PKM activities last for one day, using the lecture method and using leaflet media. PKM's target is 40 students at Matorkis Padangsidimpuan Vocational School. The results of the PKM implementation showed that the majority of PKM participants' knowledge about adolescent reproductive health regarding the dangers of free sex was lacking, 28 participants (70%) experienced free sexual behavior. Educational efforts related to handling casual sex need to continue to be socialized to teenagers so that the impacts and dangers can be handled early and appropriately.

Abstract

Anxiety and sleep disturbances are common complications during pregnancy, affecting maternal well-being and fetal development . Prenatal yoga has emerged as a promising non-pharmacological intervention for addressing these concerns . This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of prenatal yoga in reducing anxiety and improving sleep quality among pregnant women through a mixed-methods randomized controlled trial. A convergent parallel mixed-methods design was employed with 120 pregnant women (20-36 weeks gestation) randomized to intervention (n=60) and control (n=60) groups . The intervention group received 8 weeks of structured prenatal yoga sessions twice weekly, while the control group received standard antenatal care . Quantitative measures included the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), assessed at baseline, 4 weeks, and 8 weeks . Qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. Significant reductions in anxiety levels were observed in the yoga group compared to controls (p < 0.001) . Sleep quality improved significantly in the intervention group, with PSQI scores decreasing from 7.2 ± 1.8 to 4.1 ± 1.2 (p < 0.001) . Qualitative themes revealed enhanced emotional regulation, increased self-efficacy, and improved pregnancy experiences. Prenatal yoga is an effective intervention for reducing anxiety and improving sleep quality during pregnancy . The integration of quantitative and qualitative findings provides comprehensive evidence supporting the implementation of prenatal yoga programs in maternal healthcare services.

Abstract

The Integrated Health Service Post (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu), better known as POSYANDU, serves as a means for community health empowerment because its implementation model is activated and initiated by the community, aligned with their respective needs. The role of cadres (health volunteers) in organizing Posyandu is crucial, as they are not only providers of health information to the community but also community mobilizers, encouraging people to visit the Posyandu and adopt clean and healthy living behaviors. The objective of this study was to determine the role of cadres in the implementation of Posyandu activities in Pudun Jae Lk I Village, within the working area of the Batunadua Health Center, Padangsidimpuan City, in 2025. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. There were 10 informants in this study, consisting of 4 mothers with toddlers, 4 Posyandu cadres, 1 health worker, and 1 Posyandu leader. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative descriptive methods, and data validity was ensured through data triangulation. The study results indicated that cadres had not yet fulfilled their roles in managing malnutrition among toddlers. Obstacles faced by the cadres included a lack of knowledge about Posyandu, particularly concerning malnutrition, due to a lack of training. The conclusion of this study is that the role of cadres in implementing Posyandu activities in Pudun Jae Lk I Village, Batunadua Health Center working area, Padangsidimpuan City, has not been carried out optimally. It is recommended that Posyandu cadres and officers enhance the knowledge and skills of cadres, particularly in toddler nutrition, and improve counseling programs for mothers regarding Posyandu and its benefits for mothers and toddlers

Abstract

Stunting remains a serious public health problem in Indonesia, especially in rural areas. Simasom Village, Padangsidimpuan Angkola Julu District, is an area vulnerable to stunting due to limited knowledge about maternal nutrition during pregnancy, economic constraints, and strong local myths that restrict nutritious food intake. This community service activity employed a health promotion approach through direct nutrition counseling for pregnant women at an integrated health post (Posyandu). The method included pre-test and post-test assessments using questionnaires to measure knowledge levels, direct counseling using leaflets, and anthropometric measurements (weight, height, Mid-Upper Arm Circumference). The activity involved nine pregnant women. The activity showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge. Pre-test results indicated 68.8% of pregnant women had poor knowledge about nutrition and stunting prevention. After the counseling, the post-test results showed a decrease to only 12.5% with poor knowledge, while 87.5% achieved a good knowledge level, indicating a 56.3% improvement. Anthropometric data revealed that most participants had normal nutritional status, although two pregnant women required further nutritional intervention based on their Mid-Upper Arm Circumference measurements. Direct nutrition counseling using leaflets is effective in significantly increasing the knowledge of pregnant women about balanced nutrition and stunting prevention. Continuous and routine educational activities at Posyandu are essential to maintain and improve maternal understanding, which is expected to lead to positive behavioral changes and contribute to stunting reduction efforts in Simasom Village.
