Abstract

Community engagement is widely recognised as essential in addressing the significant challenges posed by climate change, with scholarly research indicating that media coverage and framing of climate issues are crucial for raising awareness and encouraging community involvement. However, climate change reporting often focuses primarily on negative impacts, which can diminish public support for climate action and contribute to climate anxiety. Framing techniques that emphasise potential solutions can be employed to improve climate change communication. This approach aligns with constructive journalism, emphasising solutions-based reporting, providing credible coverage of social issues like climate change, and fostering democratic dialogue. This study investigates how constructive climate change news can inspire Gen-Z in Indonesia to participate in climate action, as they are projected to be among the most affected by climate change. Using focus group discussions (n=10) with Gen-Z participants, this study employed constructive climate change news as a stimulus before the discussions. Data were analysed through thematic analysis, which revealed two main themes. First, Gen-Z participants felt motivated to engage in climate action after reading constructive climate change news. Second, while Gen-Z expresses a strong willingness to contribute to climate initiatives, two external factors emerged as key facilitators of their involvement in climate action.

Abstract

This research is about the repository management strategy in the Library of the College of Agricultural and Plantation Sciences (STIPAP). The purpose of this research is to find out how the strategy of managing the repository in the STIPAP library. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques interview, observation and documentation. The research informants were the head of the STIPAP library and staff librarians. The results of the study show that in managing the repository in the Stipap library, the electronic collection is in the form of CD (softcopy) and hardcopy which is stored in the archive cabinet. The content contained in the STIPAP repository is 2837 Final Project titles, 57 Journal Titles, and 53 Final Project Titles. The STIPAP library does not digitize it, because it accepts soft copies from students. The strategy for managing the Stipap repository is with the role of HR (librarian) in managing the repository, information technology assistance to build the repository, and preservation of digital collections so that the collection can continue to be utilized.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of a Team Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model assisted by audio-visual media in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Samatiga. The method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with class VIII research subjects totaling 32 students. The research was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection instruments are in the form of learning outcome tests, observation sheets of teacher and student activities, and interviews. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes after the application of the TGT model with audio-visual media. In the initial condition, the percentage of students who completed their studies reached 53.1%, then increased to 75% in the first cycle, and reached 87.5% in the second cycle. This shows that the TGT type cooperative learning model supported by audio-visual media is effective in improving the learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education. Thus, the application of this model can be used as an alternative learning strategy that is able to increase student motivation and learning outcomes optimally.

Abstract

Korupsi merupakan permasalahan serius yang berdampak negatif terhadap pembangunan dan tatanan sosial masyarakat. Pendidikan agama Islam dan penguatan etika sosial dianggap sebagai salah satu upaya strategis dalam membentengi individu dari perilaku korupsi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pendidikan agama Islam dan penguatan etika sosial sebagai tameng moral yang efektif dalam mencegah korupsi. Metode kajian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan analisis teoritis dengan mengintegrasikan konsep-konsep pendidikan Islam dan etika sosial. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan agama Islam mampu menanamkan nilai-nilai keimanan dan akhlak yang menjadi dasar pembentukan karakter anti-korupsi. Selain itu, penguatan etika sosial yang berlandaskan prinsip kejujuran, keadilan, dan amanah memperkuat kontrol moral individu dalam kehidupan sosial. Dengan demikian, sinergi antara pendidikan agama Islam dan etika sosial merupakan pendekatan komprehensif yang efektif dalam meminimalisasi perilaku korupsi. Artikel ini berkontribusi pada pemahaman pentingnya integrasi nilai-nilai agama dan etika sosial dalam upaya pemberantasan korupsi secara berkelanjutan.
