Abstract

This study investigates the implementation and effectiveness of NutriPlay, an Android-based application designed to enhance understanding of balanced nutrition among early childhood students in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. NutriPlay features interactive, visually engaging, and bilingual content aimed at enriching children’s vocabulary while promoting nutrition education. The study involved 30 students from PAUD Lily Jaya and PAUD Al-Fatah, with data collected on usage duration, interest level, ease of use, and improvement in nutrition understanding. The results indicate that 70% of the students used NutriPlay for less than 5 minutes per session, while 30% used it for 5-10 minutes per session, and none of the students used it for more than 10 minutes. Despite the short usage periods, 85% of the students reported increased interest in the application, and 90% showed significant improvement in their understanding of nutrition concepts. These findings suggest that NutriPlay is effective in delivering educational content within short usage periods, sustaining children’s interest through repeated use, and significantly improving their understanding of nutrition concepts.

Abstract

Background: It is hypothesised that thought stopping and assertive training represent a behavioural therapy that may assist in overcoming negative thoughts that impede relaxation and, consequently, the reduction of hypertension. It is proposed that medication compliance represents a pivotal factor in the management of blood pressure in patients with hypertension.. Method: The objective of this study was to ascertain the efficacy of thought stopping in enhancing compliance with hypertension treatment. The research design employed was a pretest-posttest group design with a control group. The study employed a pretest-posttest group design with a control group to compare the results of the group that received Thought Stopping treatment (the intervention group) with the group that received Assertive Training Results: The data obtained on the level of compliance with taking anti-hypertensive drugs before and after the intervention revealed that 12.5% of the participants were compliant, while 87.5% were non-compliant. The statistical test results for the variable of thought stopping therapy yielded a p-value of 0.201, indicating that there was no statistically significant difference in the mean systolic blood pressure between the pre- and post-therapy periods at the 5% alpha level. Similarly, the statistical test results for the variable of thought stopping therapy yielded a p-value of 0.093, indicating that there was no statistically significant difference in the mean diastolic blood pressure between the pre- and post-therapy periods at the 5% alpha level. Conclusion: The administration of Thought Stopping Therapy did not result in a statistically significant change in the mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure values between the pre- and post-therapy periods.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious health issue in Indonesia that affects the quality of human resources. This study aims to examine stunting prevention from the perspective of Islamic Religious Education based on verses from the Qur'an and Hadith. The method used is a literature review with primary data from the Qur'an and Hadith, and secondary data from scientific literature. The findings show that the principles of stunting prevention are outlined in Islamic teachings, such as the recommendation for exclusive breastfeeding (Qur’an, Al-Baqarah: 233; Hadith Abu Dawud), the importance of cleanliness and sanitation (Qur’an, Al-Anfal: 11; Hadith Tirmidhi), the encouragement to work hard to meet family needs (Qur’an, At-Tawbah: 105; Hadith Bukhari), and the consumption of lawful and wholesome food (Qur’an, Al-Baqarah: 168; Hadith Thabrani). This study shows that Islamic teachings offer a holistic approach to health and well-being and can serve as a foundation for religion-based stunting education.
