Abstract

Many factors contribute to student learning boredom, but specifically the learning boredom experienced is related to time management, interaction with lecturers, adjustment to the campus environment, and lack of support. These are the things that most often and often trigger students to experience learning boredom. There are several methods to prevent and overcome learning boredom, one of which is by implementing good communication patterns for lecturers towards their students. Communication must be two-way, meaning that communication must be built with a response from the communicants, in this case between the lecturer and the students. . The method used in this research uses a qualitative approach. Communication patterns are closely related to the process of a lecturer's approach to students, of course each lecturer has a certain strategy in communicating. Several things that a lecturer can do to overcome students who experience learning boredom include improving teaching communication patterns. Lecturers need to package learning communication patterns to make them more interesting and enjoyable. To create creative, responsive and fun learning, of course it must be supported by students, parents and the community.

Abstract

Perkembangan fotografi di era sekarang ini sangat pesat dan menjadi kebutuhan penting bagi manusia. Fotografi dan videografi berperan penting dalam menunjang proses pembuatan atau produksi film. SMAN 2 Tambang merupakan salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas yang terletak di Kecamatan Tambang Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau yang saat ini mereka sudah belajar mengenai dasar-dasar jurnalistik, dimana  skill atau kemampuan tentang fotografi dan videografi juga sangat dibutuhkan di dalam dunia jurnalistik. Oleh Karena itu perlu dilaksanakan pelatihan dasar teknik fotografi dan videografi bagi siswa/I di SMAN 2 Tambang sebanyak 42 orang. Adapun pelaksanaan pengabdian ini yaitu Dosen Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau (UMRI) dengan didampingi beberapa mahasiswa Himpunan Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi UMRI (HIMA ILKOM UMRI).  Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan dan meningkatkan pengetahuan atau kemampuan fotografi dan videografi di SMAN 2 Tambang. Metode yang dilaksanakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah ceramah, sosialisasi pelatihan, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Hasil dari pengabdian adalah adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan siswa/i SMAN 2 Tambang dalam penggunaan pengambilan gambar dan video yang menarik dan interaktif sebesar 85 %.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, Islamic preaching (da’wah) has transcended local boundaries, reaching diverse global audiences. The role of international communication is pivotal in enabling the effective dissemination of Islamic teachings across cultures and nations. This study examines the strategic use of international communication in enhancing Islamic da’wah, with a particular focus on digital media, language proficiency, and cultural awareness. A descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing a literature review, highlights that the integration of digital platforms, mastery of international languages, and sensitivity to cultural differences are key factors in the success of global preaching. Furthermore, with the right communication strategies, Islamic teachings can be shared more effectively, fostering a peaceful and inclusive global understanding of Islam. This research underscores the necessity for preachers and Islamic institutions to enhance their international communication capabilities to ensure that Islam's message resonates positively with the global community.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of the psychological concept of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and scarceness marketing strategies on consumer interactions and behaviors during ecommerce flash sales. A qualitative approach was selected to delve into emotions, experiences, and cognitive aspects of decision-making through in-depth interviews with active online shoppers. Results show that FOMO is linked to an increase in feelings of volatility and escalation, which encourages greater and more rapid emotion-laden purchasing behavior that is not thoroughly reasoned out. Countdown clocks and limits on available stock are scarcity strategies that increase the intensity of value placed on the items which make them more desirable and exclusive. Furthermore, the study revolves around consumers’ perception of flash sales—extensively shared on social media and other peer networks—illustrating that their personal and social narratives often fuel a collective feeling of urgency. This underscores powerful intersectional dynamics of modern corporate marketing strategies and consumer behavior vis-a-vis the approaches that need to be adopted, especially from an ethical standpoint, in e-commerce business systems.
