Abstract

Prescription drug abuse has been widely practiced by adolescents in Indonesia. Seeing this condition requires an intervention that can increase adolescent knowledge related to prescription drug abuse. Psychoeducation for students of SMPN 2 North Galesong is one of the interventions to educate students, teachers, and parties related to the impact of prescription abuse among adolescents. The results of the implementation of this community service obtained that students' knowledge related to prescription drug abuse predominantly increased as evidenced by the highest score in the pre-test of only 60 to 100 in the post-test. In conclusion, there was an increase in knowledge in students of SMPN 2 North Galesong after being given psychoeducation related to prescription drug abuse. The Hasanuddin University community service team hopes that this psychoeducation can prevent prescription drug abuse in adolescents

Abstract

The Self Help Group Therapy group for nursing students was formed as a forum for sharing stories with each other and finding solutions to problems. One intervention that can be provided is health education related to coping mechanisms and spirituality in an effort to improve mental health. The aim of this community service is to increase students' knowledge regarding coping mechanisms and spirituality. The number of participants in this service was 38 people, education and delivery of material regarding Coping Mechanisms and Spirituality was delivered by lecturers at the Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University using powerpoint media in the Self Help Group Therapy group. Evaluation of implementation results regarding knowledge using a questionnaire. The results of the implementation showed that students' knowledge of coping and spiritual mechanisms found that the majority of students had increased. In conclusion, there has been an increase in students' knowledge with the Self Help Group regarding spirituality and coping mechanisms after the education was carried out. The community service team hopes that Hasanuddin University, especially the Faculty of Nursing as a partner, will be able to carry out screening to capture more students who experience mental health problems so that early prevention can be carried out and for further treatment, Self Help Group Therapy activities can be provided.

Abstract

Kaluku Bodoa Community Health Center in Tallo District is among the top three areas with the highest incidence of low birth weight (LBW) cases in Makassar, recording 48 cases in 2022. A 2024 study revealed that many LBW infants had not received neonatal home visits and did not possess the Small Baby MCH Book, further exacerbated by the lack of socialization and training among health workers. Through the integration of the Healthy Indonesia Program with Family Approach (PIS-PK), empowering community health cadres in small baby care is essential to prevent stunting. This community service program aimed to enhance cadre capacity through managerial training, utilization of the Small Baby MCH Book, and the establishment of an online support forum for mothers with small infants. The activities were implemented through technical training on the integration of the Small Baby MCH Book and health education using a health coaching approach for health workers and cadres, followed by mentoring sessions at pilot Posyandu through book distribution and educational sessions using visual and guideline-based media The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in the average knowledge and skills of community health cadres and maternal and child health (MCH) healthcare providers in delivering services for mothers and infants with a history of low birth weight, with scores improving from 46.7 on the pre-test to 60.4 on the post-test., and successfully initiated the implementation of a dedicated Posyandu for LBW infants. Targeted care for small babies is a crucial effort to prevent future growth and developmental disorders, emphasizing the need for special attention and differentiated care from health professionals and cadres.
