Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the forms of code mixing and the factors causing it in the Whatsapp group of E-Commerce Campus, the family of lecturers, and the academic community of STAIN Mandailing Natal. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The primary data collection technique involves documentation, which entails collecting chat messages in the Whatsapp group for 24 days, from March 6, 2024, to March 29, 2024. Meanwhile, secondary data consists of books and scholarly articles related to the research title. The data analysis technique utilizes Milles and Huberman's theory, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The research results reveal the forms of code mixing in the Whatsapp group of E-Commerce Campus, comprising 28 word forms and 28 phrase forms. The factors causing code mixing are multilingual ability, educational background, diverse regional backgrounds, and the tendency to follow trends in buying and selling, often using English terms such as "ready," "order," and others.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the curriculum of child education, specifically focusing on objectives, materials, methods, and media as outlined in Surah Luqman, verses 13 to 20. It is a library-based study employing a qualitative descriptive approach. The primary source for this research is Surah Luqman, verses 13 to 20, while secondary sources include books, studies, and scholarly articles relevant to the topic. Data was collected through documentation, and content analysis was applied to interpret the data based on its content. The findings indicate that the methods of child education in Surah Luqman verses 13 to 20 can be summarized as follows: Educational Objectives: These are categorized into doctrinal objectives, moral objectives, and worship objectives. Educational Materials: These include monotheism (the oneness of God), belief in the Day of Judgment, the beautiful names of God (Asmaul Husna), God's power, commendable morals, reprehensible morals, ethics of debate, and prayer. Educational Methods: These include advice, exemplary modeling, dialogue, repetition, and storytelling. Educational Media: This includes natural elements such as clouds, rain, snow, and ice in the sky, as well as solid dwellings, rivers, trees, plants, and fruits on earth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the instructional materials for speaking skills in the book Al-Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik for first-year students, parts one and two. This library research uses a qualitative approach and a descriptive method, with documentation used as the data collection technique. The method of data analysis employed is content analysis. The primary data sources are the book Al-Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik for first-year students, parts one and two, and the book Pembelajaran Konstruktivisme, Teori dan Aplikasi Pembelajaran dalam Pembentukan Karakter by Sigit Mangun Wardoyo. Secondary sources include books, previous research findings, and scientific articles related to the topic. The findings of this study show that the instructional materials for speaking skills are presented in the form of dialogues between two or more people, covering 16 dialogue topics. Each unit contains three dialogues, except for the first unit, which contains six dialogues. The materials align with two out of the seven characteristics of constructivist theory but are less aligned or not aligned with the others.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the steps, advantages, and disadvantages of teaching Mahārah Kalām using the Mubāsyarah method with the Iṭṭiṣāli approach. The research employs library research with a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection involves documentation, with primary sources including an article by Baroroh et al., entitled "Arabic Learning Based on a Communicative Approach in Non-Pesantren Schools," and secondary sources being books and scientific articles relevant to the study. Data analysis follows Milles and Huberman's theory, including data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The study identifies several steps in Mahārah Kalām learning using the Mubāsyarah method with the Iṭṭiṣāli approach: introduction, presentation of short dialogue formats by teachers, student writing of short dialogues, practice of dialogues, questioning, teacher reading of student dialogues, and evaluation. Advantages of this method include improved speaking skills, expanded vocabulary, pronunciation closer to native speakers, and the ability to analogize with other topics. However, its disadvantages include suitability only for small groups, the need for teachers to speak like natives, reliance on teachers to prepare materials, avoidance of the mother tongue, difficulty in identifying teacher mistakes, and the flawed theoretical basis equating mother tongue acquisition with foreign language learning. The research implies that the Mubāsyarah method is not the sole method for teaching Arabic speaking skills.

Abstract

Abstract: This community service program aimed to improve the speaking skill (Maharah kalam) of students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Hifzil Qur’an Islamic Centre Medan. The reason of selecting the school was the lack of students’ ability to apply vocabularies (mufradat) in form of sentences (jumlah) based on the direct survey to students at the first preliminary research. Therefore, this training was focused to improve the speaking skill (maharah) of the students through Snowball Throwing model by utilizing the origami papers. The method of conducting the training was mix methods (intiqodiiyya) namely combination of speech delivery method or lecturing (ilqoiyyah) and direct method (mubasyarah). The program was carried out within one day and was followed by 27 female students. Some steps were done at implementing this program comprising opening, core agenda, evaluaton, giving reward and closing. The results showed that students’ ability increase very well where they could express simple sentence (jumlah) with related given materials and were actively practicing Arabic orally in front of the classroom by turn.Keywords; Speaking skill, Model of snowball throwing, utilizing the media, origami paper. Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara (Maharah Kalam) siswa Madrasah Tsanawiyah Hifzil Qur’an  Islamic Centre Medan. Alasan dipilihnya Madrasah ini adalah karena kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam menerapkan kosa kata (Mufrodat) dalam bentuk kalimat (Jumlah), hal tersebut diperoleh dari hasil survey berbicara langsung dengan siswa pada kunjungan awal, oleh sebab itu pelatihan ini difokuskan untuk peningkatan kemampuan maharah kalam siswa melalui melalui Model Snowball Throwing dengan pemamnfaatan media kertas origami. Adapun metode yang digunakan adalah metode Campuran  (Intiqoiyyah) yaitu gabungan antara metode  Ceramah (Ilqoiyyah)  dan metode Langsung (Mubasyarah). Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan satu hari dan  diikuti oleh 27 siswi. Beberapa tahapan yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu,  pembukaan, kegiatan inti, evaluasi, pemberian reward dan penutup . Adapun hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini yaitu  adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa, hal ini dibuktikan dengan kemampuan mereka dalam mengungkapkan kalimat (Jumlah) sederhana terkait materi yang disampaikan serta keaktifan mereka dalam praktek berbicara bahasa arab di depan kelas secara bergantian.Kata Kunci: maharah kalam; model snowball throwing; pemanfaatan media;  kertas origami

Abstract

The purpose of the Community Service activity conducted by the STAIN Mandailing Natal Arabic Language and Literature lecturer team at Al Munawwar Kindergarten is to enhance students' vocabulary mastery (Mufrodat) through the singing method. This training took place over one day and was attended by 21 students. The method employed is the Eclectic method (Intiqoiyyah). The activity comprised several stages, including opening, educational games, core activities, evaluation, rewards presentation, and closing. The results obtained from this activity indicate an improvement in students' vocabulary mastery (Mufrodat) through the application of the singing method. This is evident from the students' enthusiasm during the learning process and their ability to respond to questions during the evaluation stage.Keyword: singing methods, mufrodat, arabic AbstrakTujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh tim dosen Bahasa dan sastra arab STAIN Mandailing Natal di sekolah TK Al Munawwar adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penguasaan kosa kata (Mufrodat) melalui metode bernyayi. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dalam waktu 1 (satu) hari dan diikuti oleh 21 Siswa. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam proses pelatihan yaitu metode Elektik (Intiqoiyyah). Beberapa tahapan kegiatan yaitu, pembukaan, Game edukatif, kegiatan inti, evaluasi, pemberian reward dan penutup. Sedangkan  hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini yaitu adanya  peningkatan penguasaan kosa kata (Mufrodat) siswa dengan penggunaan metode bernyanyi, hal ini dibuktikan dengan antusias para siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan kemampuan mereka dalam menjawab pertanyaan yang diberikan pada tahap Evaluasi.  Keyword: metode bernyayi, mufrodat, bahasa arab

Abstract

This study aims to familiarize the Arabic language to children since early childhood. It is commenced from the family cycle due to Arabic language learning is not only charged to teachers at school but so are parents who also have the same responsibility on it at home. This study applied the qualitative method by qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection was obtained from observation, invented documents, journals, and the researcher’s experience. The results revealed that the role of parents in familiarizing the Arabic language at early age children is realized in three ways, they are; (1) Parenting by direct involvement in Arabic familiarizing from an early age, (2) Utilizing attractive and fun methods in Arabic learning, (3) Effective and proportional use on digital media to ease the learning process on the Arabic language. This study hopefully can help parents at home and teachers at early childhood schools to teach the Arabic language to early-age children.
