Abstract

Microalgae Chlorella pyrenoidosa is a microalgae that has the potential to have various roles, especially as a bioabsorbant for organic waste. The growth of the oil palm plantation industry is also directly proportional to the increase in waste generated from the CPO production process, namely POME Waste (Palm Oil Mill Effluent). POME waste has a high nutrient content so that it can be utilized by the microalgae Chlorella pyrenoidosa. This study aims to utilize POME waste to increase the growth of Chlorella pyrenoidosa. Microalgae cultivation had a significant effect on the 1:2 treatment and 1:3 treatment when compared to the control cultivation medium with the highest cell density values ​​of 263(106cells/ml) and 279(106cells/ml) respectively. Injection of POME waste into microalgae rearing media will have an impact on increasing the growth of Chlorella pyrenoidosa microalgae.

Abstract

Community service was carried out on 27-28 October 2022 at SMP Negeri 3 Jorlang Hataran. The activity was carried out by introducing about protecting and caring for mangroves in Belawan waters to serve as ecotourism. The results obtained were that there were 10 types of mangroves located at 3 stations, namely Sonerattia alba, Avecennia offinalis, Avicennia alba, Bruguiera sexangula, Bruguiera cylindrica, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora stylosa and Ceriops tagal. The highest mangrove species were Bruguiera cylindrica and Rhizophora stylosa and the lowest were Sonerattia alba, Avecennia officinalis, Bruguiera sexangula, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizopora apiculate, and Ceriops tagal.

Abstract

Memberikan pengetahuan kepada anak usia dini tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan dalam kegiatan sehari-hari, kegiatan ini bertujuan agar anak lebih peduli terhadap kebersihan dan kesehatan dengan cara menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Perkuliahan KKN difokuskan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang kebersihan lingkungan dan pendidikan di Desa Lingga Raja II. Metode yang digunakan adalah memberdayakan masyarakat dalam kegiatan gotong royong untuk membangun rasa peduli terhadap lingkungan. Pengabdian masyarakat yang telah selesai berdampak besar terhadap kebutuhan masyarakat. Pengabdian ini juga dapat menambah pengetahuan anak usia dini tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, masyarakat, termasuk anak-anak, bergotong royong dan bekerjasama dengan pemerintah setempat untuk membangun lingkungan bebas sampah. Mengingat lingkungan bebas sampah merupakan hak dan kebutuhan seluruh masyarakat Lingga Raja II, diharapkan kegiatan seperti ini dapat lebih sering dilakukan agar manfaatnya dapat dirasakan. Harapan kedepan adalah masyarakat dan anak-anak dapat memahami dan memahami bahwa kebersihan lingkungan juga merupakan kebutuhan pokok masyarakat yang harus dijaga dan dirawat agar dapat dimanfaatkan secara lestari.

Abstract

Avertebrata air merupakan hewan yang tidak memiliki tulang belakang yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai kerajinan tangan dan makanan, agar tidak menjadi limbah. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi kepada guru di SMP Negeri 1 Dolok Pardamean Kabupaten Simalungun Provinsi Sumatera Utara tentang pemanfaatan hewan avertebrata air dari buku ajar. Pengabdian ini telah dilakukan di Dolok Pardamean, Kabupaten Simalungun dengan metode sosialisasi dan angket. Hasil pengabdian menunjukan bahwa banyak guru yang masih belum paham tentang pemanfaatan hewan avertebrata air. Dari pengabdian ini terlihat animo guru sangat tinggi, dan menjadi paham 100% dari hasil angket tentang pemanfaatan hewan avertebrata air setelah dilakukan sosialisasi. This service has been carried out in Dolok Pardamean, Simalungun Regency with the method of socialization and questionnaires. Abstract

Coastal and marine areas are an integrated ecosystem and are interconnected with each other, so they have a mutual correlation. In a coastal ecosystem, there is an exchange of matter and energy that takes place in the system and with other external system components. Based on the importance of the role of mangrove ecosystems in a body of water and the lack of information about the structure of mangrove communities in Pematang Sei Baru Village, Tanjung Balai District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra, this research is important to be carried out to determine the condition of mangrove ecosystems and can provide understanding to the community about the importance of ecosystems for coastal areas. The data analysis used in this study is both descriptive and quantitative. The data analysis used includes diversity and uniformity index, dominance, mangrove community structure, and canopy cover. The highest diversity in trees is found at station 3, with a value of 2.20, and the lowest, with a value of 2.12, at station 2. The highest uniformity in trees is found at station 2, with a value of 0.96, and the lowest at station 5, with a value of 0.93. The highest dominance value was in Rhizophora mucronata with a value of 15.75%, Xylocarpus granatum with a value of 11.51%, and Bruguiera cylindrical type with a value of 10.73%. 1 highest INP value is the type of Rhizophora mucronata with a value of 55.79% and canopy cover in the medium category. Based on the results of observations made at the location of this study, there are many remnants of logging carried out by the surrounding community, which, if left unchecked, will lead to reduced land, which will greatly affect the ecosystem in it. Therefore, the role of the government is expected in conducting supervision in this area.

Abstract

Macrozoobenthos are organisms that live by crawling, sticking, burrowing, and burrowing both at the bottom of the water and on the surface of the water bottom. Macrozoobenthos that live in mangrove areas mostly live on hard sediments to mud. The existence of macrozoobenthos can be influenced by various environmental factors such as the physical, chemical, and biological properties of water. This research aims to determine diversity, uniformity, and the macrozoobenthos dominance of the mangrove ecosystem in Bagan Asahan Village. The method used in this research is to combine two methods, namely the square method and the line transect method. The quadratic method is used to see the macrozoobenthos found in the quadratic method in a biological system, while the line transect method is used as a point to determine the description of the macrozoobenthos. The results of the research show that there are 8 species of macrozoobenthos consisting of 3 classes with a total of 179 individuals. The diversity of macrozoobenthos in the mangrove ecosystem area in Bagan Asahan Village is classified as moderate with a diversity index H'' ranging from 1.54-2.01, the uniformity index is classified as stable ranging between E= 0.76-0.99 and the dominance index is low, ranging between C= 0.14-0.31. Abstract

This research aims to determine growth patterns and condition factors. Apart from that, it is also to determine the level of gonad maturity and the gonad maturity index. The method used was a quantitative descriptive method by measuring length and weight and then dissection was carried out to observe the level of gonad maturity of male mackerel fish samples landed every week. The number of samples obtained during the August-September 2023 period was 200 individuals. The results of the research show that the equation for the relationship between length and weight is W = 0,00003L²͐⁸⁴⁵⁴⁷, which indicates a negative allometric growth pattern. The highest condition factor was obtained in the 190-191 mm length class with an average of 0,8757 and the lowest in the 185-186 length class with an average of 0,8416. The gonad maturity level of mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta) consists of TKG I to TKG IV. The IKG value obtained ranged from 5,616 to 6,375%. The increase in length of male mackerel shows a weak correlation with weight. Meanwhile, the weight of male mackerel had a significant influence on IKG. Selain itu juga untuk mengetahui tingkat kematangan gonad dan indeks kematangan gonad. Metode yang dilakukan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan mengukur panjang dan berat kemudian dilakukan pembedahan untuk diamati tingkat kematangan gonad sampel ikan kembung lelaki yang didaratkan setiap minggunya. Adapun jumlah sampel yang diperoleh selama periode agustus-september 2023 adalah sebanyak 200 ekor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persamaan hubungan panjang berat W = 0,00003L²͐⁸⁴⁵⁴⁷ yang menunjukkan pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif. Faktor kondisi tertinggi diperoleh pada kelas panjang 190-191 mm dengan rata-rata sebesar 0,8757 dan terendah pada kelas panjang 185-186 dengan rata-rata sebesar 0,8416. Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan kembung (Rastrelliger kanagurta) terdiri dari TKG I sampai TKG IV. Nilai IKG yang didapatkan berkisar 5,616-6,375%. Pertambahan ukuran panjang ikan kembung lelaki menunjukkan korelasi yang lemah terhadap berat. Sedangkan berat ikan kembung lelaki memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap IKG. Abstract

Mangroves are ecosystems in intertidal areas with strong interaction between marine, brackish, river, and terrestrial waters. Mangrove forests are one of the natural resources of coastal areas which have an important role in ecology, economy, and social aspects. The main benefit of mangroves is balancing the ecosystem and providing various life needs for humans and other living creatures. Besides being known to have economic potential as a provider of wood resources, fishing, crabs, and so on, mangrove forest resources also play a role in preventing sea waves and seawater intrusion towards land. The research location is in Mesjid Lama Village, Talawi District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province. Mangrove observations used the quadrant transect method, where this research analyzed the types of mangroves, diversity, uniformity of mangroves, dominance, and INP of mangroves, and canopy cover. Three species of mangroves were found in Mesjid Lama Village, Talawi District, Batu Bara Regency, namely Avicenia Officinalis, Bruguiera cylindrica, and Rhizophora apiculata. Abstrak Mangrove merupakan ekosistem yang berada pada wilayah intertidal dimana pada wilayah tersebut terjadi interaksi yang kuat antara perairan laut, payau, sungai dan terestrial. Hutan mangrove merupakan salah satu sumberdaya alam wilayah pesisir yang memiliki peranan penting dari segi ekologi, ekonomi, dan social nya. Manfaat utama mangrove sebagai penyeimbang ekosistem dan penyedia berbagai kebutuhan hidup bagi manusia dan makhluk hidup lainnya. Sumberdaya hutan mangrove, selain dikenal memiliki potensi ekonomi sebagai penyedia sumberdaya kayu, penangkapan ikan, kepiting dan lain - lain, juga berperan untuk menahan gelombang laut dan intrusi air laut ke arah darat. Lokasi penelitian berada di Desa Mesjid Lama Kecamatan Talawi Kabupaten Batu bara Sumatera Utara, Pengamatan mangrove menggunakan metode transek kuadran, dimana penelitian ini menganalisis jenis – jenis mangrove, Keanekaragaman dan keseragaman mangrove, Dominansi dan INP mangrove serta Tutupan kanopi. Jenis mangrove di Desa Mesjid Lama Kecamatan Talawi Kabupaten Batu bara ditemukan 3 spesies yaitu Avicenia oficinalis, Bruguiera cylindrica, dan Rhizophora apiculata. Abstract

Rivers are naturally formed channels on the earth's surface that collect and channel rainwater from high areas to lower areas and eventually end up in lakes or the sea. Heavy metals are metals that have a specific gravity greater than 5 g/cm3. Basically, these heavy metals pollute soil, water, and air. Heavy metals that accumulate in the body are one of the causes of degenerative diseases, especially cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of heavy metals based on the parameters of Copper and Zinc in Lalang River, Suka Maju Village, Batu Bara. Analyze the data from the test results of heavy metal levels based on the parameters of copper and zinc obtained, then compare with the water quality standards set in Appendix IV of PPRI Number 22 of 2021 concerning river water quality standards and the like. The results of heavy metal measurements of Copper (Cu) and Zinc (Zn) conducted at the Medan Baristand Laboratory, it can be concluded that the third research station still meets the river water quality standards according to PPRI No. 22 of 2021 class II. In the parameters of temperature, DO, pH and salinity still meet the air quality standards according to PPRI No. 22 of 2021 class II.

Abstract

Tuna fish (Euthynnus affinis) is a type of large pelagic fish and is classified as a fast swimmer that lives in groups. Tuna fish is one of the aquatic resources of large pelagic fish that has high economic value. Tuna fish also has a fairly high content of omega-3 fatty acids, namely 1.5g/100g. This research aims to determine the percentage of the utilization rate of tuna landed at the Sibolga Nusantara Fisheries Port, North Sumatra. This research was conducted from August 7th-September 7th, 2023. This research is survey research. Types of data collected are primary and secondary data. Data analysis used includes Cacth per Trip Effort (CPUE), MSY (Maximum Sustainable Yield), optimum effort, total allowable catch (TAC), utilization rate, and cultivation level of tuna. Based on research results, the highest Cacth per trip effort (CPUE) in 2020 was 1,785 tons/trip. Based on MSY calculations and optimum effort in 2017-2022, the MSY result was 1211.56 tons/year. The optimum effort was 1943.78 trips, meaning the maximum catch of tuna that could be caught was 1211.56 tons/year, and the amount The permitted catch is 969,248tons/year or 80% of the maximum catch. The average value of the utilization rate for tuna over 6 years is 19%. is in the low stage of development range category and the effort level is 9%. ABSTRAK Ikan tongkol (Euthynnus affinis) merupakan jenis ikan pelagis besar dan tergolong perenang cepat yang hidup bergerombol. Ikan tongkol merupakan salah satu sumberdaya perairan ikan pelagis besar yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi dan juga memiliki kandungan asam lemak omega-3 yang cukup tinggi yaitu sebanyak 1,5g/100g. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase tingkat pemanfaatan ikan tongkol yang didaratkan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Sibolga Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan 7 Agustus-7 September 2023. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey. Jenis data yang dikumpulkan data primer dan sekunder. Analisis data yang digunakan meliputi Catch per Trip Effort (CPUE), Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY), effort optimum, Total Allowable Catch (TAC), tingkat pemanfaatan dan tingkat pengupayaan sumberdaya ikan tongkol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian penelitian, CPUE tertinggi pada tahun 2020 yaitu sebanyak 1.785 ton/trip. Berdasarkan perhitungan MSY dan effort optimum pada tahun 2017-2022 didapatkan hasil MSY sebanyak 1211.56 ton/tahun, dan effort optimum 1943.78 trip artinya tangkapan maksimum ikan tongkol yang dapat ditangkap yaitu sebanyak 1211.56 ton/tahun dan jumlah tangkapan yang diperbolehkan yaitu sebanyak 969,248 ton/tahun atau 80% dari tangkapan maksimum. Nilai rata-rata tingkat pemanfaatan ikan tongkol selama 6 tahun yaitu sebanyak 19%. berada pada kategori rentang tahap rendah dan tingkat pengupayaan 9%. Kata Kunci: Ikan tongkol, CPUE, MSY, TAC, tingkat pemanfaatan
