Abstract

In the industrial world, machines are widely used to facilitate a more effective and efficient way of working, by trying to abandon old work patterns that rely heavily on human labor along with the development of industrial technology 4.0 in observations made by researchers at household MSMEs in the snack food industry, in Titi Village Payung, Air Putih District, Batu Bara Regency. Processors of cassava and banana chips still use human power and use simple tools. The process of chopping cassava and banana chips is not done at a table, but is done directly on the floor. The chopping process in this condition causes an uncomfortable working position for the worker, because it is done with a bent back position, the head is always bowed and the legs are always bent. . This chopping process is usually carried out for 8 hours per day. The cassava and banana chopper tool at the research site's MSMEs has dimensions of 30 cm long, 15 cm wide and 21 cm high. On this basis, researchers consider it necessary to minimize the obstacles faced by cassava and banana chip managers, by making a cassava and banana chopping machine. The performance test results of the cassava and banana chopping machine obtained 1 kg of cassava and banana slices in 1 minute or the same as 60 kg in 60 minutes, with the resulting cassava and banana slices having a thickness of 1 - 2 mm. This cassava and banana chopping machine has been made to be more practical to use and can compete with domestically made products.

Abstract

A profound understanding of the mechanical properties of stainless steel is crucial in modern industrial applications. However, comprehensively understanding the mechanical properties of stainless steel requires sufficient testing to gather data on its characteristics. In this research, an analysis was conducted on the influence of chemical composition and heat treatment on the mechanical properties of stainless steel, utilizing data from the Material Algorithm Project (MAP), which is a material database. The dataset comprises 986 samples, encompassing 11 chemical elements, variations in quenching, and 3 mechanical properties of stainless steel. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation to examine the relationships between these variables. The research results indicate a negative correlation of -0.35 between temperature and Yield Strength (YS) in samples of steel undergoing air cooling. The YS values in this treatment can reach 300 MPa at temperature combinations ranging from 1300 K to 1330 K, with heating times ranging from 180 seconds to 420 seconds. Meanwhile, water cooling exhibits a wide range of cooling times and relatively high temperatures. Combinations of time between 1400 seconds and 2200 seconds and temperatures between 1300 K and 1400 K result in YS ranging from 240 MPa to 260 MPa. This research suggests that experimental material testing datasets not only play a passive role in validating an experiment but can also be actively utilized in the analysis and design of materials more effectively.

Abstract

The curriculum is crucial to the success of the learning process, and curriculum management plays a vital role in achieving curriculum goals. This study aims to analyze curriculum management at IT Mentari Ilmu Elementary School in Karawang. This research focuses on curriculum management, which includes curriculum planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation stages. A qualitative descriptive approach was adopted in this study. Data were collected through observations and interviews with the school principal, teachers, and curriculum developers' representatives. The data were analyzed using the methods of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that curriculum management at IT Mentari Ilmu Elementary School has effectively followed the stages of planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation.

Abstract

The addition of nanosilica particles can enhance mechanical properties of epoxy based composite materials. Tensile behavior is very crucial properties to be investigated due to its appearance frequently in the application. The amount of nanosilica (SiO2) particles was added in 2%, 5%,8 % and 10% of weight to epoxy resin Epikote 828. Dogbone tensile specimens of epoxy modified with nanosilica were tested using universal tensile machine. The results of tensile properties were further elaborated using available analytical model and finite element analysis. Analytical model and finite element analysis using computer can cut the time to market. As the result, the cost can be minimized  compare to experiment based assessment. Tensile behavior improvement is revealed as the nanosilica particles added. A very good correlation among the results from experiment, analytical and finite element analysis has been revealed.

Abstract

Salah satu home industri yang terdapat di Gampong Mesjid Punteut adalah pabrik pembuatan tahu. Bahan baku pembuatan tahu adalah biji kedelai yang diolah sehingga menghasilkan produk utamanya adalah tahu. Selain menghasilkan tahu, pabrik juga menghasikan produk sampingan berupa limbah cair dan limbah padat. Selama ini limbah cair tidak dimanfaatkan, namun limbah padat dipergunakan sebagai makanan ternak. Untuk itu dalam program penerapan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi diberikan keterampilan berupa pelatihan untuk memanfaatkan limbah cair dari industri tahu menjadi produk baru yaitu Nata de Soya. Nata de Soya merupakan produk pangan yang bergizi tinggi terutama pada kandungan karbohidrat, protein dan serat kasar. Metode yang dilakukan pada pelatihan ini adalah ceramah dan demontrasi. Tujuan dilaksanakan program ini untuk menambahkan wawasan dan keterampilan masyarakat khusunya di Gampong Mesjid Punteut dalam mengolah limbah cair menjadi produk Nata de Soya. Hasil dari penelitian ini masyarakat sudah berhasil memanfaatkan limbah cair industri tahu menjadi olahan makanan berupa Nata de Soya. Kata kunci : limbah cair tahu, pelatihan, Nata de Soya

Abstract

Angka disabilitas fisik yang tinggi sebagai pemicu dan pemacu dalam pengembangan riset/penelitian bagi penyandang disabilitas untuk membantu aktivitas sehari-hari mereka, salah satunya adalah dengan kursi roda. Ada rasa keprihatinan melihat kursi roda manual yang dipakai sehari-hari para disabilitas fisik, khususnya dengan tangan dan kakinya yang tidak normal, sehingga menjadi masalah sendiri karena mereka cukup kesulitan dan melelahkan dalam mengayuh kursi roda manual. Kondisi tersebut jelas berdampak pada produktivitas kerjanya, sehingga mengurangi pendapatan/perekonomian mereka. Karena itu tujuan penelitian ini adalah manufaktur pembuatan kursi roda elektrik milik dua orang disabilitas fisik (yaitu peserta pertama dan peserta kedua) dan dilakukan uji ergonominya meliputi Kesesuaian anthropometri tubuh pengguna dan dimensi kursi roda, Hasil analisa  postural pengguna dengan RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assesment), Kesesuaian dimensi kursi roda dengan standar, dan Evaluasi usabilitas kursi roda berdasarkan observasi. Hasil yang diperoleh untuk kursi roda elektrik Peserta pertama adalah dari sisi antropometri, tinggi popliteal lebih panjang dari pada jarak antara dudukan dan pijakan kaki di kursi roda. Agar Peserta pertama lebih nyaman dalam menggunakan kursi rodanya dan kaki tidak menyerong (yang akan berpotensi menyebabkan gangguan musculoskeletal lebih besar), direkomendasikan jarak antara dudukan dan pijakan kaki perlu diperpanjang. Sementara untuk kursi roda elektrik Peserta kedua, secara umum kursi roda Peserta kedua sudah diberikan modifikasi untuk menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan kondisi tubuh Peserta kedua sekaligus membuat desain kursi roda Peserta kedua lebih ergonomis. Namun demikian analisis postural menunjukkan posisi lengan bawah terangkat dan tangan mengalami twisting (menekuk) saat Peserta kedua mengoperasikan kontroler kursi roda elektrik.  Sehingga disarankan untuk menurunkan posisi kontroler sejajar dengan dudukan kursi roda
