Abstract

Prokrastinasi dapat terjadi pada mahasiswa terutama pada penyelesaian tugas akhir atau skripsi. Prokrastinasi adalah perilaku yang merugikan individu terkait dengan rendahnya kemampuan untuk meregulasi diri sendiri. Kemampuan regulasi diri dikenal dengan self-regulated learning yaitu proses mengaktifkan kemampuan kognisi, afeksi dan perilaku untuk menunjang proses pencapaian tujuan belajar. Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh self-regulated learning, yang diberikan dalam bentuk pelatihan, pada prokrastinasi penyelesaian skripsi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini melibatkan 18 orang mahasiswa yang telah mengerjakan skripsi selama 2 semester lebih. Skala prokrastinasi penyelesaian skripsi digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian dengan analisis statistik Uji-t dengan independent sample t-test (α = 5%) menggunakan skor post-test kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol, menunjukkan nilai tsebesar = 2.189 dengan p = 0.04 (p 0,05) sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa ada perbedaan skor post-test antara KE dan KK, dimana skor KE lebih rendah dibandingkan skor KK. Kelompok yang mendapat pelatihan self-regulated learning menunjukkan penurunan prokrastinasi dibandingkan kelompok yang tidak mendapat pelatihan self-regulated learning.

Abstract

Being a student who will continue his education as a student after finishing high school will be a new experience in adjusting to students because it requires adjustment in a new environment. One of the factors that support adjustment in a new environment is social support from peers. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between peer social support and adjustment in overseas students from Toraja in Salatiga, class of 2021 & 2022. This study used a quantitative method with a sampling technique, namely a type of non-probability sampling. The samples taken amounted to 103 students. The data collection in this study was carried out using a peer social support scale with a Cronbach Alpha value of 0.923 and a self-adjustment scale with a Cronbach Alpha value of 0.734. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between peer social support and self-adjustment among overseas students from Toraja. The Pearson correlation number is positive, which is equal to 0.243, so the direction of the relationship variable is positive or interconnected, which means that social support has a relationship with self-adjustment. The higher the peer social support, the higher the student's self-adjustment. Kata kunci: Peer social support, self-adjustment, overseas students

Abstract

Undergraduate students should ideally focus on their academic achievements; however, it is currently expected to find undergraduates who work while attending college. Regardless of whether students work while attending college, students must have self-regulation in learning to follow the learning process effectively. This is because learning in the realm of higher education relies on students' independence. This research aims to determine the differences in self-regulation in learning between working and non-working undergraduate students. The research method used is quantitative comparative with the Independent sample t-test analysis method. In this study, 316 students, comprising 158 working students and 158 non-working students, participated in this research using convenience sampling. The scale used in this study is the Self-Regulation in Learning Scale (α = 0.901). This research found no significant difference in self-regulation in learning between working and non-working students, with a significance level of 0.275 (p > 0.05). This means that the hypothesis in this research is rejected. Working students have higher categories in motivation, behavior, and context aspects. Meanwhile, non-working students tend to score higher in the cognition aspect. The findings of this research also provide an overview that external conditions of students do not significantly affect self-regulation in learning.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is a potential job that still has the opportunity to be developed. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an influence of cultural orientation and gender on entrepreneurial careers. Researchers use purposive sampling method, involving 347 Vocational High School (SMK) students consisting of 180 male students (51.87%) and 167 female students (48.12%). The researcher used the High School Student Entrepreneurial Orientation Scale and the Cultural Orientation Scale. The results of this study indicate the influence of cultural orientation on entrepreneurship in vocational students. The results also showed that there was no difference in entrepreneurial interest between male and female students. The practical implication of the results of this study is that the vertical and horizontal collective cultural orientation factors have a role in building entrepreneurial interest among teenagers.

Abstract

Slow learner students tend to have a difficult grasping power, especially towards reading comprehension so instruments are needed to help them in reading comprehension such as the use of Index Card Match. The Index Card Match learning method is a fun designed learning method that is based on matching cards that are usually used by teachers with notes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of the Index Card Match learning method in improving the reading comprehension skills of slow learner students at SMPN 7 Salatiga. This research uses the Quasi Experiment method with the experimental design used in this research is One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. Validity measurement in pre-test and post-test questions as a benchmark to determine the effect of treatment is done by conducting expert judgment. This research was conducted in 3 stages, namely Pre-research (preparation and pre-test, Treatment (Treatment) and End of research. The results showed a significance value of 0.012 (p0.05) and a t-count of -2.197, in other words the use of Index Card Match had a significant effect on the learning process.

Abstract

Masyarakat Toraja, dengan warisan budaya yang mendalam, dengan teguh menjaga tradisi mereka, termasuk upacara Rambu Solo', sebagai gaya hidup yang turun-temurun. Rambu Solo', juga dikenal sebagai ritual kematian suku Toraja, didasarkan pada keyakinan leluhur mereka, yang diperintah oleh filsafat "Aluk Todolo". Upacara sakral ini, yang integral dalam budaya Toraja, menuntut sumber daya dan partisipasi yang signifikan dari keluarga, sering kali mengakibatkan prioritas lebih tinggi dibandingkan pendidikan dan masa depan anak-anak mereka. Di tengah Rambu Solo', beberapa keluarga tertentu, terutama yang berjuang mempertahankan status sosial mereka, berhadapan dengan dilema mendukung pendidikan anak-anak mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara dukungan sosial orang tua yang melakukan pesta adat Rambu Solo’ dengan motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif signifikan yang normal antara dukungan sosial orang tua yang melakukan pesta adat Rambu Solo’ dengan motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil uji perhitungan korelasi dimana nilai r sebesar 0,441 dengan signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05) sehingga hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima. Dengan demikian, motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa akan meningkat apabila dengan banyaknya dukungan sosial orang tua yang di rasakan

Abstract

Sleep is vital for cell regeneration and repair in the human body. Adequate sleep, typically 7-8 hours per day, is crucial for adolescents, as its deficiency can impact various aspects of their lives including physical health, academic performance, school activities, and concentration. However, numerous factors, such as internet addiction, can disrupt sleep quality. Internet addiction, characterized by excessive and uncontrollable internet usage, is particularly prevalent among adolescents and has been linked to sleep disturbances. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between internet addiction and sleep quality among students at SMA N 9 Manado (Public Senior High School). Employing quantitative research methods and correlation analysis, data were collected from 110 active students at SMA N 9 Manado using quota sampling techniques. The Internet Addiction Test (IAT) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were utilized as measurement scales. Statistical analyses including the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, one-way ANOVA test, and Pearson's Product-Moment correlation coefficient were performed. The findings revealed a significant positive correlation (r = 0.533, p < 0.05) between internet addiction and sleep quality among students at SMA N 9 Manado, indicating that higher levels of internet addiction were associated with poorer sleep quality. This underscores the need for interventions aimed at reducing internet addiction among students, with an emphasis on fostering self-awareness regarding internet usage behaviors. Such interventions hold promise for improving the sleep quality and overall well-being of adolescents.

Abstract

Adolescence is often considered a transition period marked by significant changes. It is seen as a period of transition, a challenging age, and a time of searching for identity. At the same time, adolescence is also considered the threshold of adulthood because it involves uncertainty and lack of control. Family dynamics also tend to change during the adolescent phase, including increased conflict between teenagers and parents, changes in roles and responsibilities, and changes in expectations placed on teenagers. A mismatch between parental expectations and adolescent behavior can increase the risk of conflict, which in turn can lead to incidents of child abuse. This research aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-esteem in adolescents who have experienced child abuse in Sorong City. The method used is quantitative research with a correlational design. A total of 64 teenagers aged 12-21 years and residing in Malagusa sub-district, Sorong City were participants in this research who were taken using a saturated sampling technique. Research measurements used the Wong & Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLES) and The Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES). The research data analysis method uses Pearson Correlation. The research results show that there is a significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and self-esteem of 0.949 with a significance of 0.000 (p<0.01). This shows that emotional intelligence plays a major and important role in relation to the level of self-esteem of teenagers who have experienced child abuse in Sorong City.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan media sosial dengan perilaku agresif verbal pada remaja. Pada penelitian ini, subjek yang digunakan adalah remaja SMA Negeri 2 Metro, Lampung dengan status aktif sebagai siswa atau siswi sekolah tersebut. Total sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 241 siswa/i. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis korelasional dan teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah Non Probability Sampling dengan bentuk purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi : 1). Uji normalitas, uji linearitas. 2). Uji hipotesis ( Korelasi Product Moment). Alat ukur dalam pengambilan data penelitian ini menggunakan skala psikologi agresif verbal dan skala penggunaan media sosial dengan metode berupa kuesioner dalam bentuk Google form berdasarkan skala likert. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara intensitas penggunaan media sosial dengan perilaku agresif verbal, terlihat dari hasil analisa data yang dihitung menggunakan SPSS versi 25 for windows, diketahui nilai r = 0,292 dengan signifikan p= 0,000 < 0,005 (5%).

Abstract

The challenges faced by Special Needs School (SLB) teachers are more complex compared to regular school teachers. The complexity of the conditions of children with special needs requires educators to regulate more extensively to condition Special Needs Children (ABK) in a humane manner. The background of this research highlights the complexity of the dual roles undertaken by female SLB teachers, who also serve as mothers and wives. This study aims to determine the relationship between work-life balance and psychological well-being among female SLB teachers in Solo Raya. This study involves 110 female SLB teachers in Solo Raya as research subjects. The research method used in this study is quantitative correlational research. The research instruments for this research are work life balance by Fisher (2009) and Psychological well being by Ryff (1995). The results of the study show a significant positive correlation with a result of r = 0.352 and a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05), which means that the higher the work-life balance, the higher the psychological well-being. The work-life balance variable contributes effectively by 12.3% to psychological well-being. Meanwhile, 87.7% of the psychological well-being variable is still influenced by other factors
