Abstract

Research on the Study and utilization of Traditional medicine plants by Moronene ethnic in the Rau-Rau village Southeast Sulawesi were aims to: 1) inventory these kinds of medicinal plants are utilized including the identification of scientific and local names, 2) study the knowledge society in the utilization of plants as medicine, metods processing and the efficacy, 3) study the  knowledge kinds of disease and how to use of medicinal plants. With methods survey exploration conducted interviews to expert treatment (sandro) and the community. There are 51  spesies plant  in 27 family growing in the backyard, in the gardens and in the forests around the settlement. The organ  medicinal plant species (leaves, stems, bark, rhizome, tuber, fruit and SAP) are uses for tradisional medicines to cure about 36 kids of diseases. Abstract

This paper is based on the quasi-experimental research which aims to find out the effectiveness of mind mapping-silent card shuffle combination to improve students’ achievement in narrative writing skill. The subject of this study was the eighth grade students of a state junior high school in Semarang in the academic year of 2015/2016. The sample consisted of 64 students from two classes. The data were derived from test, interview, and documentation. The data were then measured and analyzed by the statistical and interpretation. The result showed that after the students were given treatment by using mind mapping-silent card shuffle combination,the mean scores of the experimental group increased about 28.49%. The t-test showed that tvalue (3.839) was higher than ttable (1.998). It can be concluded that the working hypothesis (Ha) which states that “There is a significant difference of effectiveness and learning achievement in writing narrative story of students who are taught by using mind mapping-silent card shuffle combination technique and those who are not taught by using that technique” is accepted. Therefore, a mind mapping-silent card shuffle combination technique is effective for students to improve their achievement in narrative writing skill.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the significance difference on the students’ comprehending in learning vocabulary for those were taught by using Word Wizard Game for experimental class and were taught by Direct Translation method for control group. The subject of this study was the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Ambarawa in the academic year 2016/2017. The instrument used to obtain the data were pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire. However, the writer conducted try out test to check whether the instrument was reliable and valid to be used for pre-test and post-test. The data were gathered and calculated using Ms. Excel and SPSS. The result of this study revealed that Word Wizard game could improve students’ vocabulary mastery by significant improvement of students’ achievement. The result analysis of the quantitative data shows that the mean scores of the experimental group increases from 56.00 to 76.31. The t- test of mean difference was 8,875 and t- table was 2.00. The result concludes that the working hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is a significant difference between students who were taught by using Word Wizard game and those who were taught by using Direct Translation method. In addition, the analysis of the questionnaire shows that students were interested towards Word Wizard game for reading narrative text (mean: 3.25). They recognized that the implementation of the technique for learning narrative text made them enjoy the class (agree: 62.5% and strongly agree: 37.5%). Thus, the analysis reveals that Word Wizard game effective in teaching vocabulary.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika dan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan menggunakan model CORE (connecting, organizing, reflecting, extending). Jenis penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VII-A SMP N 32 Purworejo yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar observasi untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan model CORE dan mengetahui komunikasi matematis lisan siswa,lembar tes untuk pemahaman konsep dan komunikasi matematis tertulis siswa, wawancara untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap penerapan model CORE, dokumentasi dan catatan lapangan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran CORE dapat meningkatkan 1) kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yaitu pada siklus I sebesar 68,38% kemudian meningkat menjadi 80,84% pada siklus II, 2) kemampuan komunikasi matematis tertulis siswa yaitu pada siklus I sebesar 68,71% kemudian meningkat menjadi 79,88% pada siklus II, dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis lisan siswa pada siklus I sebesar 66,55% kemudian meningkat menjadi 78,12% pada siklus II. Abstract

This study aims to describe community participation in community-based waste management at Tri Guyub Rukun Waste Bank, which includes background participation, forms of participation and level of participation. In addition, to see how the factors that encourage and hinder community participation in waste management. The research method used in this study is a combination of qualitative and quantitative descriptive. The informants of this study were administrators and customers of the waste bank.The results of the study showed that the background of the community participated, namely the socialization of the waste bank management, local village government support, and individual motivation. The form of participation that was carried out included the participation of thought, energy, skills and goods, while participation in the form of money was not found. Community participation in Tri Guyub Rukun Garbage Bank for external matters according to Arstein is at the degree of citizen power level, while for things that are internal at the level of non participation. Factors that encourage the existence of norms (norms), trust (trust) and network (network). The inhibiting factors are infrastructure, time, communication, stakeholders, distance, and unexpected agenda.Suggestions from this study are that Tri Guyub Rukun Waste Bank administrators increase the number of field officers, make neat transportation schedules, make permanent shelter posts and not too far away, improve waste segregation socialization, provide incentives for customers who contribute greatly, provide training in making cycle goods repeat from waste, create smooth communication, and build public opinion related to the planning of waste management programs.Keywords: Community Participation, Waste Management, Community

Abstract

Government and private players started focusing on developing cities in to smart cities due to increased level of urbanization in most of the countries around the world, including in Indonesia, by focusing on developing new smart buildings and upgrading old ones. Present paper tried to find out the Smart Building Readiness Index (SBRI) of Bandung City for knowing the level of awareness among the general public based on an exploratory research, the result of which enables the authorities to take strategic initiatives for improving the smart buildings and then to smart city status. Required data was collected by conducting in-depth interviews with 30 respondents and the result of the qualitative data revealed that Bandung’s SBRI comes to only 64.39, which is not a good indicator but within the limits of fairness and needs lot of improvement in future. The result also can be considered as an indicator that annual energy consumption in Bandung city is still at a high level and needs to focus on improving the quality of buildings in and around Bandung city for the purpose of overall reduction in energy consumption and improvement in quality of environment as well as quality of life. Respondents are also not fully aware of the smart building concept. Much needs to be done for making the public aware of the concept of smart building and its usefulness along with strategically developing smart buildings so that in future Bandung city transforms into a smart city with smart buildings. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: anatomy character (density, length, and width of stomata), chlorophyll content index, and alkaloids content of plant cashew leaves (Anacardium occidentale L.) planted on gold post-mining soil Bombana with variation dose of cow manure. The experimental research use completely randomized design with four treatments, namely without cow manure (S0), and treatment of cow manure 100g 10kg-1 soil (S1), 125g 10kg-1 soil (S2), and 150g 10kg-1soil (S3)  in repeated 3 times. Anatomy of leaves Cashew plant parameters observed were the levels of density stomata, length stomata, width stomata, and the physiology were chlorophyll content index and alkaloids content. Test data using Anova and continued with LSD (density stomata), and BJND (chlorophyll content index) level of 95%. The results showed that cow manure of the treatments S3 gives the highest value of density stomata (16,98 mm2), length stomata (122, 24 µm), width stomata (109, 97 µm) and chlorophyll content index is (42,81 CCI) while on treatments alkaloids content highest S0 is (0,005 g). Cow Manure is significantly influence of stomata density  and chlorophyll content index, but no significant effect on the stomata length, stomata width and alkaloids content. Keywords : Stomata, Chlorophyll Content Index, Alkaloids Content, Cow Manure, Plant Cashew  Gold Post-Mining Soil.
