Abstract

This paper investigates further elaboration of syntactic properties of Thinking verb. All data required for this study are taken in Corpus of Contemporary American English. This paper aims to analyse the complement clause possibilities in Thinking verbs and the sentence structure based on the data found in COCA. The research is conducted through qualitative procedures by categorizing a certain construction of the sentences and interpreting certain context related to the data. The feature of complement clause in Thinking verb has special properties; the ‘That’ is constituted in all verb types. ‘WH’ and ‘ING’ exist in Thinking verbs (except Conclude), Solve and Believe subtypes. ‘Judgment TO’ is found in Think, Assume, Remember, Know (except teach), Conclude and Believe (except Doubt) subtypes. ‘Modal (FOR) TO’ is generally formed in Think subtype (except Consider), Assume subtype (except Suppose), Ponder subtype, Remember subtype, Know subtype (except Sense), Conclude subtype (except Infer), Solve and Believe subtypes. The extended classification of Complement Clause possibilities in Thinking verbs resulted the expand of sentence classification as constituent part, Complement clause possibilities are enriched into some verb types and the data are mostly found in complex sentence.

Abstract

Perkembangan fotografi di era sekarang ini sangat pesat dan menjadi kebutuhan penting bagi manusia. Fotografi dan videografi berperan penting dalam menunjang proses pembuatan atau produksi film. SMAN 2 Tambang merupakan salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas yang terletak di Kecamatan Tambang Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau yang saat ini mereka sudah belajar mengenai dasar-dasar jurnalistik, dimana  skill atau kemampuan tentang fotografi dan videografi juga sangat dibutuhkan di dalam dunia jurnalistik. Oleh Karena itu perlu dilaksanakan pelatihan dasar teknik fotografi dan videografi bagi siswa/I di SMAN 2 Tambang sebanyak 42 orang. Adapun pelaksanaan pengabdian ini yaitu Dosen Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau (UMRI) dengan didampingi beberapa mahasiswa Himpunan Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi UMRI (HIMA ILKOM UMRI).  Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan dan meningkatkan pengetahuan atau kemampuan fotografi dan videografi di SMAN 2 Tambang. Metode yang dilaksanakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah ceramah, sosialisasi pelatihan, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Hasil dari pengabdian adalah adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan siswa/i SMAN 2 Tambang dalam penggunaan pengambilan gambar dan video yang menarik dan interaktif sebesar 85 %.

Abstract

This research stems from the low reading proficiency observed among students during the the process of teaching English learning, which impacted various sectors, including primary education. The issue was especially prominent in English, a mandatory subject that needs to be mastered from an early age. Consequently, efforts were made to support students in learning English through the development of an interactive educational tool called "Roda Literasi" (Rossi), designed to enhance students' learning motivation. This study focuses on evaluating the validity and practicality of the developed learning media. The research involved third-grade students from SD IT Imam Syafei’I and followed a Research and Development (RD) approach using the ADDIE model. Data collection included preliminary interviews, validation by subject matter and media experts, and feedback from teachers and students through questionnaires. Results indicated that "Roda Literasi" aligned with 95% of the subject matter and achieved a 98% validity score for educational use. Additionally, 88.93% of students reported enjoying the use of the tool. Based on these findings, the researcher recommends expanding the content of Roda Literasi to include other subjects.

Abstract

SMP IT Madrasatul Quran is one of the Islamic boarding schools that offer Arabic as a second language programs in the everyday school environment. This also includes memorizing verses of the Qur'an and studying Arabic for eighteen hours a week at school. They also learn to speak and understand Arabic scripts. This process is a good effort to improve students' ability and understanding of Arabic texts. But in reality, most of the students face difficulty in understanding the Arabic language, especially in understanding the text because they find it difficult to memorize the vocabulary and they have a lack of vocabulary, and this makes them weak in understanding and speaking the Arabic language. Therefore, the researcher wanted to conduct a research entitled: "The Effectiveness of the Crossword Tool in Improving Students' Understanding of the Arabic Text in SMP IT Madrasatul Quran". The aim of this research is to improve the students' ability to understand the Arabic text and know their response to the use of crossword puzzles. The method of research in this research is Classroom action research. The research was conducted on eighth grade students of the SMP IT Madrasatul Quran. The research tools used are the questionnaire and the test. The result shows that the application of the crossword puzzle is effective in improving the students' understanding of the Arabic text with the mean score 86.16, and the students respond positively with the mean score 3.64. In addition, the use of the crossword puzzle helps in motivating the students and their interest in learning and understanding the Arabic text better than before

Abstract

Buantan Lestari Village is one of ten villages in Bunga Raya District, Siak Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia. Population density is positively correlated with the rate of household waste production. Topographically, the area of ​​Buantan Lestari Village is a lowland crossed by the Buantan River and has a fairly wide expanse of land with an altitude of around 5-17 meters above sea level. With this influence, greening and good waste management are needed. However, Buantan Lestari Village must face problems in this regard in the form of minimal awareness of knowledge and skills in planting and processing household waste. The implementation of this activity was carried out to help Buantan Lestari Village face this problem with a socialization method related to planting and managing household waste. With the implementation of this activity, the results of increased literacy regarding environmental awareness of greening and household waste management of participants with sustainability were obtained.

Abstract

The ideovisual reading technique is the "Implementation of the Ideovisual Reading Technique to Support the School Literacy Movement in Special Schools for the Deaf (SLB-B) under the YPAC Foundation for Child Development (YPAC) Banda Aceh." The aim is to understand the implementation of ideovisual reading for deaf students in SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh and identify the challenges faced in applying ideovisual reading at SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh. The subjects of this study are three high school teachers from SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that ideovisual reading is implemented in teaching deaf students at SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh through the stages of the School Literacy Movement (GLS), which consist of planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. In the planning stage, adjustments are made to materials according to students' needs and the planning of school literacy movement activities. The implementation stage involves applying ideovisual reading, teacher-student interactions, and student participation in the school literacy movement. In the evaluation stage, assessments are conducted on the consistency of using visual media in learning, the intensity of literacy application, the variety of reading materials, the frequency of book borrowing, and the presentation of information to students. Ideovisual reading has become a technique used by teachers to deliver materials, thus enhancing the literacy skills of deaf students. However, its application at SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh faces minor challenges, including a lack of supporting tools, limited teacher skills in using ideovisual media, and differences in learning curricula. The solutions to these challenges include providing the necessary equipment by the school and training teachers in ideovisual reading skills. Thus, the implementation of ideovisual reading media can be further developed to support the literacy development of deaf students at SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh. Abstract

Adanya peningkatan kasus kekerasan online dan masalah keamanan data setiap tahun, terkhusus terhadap perempuan yang menyebabkan kebocoran data secara online. Hal ini disebabkan oleh adanya ketimpangan digital dan kemampuan perempuan tentang literasi digital yang belum memadai. Hal ini terjadi pada perempuan di Nasyiatul Aisyiyah (NA) Kota Pekanbaru. Beberapa anggota mengalami kasus KBGO seperti penyebaran berita paslu, penipuan belanja online, bahkan ada yang mengalami kekerasan online. Tujuan  diadakan pengabdian ini dapat mendorong perempuan di NA kota Pekanbaru untuk memiliki kemampuan digital yang baik. Peserta dalam kegiatan ini sebanyak 30 peserta.  Rentang usia peserta rata-rata berusia 20 - 40 tahun. Pengabdian ini mengunakan metode sebagai berikut :  pemaparan materi dan diskusi Tanya jawab, post test, dan penilaian kinerja kegiatan. hasil Pengabdian dapat ditarik kesimpulannya   keterlibatan dan minat perempuan Nasyiatul Aisyiyah Kota Pekanbaru dalam meningkatkan edukasi mengenai KBGO meningkat sebesar 85%.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes in the science subject on the water cycle in Grade V. Through classroom action research conducted in two cycles, each cycle in this study went through four repeated stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The researcher aimed to improve the quality of students' learning outcomes on the water cycle material for Grade V students at SDN 6 Ampenan, involving 33 student participants, by applying the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) model and DSA media. This study indicates that, out of a total of 33 Grade V students, 10 students (25%) initially met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), while 23 students (75%) were not yet able to meet the KKM. In Cycle I, 19 students (55%) met the KKM, while 14 students (45%) were still unable to meet it. By Cycle II, the learning outcomes of the students met the passing criteria. The application of the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) learning model, supported by DSA (Digital Simulation Aid) tools, can improve learning outcomes in the science subject on the water cycle in Grade V at SDN 6 Ampenan for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

Women have become a significant focus in the implementation of Islamic Sharia in Aceh in recent years. This paper examines the development of research on women in relation to Islamic Sharia in Aceh and maps the bibliometric relationships among articles published in Google Scholar-indexed journals from 2007 to 2023. Utilizing a quantitative method with a bibliometric approach, data was collected through a literature search using Harzing's Publish or Perish application. The analysis was conducted using the Vosviewer application, which visualizes network, overlay, and publication density aspects. The findings indicate a decline in studies on women and Islamic law by the end of 2023, with the peak publication year being 2022, which saw five articles, while only one article was published in 2023. From 2007 to 2023, a total of 22 research articles were identified, accumulating 232 citations. The most cited author during this period is Muhammad Ansor, with three articles and 93 citations. The Al-Jami'ah Journal and Analisa Journal were the leading publishers on this topic. The bibliometric relationship map revealed 163 items grouped into ten clusters, covering topics such as sharia regulations on Muslim dress, gambling, women's participation, and human rights up to 2012. In contrast, discussions from 2012 to 2022 shifted towards domestic violence, sexual violence, and protection. While subjects like sharia regulation and Muslim dress have been extensively researched, areas such as protection, human rights, and women's involvement remain underexplored.

Abstract

Abstract:  The School Health Movement is a strategic step to improve the quality of health and education in Indonesia. The purpose of this movement is to improve the physical and mental health conditions of students, as well as to create a clean, safe, comfortable school environment that supports children's growth and development. The implementation of this activity uses observation, interviews, and documentation methods to obtain data and information related to the implementation of the school health movement at SDN 26 Mataram. The implementation of the School Health Movement has shown positive results in various aspects of physical health, mental health, and cleanliness of the school environment. Although there are still some challenges in its implementation, active participation from all school components, parents, and the community is very important in ensuring the success of this movement. The Healthy School Movement can continue to grow and provide long-term benefits for students, schools, and the community as a whole.Abstrak: Gerakan Sekolah Sehat merupakan salah satu langkah strategis untuk meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan dan pendidikan di Indonesia. Tujuan kegiatan Gerakan ini diluncurkan untuk memperbaiki kondisi kesehatan fisik dan mental peserta didik, serta menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang bersih, aman, nyaman, dan mendukung tumbuh kembang anak. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan data dan informasi terkait dengan implementasi gerakan sekolah sehat di SDN 26 Mataram. Implementasi Gerakan Sekolah Sehat telah menunjukkan hasil yang menyenangkan dalam berbagai aspek kesehatan fisik, mental, dan kebersihan lingkungan sekolah. Meskipun masih ada beberapa tantangan dalam pelaksanaanya, partisipasi aktif dari seluruh komponen sekolah, orang tua, dan masyarakat sangat penting dalam memastikan keberhasilan gerakan ini. Gerakan Sekolah Sehat dapat terus berkembang dan memberikan manfaat jangka panjang bagi siswa, sekolah, dan masyarakat secara keseluruhan.
