Abstract

This article aims to describe the iqra method in learning the Koran at a TPA in Makassar city. The Iqra method is a very easy reading method and attracts the interest of many teachers to apply it in the santri group. This dedication method is to apply the method in teaching and see the speed at which students know letters compared to other methods. The results of this service are obtained as follows: this iqra method makes students read the Koran faster than other methods because students learn more while singing and reading is still good according to the name. The recommendation for this service is that the Iqra method is more suitable for the beginner age of children learning the Koran which is full of games and enjoys doing it.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the role of parents inaccompanying children to learn has a high intensity. The role ofteachers in schools is returned to parents at home. This has animpact on the disruption of other schedules of housewives that theyare used to doing. This counseling aims to provide additional insightto housewives in Katimbang Village, Biringkanaya District,Makassar City in assisting their children in learning homes. Thiscounseling was attended by about 35 housewives with a duration of3 hours. This activity took place in the hall of the Kaimbang VillageOffice. The results of this counseling show that there is an increasein the insight of housewives after attending the counseling. There isno other way to deal with their complaints other than having to facethis reality and make social adaptations. The conclusion obtained isthat housewives must increase their insight in assisting children tostudy at home and take more parenting education both online andoffline.

Abstract

Children's literacy from elementary age to teenagers is an urgent agenda to carry out considering the rush of information through the media is increasingly being consumed by children and adolescents without selection. Therefore, it is important to develop them to be literate. This article describes service activities regarding the development of children and adolescents about the importance of literacy so that they can make a selection of the circulating information. This service activity will take place in June 2021 in Kaimbang Village, Makassar City, which is organized by Lecturers, Students, and the Literacy Observer Youth Group with participants from elementary school to junior high school age groups. The number of coaching participants is 35-35 children who are divided into 2 classes with basic materials such as Religion, Civics, Indonesian as the basic material and Social Media Insights as the core material. The presentation of the core material introduces the basic etiquette of using social media, accessing information, and disseminating it. This activity lasts 2 weeks with a meeting frequency of 3 times a week with a duration of 2-2.5 hours for each meeting. The results of the activity showed that the participants were happy and enthusiastic about learning, and they had additional knowledge about social media, especially what can and cannot be accessed according to their age and the ethics of sharing information. The conclusion of this service is that it is necessary to hold ongoing training and coaching for teenagers related to social media literacy
