implemented in this research, consisting of three replications and two experimental factors including the dosage of biofertilizer (D) namely d1 = 50 kg / ha, d2 = 75 kg / ha and d3 = 100 kg / ha; the second factor is time of biofertilizer application (W) namely w1 = 2 and 4 WAP (Weeks After Planting) and w2 = 2, 4 and 6 WAP. The results of this research obtained the interactions at various dosages and application times on the analysis of plant growth and edamame soybean yield components on peat soil.
