Abstract

Morphological awareness, which involves understanding word structure and formation, plays a pivotal role in developing reading fluency among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. This study investigates the effect of AI-based tools on morphological awareness and reading fluency among 25 third-semester English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students at STAIN Mandailing Natal. Using a quantitative pre-test and post-test design, students completed a 30-item morphology awareness test and a fluency reading test before the intervention, which involved using Grammarly and ReadTheory for eight weeks. Grammarly provided feedback on morphology-related errors, while ReadTheory adapted reading passages to proficiency levels. A post-test was used to measure improvements, which were analyzed using a paired t-test. Results show a significant increase in post-test scores, confirming the effectiveness of AI tools in enhancing morphological understanding and reading fluency. Compared to previous studies, this research reinforces the correlation between morphological awareness and reading skills, while highlighting the role of AI as an interactive learning tool. These findings suggest that integrating AI into EFL instruction enhances self-directed learning, improves linguistic accuracy, and fosters reading proficiency.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of Wordwall, an interactive learning platform, in enhancing reading comprehension skills in English language teaching. The research focused on how the platform’s interactive and gamified activities could improve students’ engagement, focus, and overall comprehension abilities. Through qualitative data collected from student interviews, teacher observations, and classroom activities, the study revealed that Wordwall significantly increased student participation and engagement compared to traditional teaching methods. The platform’s dynamic features, such as matching games and sequencing tasks, helped students better identify main ideas, infer meanings from context, and summarize information. Teachers reported that students remained more focused during lessons, with the interactive nature of the activities reducing distractions. Additionally, the study highlighted challenges such as limited internet access and the need for more varied activity types. The findings suggest that Wordwall can be a valuable tool in developing reading comprehension skills, offering a more engaging and interactive approach to English language teaching. Recommendations include addressing technical limitations and providing more diverse learning materials to enhance the platform’s effectiveness.

Abstract

في جميع الأوقات، فإن استخدام اللغة العربية ليس فقط للعبادة ، ولكن أكثر من ذلك ، يتم استخدام اللغة العربية في التفاعلات الشخصية والتعليمية. تعلم اللغة العربية كلغة ثانية من قبل الطلاب الإندونيسيين. توجد صعوبات عند تعلمها بسبب خصائص اللغة العربية التي تختلف عن غيرها من اللغات. لذلك ، من الضروري وجود طريقة خاصة لتعليم اللغة العربية للطلاب ، وخاصة لطلاب مدرسة دار الأمين بستان العريفين الإسلامية الداخلية. حيث يبدأ التعلم بتقليد أو تقليد سلوك النموذج. تُعرف هذه الطريقة بأسلوب التعلم السلوكي لألبرت باندورا. هذا البحث هو بحث ميداني ذو منهج وصفي نوعي. البيانات التي تم جمعها تستند إلى الملاحظة والمقابلات والتوثيق. تتم معالجة البيانات من خلال التثليث. نتائج هذه الدراسة هي أن طريقة تعلم اللغة العربية في مدرسة دار الأمين بستان العريفين الإسلامية الداخلية تبدأ بملاحظة وتقليد الأستادز أو الأستاذ بالخطوات الأولى ، الانتباه (الإدراك ، التحية ، كسر الجليد) قبل بدء الدرس . ثانيًا ، الاستبقاء (عمل خرائط المفاهيم ، والتمارين ، واستخدام الكلمات البسيطة ، والملاحظات). ثالثًا: الإنتاج (ممارسة وسؤال وجواب). رابعاً: الدافع (المديح والعقاب والآمال والمثل).الكلمات المحورية: اللغة العربية ، المنهج ، ألبرت باندورا ,النظرية المعرفية الاجتماعية

Abstract

The purpose of the Community Service activity conducted by the STAIN Mandailing Natal Arabic Language and Literature lecturer team at Al Munawwar Kindergarten is to enhance students' vocabulary mastery (Mufrodat) through the singing method. This training took place over one day and was attended by 21 students. The method employed is the Eclectic method (Intiqoiyyah). The activity comprised several stages, including opening, educational games, core activities, evaluation, rewards presentation, and closing. The results obtained from this activity indicate an improvement in students' vocabulary mastery (Mufrodat) through the application of the singing method. This is evident from the students' enthusiasm during the learning process and their ability to respond to questions during the evaluation stage.Keyword: singing methods, mufrodat, arabic AbstrakTujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh tim dosen Bahasa dan sastra arab STAIN Mandailing Natal di sekolah TK Al Munawwar adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penguasaan kosa kata (Mufrodat) melalui metode bernyayi. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dalam waktu 1 (satu) hari dan diikuti oleh 21 Siswa. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam proses pelatihan yaitu metode Elektik (Intiqoiyyah). Beberapa tahapan kegiatan yaitu, pembukaan, Game edukatif, kegiatan inti, evaluasi, pemberian reward dan penutup. Sedangkan  hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini yaitu adanya  peningkatan penguasaan kosa kata (Mufrodat) siswa dengan penggunaan metode bernyanyi, hal ini dibuktikan dengan antusias para siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan kemampuan mereka dalam menjawab pertanyaan yang diberikan pada tahap Evaluasi.  Keyword: metode bernyayi, mufrodat, bahasa arab
