Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease that is increasing every year in countries around the world. Reports from various regions in Indonesia show that the incidence and complications of DM are widespread, making it a national problem that requires more attention. A frequently encountered complication of DM is diabetic foot, which can manifest as ulcers, infection and gangrene. Actions to treat diabetic foot include preventive measures which include foot care education, diabetic shoes and foot exercises. Foot exercises are exercises carried out by DM sufferers and non-sufferers to prevent injuries and help improve blood circulation in the legs. Apart from their role in providing health education, nurses as members of the medical team can also play a role in teaching foot exercises so that DM patients are able to do foot exercises independently. Objective: To increase the knowledge and skills of DM sufferers by implementing foot exercises in an effort to prevent diabetes complications in the feet (diabetic foot). Method: Foot exercise activities are carried out on DM sufferers who do not have wounds on the feet. The methods used were lectures, questions and answers, and direct demonstrations using newspapers. Results: The results of the activities obtained were an increase in knowledge before and after providing counseling and demonstrations of foot exercises for DM sufferers. Conclusion: After carrying out this community service, the community's ability to do foot exercises has increased and can be done independently, so it is hoped that this can prevent complications in DM sufferers.

Abstract

Bullying is a social phenomenon that often occurs in society, especially in adolescents. There are many biological, psychological, and social changes that can cause conflict problems between themselves and the surrounding environment. This causes the emergence of victims of bullying which causes anxiety in the teenager. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of expressive writing therapy in reducing anxiety levels in adolescent victims of bullying. The research method used quasi-experimental research with a pre-test and post-test control group design approach. The sampling technique with a total sampling of 44 respondents and divided into 2, namely the experimental group and the control group. The results of the study using the Paired Sample T-test showed that p = 0.000 (p <0.05) means that expressive writing therapy is effective in reducing anxiety levels in adolescent victims of bullying. This can be seen from the decrease in anxiety scores in adolescent victims of bullying from 50.0% to 41.0% severe anxiety, which is mild anxiety after expressive writing therapy intervention. Therefore, it is suggested that expressive writing therapy can be used as one of the ways to overcome the anxiety of teenagers who are victims of bullying both on campus and at home.

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa global yang wajib dikuasai oleh masyarakat di zaman ini. Maka dari itu, penting untuk mengajarkan dan mengenalkan bahasa inggris kepada anak- anak sejak dini. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kemampuan short and long-term memory anak masih cepat dalam menguasai Bahasa karena semakin dini anak belajar bahasa asing. Kegiatan Pemberdayaan Berbasis Masyarakat (PBM) ini dilaksanakan di Gampong Batee Linteung Kabupaten Aceh Besar pada sebuah tempat Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) Ceria Sabeena Kids II. Para guru yang ada di sekolah tersebut tidak memiliki latar belakang Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris sehingga di sana mereka mengajarkan Bahasa Inggris seadanya kepada siswa-siswanya. Maka sangat penting bagi para guru tersebut untuk mendapatkan program berupa pelatihan cara mengajar Bahasa Inggris menggunakan teknologi sehingga mudah dipahami oleh para peserta didik dan pembelajaran pun menjadi lebih menyenangkan. Guru-guru di sana membutuhkan bimbingan dalam menerapkan media pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris digital berbasis multimedia. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan pada hari Selasa tanggal 8 Juni 2024. Jumlah peserta yang terlibat adalah 8 orang guru PAUD. Adapun solusi yang ditawarkan dalam kegiatan PBM ini adalah 1) Meningkatkan kualitas guru-guru PAUD mitra melalui pelatihan pengajaran bahasa Inggris menggunakan media digital Comic strips menggunakan aplikasi Canva, dan 2) Pendampingan bagi guru serta praktik pengajaran bahasa Inggris di kelas.

Abstract

Remaja merupakan masa transisi dari masa kanak-kanak ke masa dewasa yang melibatkan perubahan perkembangan fisik, seksual, psikologis dan sosial yang dramatis, sehingga banyak sekali terjadi permasalahan pada masa remaja salah satunya adalah bullying. Bullying berdampak negatif baik bagi korban, pelaku maupun orang yang menyaksikan bullying. Dampak perilaku bullying diantaranya dapat menyebabkan kecemasan. Salah satu terapi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi masalah cemas pada korban bullying adalah terapi expressive writing. Expressive writing merupakan terapi dimana individu didorong untuk menceritakan masalah, perasaan, dan mood yang dihadapinya dalam bentuk tulisan sehingga individu tersebut dapat mengeluarkan emosi-emosi yang terpendam dalam dirinya. Adapun tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui analisis penerapan terapi expressive writing dalam menurunkan kecemasan pada remaja korban bullying. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah literature review dimana data database yang digunakan oleh penulis berupa google scholar menggunakan framework PICO, sehingga didapatkan artikel sebanyak 30 artikel dan artikel yang direview sebanyak dua artikel (tahun 2012- 2022) sesuai kriteria inklusi. Hasil literature review ini didapatkan bahwa penerapan terapi expressive writing efektif dalam menurunkan kecemasan pada remaja korban bullying.

Abstract

Penyakit asam urat atau gout arthritis merupakan penyakit yang diakibatkan karena penimbunan kristal monosodium urat di dalam tubuh, yang menyebabkan peradangan pada persendian maupun di tubuh, sehingga terjadi pembengkakan, rasa hangat, dan nyeri. Salah satu penanganan dalam menagatasi asam urat yaitu kompres hangat daun kelor. Kompres hangat daun kelor merupakan salah satu teknik pemberian kompres pada area persendian yang mengalami nyeri akibat asam urat. Selain berperan dalam memberikan pendidikan kesehatan, perawat sebagai anggota tim medis juga dapat berperan dalam mengajarkan kompres hangat daun kelor hingga penderita gout arthritis mampu melakukan kompres hangat secara mandiri. Tujuan kegiatan ini  untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan penderita gout arthritis dengan penerapan kompres hangat daun kelor dalam menurunkan nyeri asam urat. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, tanya jawab, dan demonstrasi langsung menggunakan kain, dan air rebusan daun kelor. Hasil kegiatan yang diperoleh adalah peningkatan pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan penyuluhan dan demonstrasi kompres hangat daun kelor pada penderita gout arthritis. Diharapkan setelah melakukan kegiatan ini kemampuan masyarakat dalam melakukan kompres hangat daun kelor meningkat dan dapat dilakukan secara mandiri sehingga dapat mencegah terjadinya komplikasi pada penderita gout arthritis.

Abstract

Stroke is a sudden disease that disrupts blood flow in the body, a brain condition causing disability, immobility, and prolonged paralysis, which reduces blood supply to tissues, especially in patients with prominent bones, increasing the risk of pressure ulcers. This study aimed to identify the effect of effleurage massage using canola oil on the risk of pressure ulcers in stroke patients at Kesdam Iskandar Muda Hospital. The study employed a Quasi-Experimental design with a pretest and posttest approach. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling, specifically convenience sampling, with a total of 30 participants. The instrument used was the Braden Scale. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test. The study showed that the risk of pressure ulcers in ischemic stroke patients before the intervention was as follows: severe risk (70.0%), mild risk (20%), moderate risk (6.67%), and very severe risk (3.33%). After the intervention, the risk distribution changed to mild risk (60%), severe risk (33.33%), moderate risk (3.33%), and very severe risk (3.33%). Statistical analysis revealed a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05), indicating that effleurage massage using canola oil significantly affects the risk of pressure ulcers in stroke patients. This study confirms that effleurage massage using canola oil has a significant effect on reducing the risk of pressure ulcers in stroke patients.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of expressive writing therapy in reducing the level of anxiety among adolescent victims of bullying. Method: The research method used quasi-experimental research with pretest and posttest control group design approaches. The sampling technique with a total sampling of 44 respondents divided into 2, namely the experimental group and the control group. Results: the results of the study using the Paired Sample T-test showed that the value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05) which means that there is an effect of expressive writing therapy in reducing anxiety levels in adolescent victims of bullying. This can be seen from the decrease in anxiety scores in adolescent victims of bullying from a severe anxiety level of 50.0% to 41.0% in mild anxiety after expressive writing therapy intervention. Conclusion: Therefore, it is suggested that expressive writing therapy can be used as an intervention in overcoming anxiety in adolescent victims of bullying both on campus and at home.

Abstract

Background: Students are individuals who are studying at a tertiary institution who have the task of completing their studies, within a predetermined time period, and will end their study period by compiling a scientific work as a graduation requirement. The process of preparing scientific work is not a simple thing for students. Students are required to be independent, critical, write scientifically, conduct field surveys, and apply the knowledge learned during the lecture process. Students feel that preparing scientific work is beyond their abilities so they easily experience stress. Stress management can be done with guided imagery therapy, which is a relaxation method for imagining places and events related to pleasant feelings of relaxation.Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of guided imagery therapy on stress levels in final year students in completing scientific work.Method: Using quasi-experimental research with a pretest and posttest control group design approach. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling, purposive sampling, totaling 68 respondents and divided into 2 groups, namely 34 participants in the experimental group and 34 participants in the control group. The instrument used to measure stress levels in final year students is the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10). The statistical test used is the Paired Sample T-test.Results: Obtained p-value = 0.000 (p<0.05) in the experimental group, which means that there is an influence of guided imagery therapy on the stress level of final year students in completing scientific papers. This can be seen from the decrease in the average stress level in the experimental group to 4.88 and in the control group to 0.23.Conclusion: Guided imagination therapy is effective on final year students' stress levels in completing scientific work.Suggestion: In this case, there needs to be support from the family and campus in order to deal with stress in final year students appropriately. Keywords: Emphasize; Guided Imagery; Student. Pendahuluan: Mahasiswa merupakan individu yang sedang belajar di perguruan tinggi yang memiliki tugas dalam menyelesaikan studinya, dalam jangka waktu yang telah ditetapkan, dan akan mengakhiri masa kuliahnya dengan menyusun karya tulis ilmiah (KTI) sebagai syarat kelulusan. Proses penyusunan KTI ini bukan hal yang sederhana bagi mahasiswa. Mahasiswa diharuskan untuk mandiri, kritis, menulis secara ilmiah, melakukan survei lapangan, dan menerapkan ilmu yang dipelajari selama proses perkuliahan. Mahasiswa merasa bahwa dari penyusunan KTI diluar kemampuannya, sehingga mereka mudah mengalami stres. Penanganan stres dapat dilakukan dengan terapi guided imagery yang merupakan metode relaksasi untuk mengkhayalkan tempat dan kejadian berhubungan dengan rasa relaksasi yang menyenangkan.Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui efektivitas terapi guided imagery terhadap tingkat stres pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir dalam menyelesaikan karya tulis ilmiah.Metode: Menggunakan penelitian quasy eksperimen dengan pendekatan pretest dan postest control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan nonprobability sampling jenis purposive sampling sebanyak 68 responden dan dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu 34 partisipan kelompok eksperimen dan 34 kelompok kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat stres pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir berupa Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10). Uji statistik yang digunakan yaitu uji Paired Sample T-test.Hasil: Mendapatkan p-value = 0.000 (p<0.05) pada kelompok eksperimen yang berarti ada pengaruh terapi guided imagery terhadap tingkat stres pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir dalam menyelesaikan karya tulis ilmiah. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari penurunan tingkat stres rerata pada kelompok eksperimen 4.88 dan pada kelompok kontrol 0.23.Simpulan: Terapi guided imagery efektif terhadap tingkat stres pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir dalam menyelesaikan KTI.Saran: Dalam hal ini perlu adanya dukungan dari keluarga dan pihak kampus agar dapat mengatasi stres pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir secara tepat. Kata Kunci: Guided Imagery; Mahasiswa; Stres.

Abstract

Walking exercise is one of the simplest and most cost-effective therapeutic approaches that can improve insulin sensitivity and promote glucose utilization for patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM).  This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of walking exercise therapy in lowering random blood glucose levels among patients with T2DM. A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach was used. The study involved 21 respondents with T2DM who were members of the Posbindu PTM in Gampong Lam Ujong Meunasah Manyang, Aceh Besar. The intervention consisted of walking exercise sessions lasting 30–45 minutes, performed three times per week for four consecutive weeks. Random blood glucose (RBG) levels were measured before and after the intervention using an Accu-Chek glucose meter. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test with a significance level of ? 0.05. The results showed a significant decrease in RBG levels from a mean of 351.19 mg/dL before the intervention to 254.71 mg/dL after the four-week exercise program (p = 0.000). These findings indicate that walking exercise therapy effectively reduces random blood glucose levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Therefore, nurses and community health practitioners are encouraged to incorporate walking exercise therapy into diabetes care and education programs as part of lifestyle modification strategies to achieve better glycemic control.
