Abstract

The problem faced by the Company is the absence of special arrangements applied to chemical warehouses in the storage or collection of warehoused products, so that the pattern of storage and the preparation of chemicals is randomized depending on the vacant warehouse position. Consequently longer transport times and long travel distances (there is a search process) and over pumping of goods. The purpose of this research is to get the design of chemical layout in the warehouse, to know the need of floor area and to know the total distance in the existing condition and the proposed condition. The method used is dedicated storage which is also called as a fixed storage plot for each product type. In this method the placement is based on the ratio of throughput and space requirement (T/S) with the largest T/S placed on the block with the distance between each block of smallest. From the calculation results obtained the total distance traveled at this time that is equal to 783.9 m and calculations on the proposed conditions obtained for 456.6 m, which means a decrease in total travel distance of 38.20%.

Abstract

Pengembangan agroindustri santan kelapa memiliki potensi dalam mendorong eskalasi ekonomi, meningkatkan penghasilan masyarakat, memfasilitasi penyerapan tenaga kerja, mendorong pembangunan yang adil dan mempercepat kemajuan daerah. Usaha pengolahan santan kelapa di Sumatera Barat umumnya masih skala usaha rumah tangga dengan proses produksi sederhana, teknologi tradisional, mutu santan kelapa yang belum standar dan akses pasar yang terbatas. Tujuan riset ini adalah mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor berpengaruh pada pengembangan agroindustri santan kelapa dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan metode Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP). Faktor-faktor ini dapat menjadi pedoman bagi pemerintah dan pihak terkait dalam merencanakan strategi kebijakan yang berkaitan dengan pengembangan dan pertumbuhan agroindustri santan kelapa. Penelitian ini menerapkan prosedur yang dimulai dari pembuatan struktur hierarki, penyusunan kuisioner, pembuatan matrik perbandingan fuzzy, dan penentuan jumlah bobot prioritas. Penelitian ini melibatkan informan kunci yang terdiri dari praktisi industri, akademisi dan tenaga ahli dari pemerintahan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh sebelas faktor-faktor berpengaruh pada pengembangan agroindustri santan kelapa yang terbagi atas tiga kelompok, yaitu: (i) kelompok A, merupakan faktor-faktor yang memerlukan tingkat pengawasan yang sangat ketat (extremely), terdiri dari faktor pendapatan (15,5 %), faktor harga (14,8 %), faktor pasar (14,5%), faktor bahan baku (11,9 %), faktor produktivitas (9 %) dan faktor kualitas (8,1 %), (ii) kelompok B, merupakan faktor-faktor yang memerlukan tingkat pengawasan ketat (strongly), terdiri dari faktor teknologi (8 %), faktor transportasi (7,8 %) dan faktor tenaga kerja (4,2 %), (iii) kelompok C, merupakan faktor-faktor yang memerlukan tingkat pengawasan sedang (moderately), terdiri dari faktor limbah produksi (4,3 %) dan faktor regulasi (1,9 %).

Abstract

Payakumbuh City is a key center for soybean production in West Sumatra, with an established industry focused on manufacturing and marketing health products, including soy milk and soy powder. At the IKM Usaha Berkat Doamu, however, a major issue has been identified: the soy milk spoils quickly, with a shelf life of only about 10 hours after processing, there is no standardized production and hygiene. As a result, around 50 packs of soy milk are damaged or stale each day, amounting to a loss of 13% of the total production (370 packs), causing significant daily financial losses for the business owner. This community service initiative aimed to address the problem by improving the packaging process and Good Manufacturing Process. The implementation method begins with the preparation stages of the activity, which include the target audience, location, work plan and schedule, delivery of materials and demonstrations, target partners, and planning for the evaluation of the community service activity implementation. The approach involved providing materials and conducting demonstrations on proper packaging and labeling techniques for soy milk. Led by instructors (lecturers), the activity included practical, hands- on training for the participants. As a result, the community gained valuable knowledge on packaging and labeling technologies, which will enhance the product’s marketability and competitiveness. The recommendation offered from this community service activity (PKM) is that future activities, in addition to implementing design of production facility layouts can be applied to support these food and beverage.

Abstract

Balai Batu Sandaran Village, which is included in the administrative area of Barangin District, Sawahlunto City, West Sumatra, is one of the centers for citronella oil production in West Sumatra. In this village, a citronella oil refining industry has been established. The establishment of a citronella oil refining industry is one way that can be done so that existing citronella can be processed into essential oils. Mekar Wangi is one of the SMEs that uses essential oils as an additional ingredient in the household cleaning products they produce. The obstacles faced by Mekar Wangi in developing their business are the absence of PIRT, inadequate packaging, and difficulty in marketing. It only operates when there is an order. Through this activity, it is expected that Mekar Wangi will understand techniques to make attractive packaging and labeling so that they can be made later for the products they produce and provide understanding to the public that digital marketing needs to be done in promoting their business. The method of implementing this activity is carried out by giving technical demonstrations of making essential oil derivative products, labeling, product packaging, and digital marketing and providing entrepreneurial motivation so that they are able to compete and provide added value for the Mekar Wangi.

Abstract

Pengembangan agroindustri kelapa terintegrasi yang selaras dengan kebijakan daerah berbasis sumber daya alam, tenaga kerja dan teknologi yang memadai akan terus dilakukan guna mewujudkan keberlanjutan rantai pasok agroindustri kelapa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merumuskan model konseptual sistem kemitraan petani kelapa dan agroindustri santan kelapa di Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Tahapan penelitian ini terdiri dari wawancara ke petani kelapa dan pelaku agroindustri santan kelapa di Kabupaten Padang Pariaman dan pengisian kuesioner oleh pakar akademisi tentang keterkaitan antar elemen yang dibandingkan. Total responden yang diperlukan pada penelitian adalah 30 orang. Pengembangan sistem kemitraan menggunakan metode Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) untuk mendapatkan model struktur yang mengambarkan kompleksitas sistem kemitraan antara petani kelapa dan agroindustri santan kelapa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh strukturisasi sistem pengembangan kemitraan yang terdiri dari tumbuhnya kepercayaan dan kerjasama agroindustri dan petani kelapa, ketersediaan dana, terbatasnya fasilitas dan infrastruktur, pelaksanaan peraturan daerah terkait kemitraan belum optimal, konsistensi petani dalam menanam kelapa, penyiapan lahan dan bibit unggul kelapa, pelatihan teknologi budidaya, pola bercocok taman kelapa melalui Good Agriculture practise (GAP) dan kegiatan produksi santan kelapa melalui Good Manufacture Practise (GMP).
