Abstract

This study aims to examine the Kendeng Kaya Ambeng geguritan text using literary ecology. This research uses qualitative descriptive research. The data were collected using reading and note-taking techniques. This research utilises literature study techniques to strengthen the primary data collected. After that, the collected data are processed through a series of stages, including 1) data selection, 2) data interpretation, and 3) concluding the research results. Through a literary ecology approach, "Kendeng Kaya Ambeng" can be understood as a sharp criticism of environmental exploitation that harms local communities, especially farmers. The text highlights the conflict between development (which often only benefits certain parties) and the need to maintain ecological balance and the sustainability of human life. This genre's representation of environmental damage reminds us of the importance of harmony between humans and nature to prevent a bigger crisis.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the synthesis of Islamic and Javanese elements in the Serat Wulang Dalem Pakubuwana II (SWDPB II), as found in manuscript Ms. Orient Okt 1224 from the Staatsbibliothek Berlin collection. The research adopts a new historicism approach, which views literary works as inseparable from the historical, social, political, and economic contexts of their time. The data consist of textual excerpts from the manuscript, analyzed to identify manifestations of Islamic-Javanese cultural synthesis. The findings reveal that this synthesis is articulated through the use of terminology drawn from two distinct traditions that are harmoniously juxtaposed, such as Arabic and Javanese scripts, the figures of prophets and kings, and the symbolic pairing of the right and left eyes. Within the textual construction, these elements are interpreted as complementary rather than oppositional. This synthesis reflects an intellectual and spiritual response to the evolving ethical and social dynamics of the 19th century, particularly in the context of the interaction between Islam and Javanese culture within the royal court.

Abstract

The aim of education is not just to create pupils, pupils or learners who have intelligence and life skills, but also have good morals, character and manners. It will be a special note for students who have a high level of intelligence, but are not able to interact well with the people around them. Therefore, it is necessary to instill good manners in the school environment, especially in the aspect of morals towards others, one of which is through getting used to speaking good Javanese language manners. The language of krama alus is structurally composed of the vocabulary of krama and krama inggil/krama andhap. The krama inggil is used by the speaker (02) and the person being discussed (03) as a form of respect due to differences in position, age, or because they are not yet familiar. The vocabulary of krama andhap is used by speakers (01) as an effort to respect other people by humbling themselves through certain word choices. Strategies that can be applied in getting used to speaking krama alus in the school environment are the application of the drill method (repetition of practice), holding regular Javanese language events (krama alus), as well as the application of the 3M principles (starting from yourself, starting from small things, and starting from now ). A number of factors determine the success of the alus language habituation program in the school environment, including teacher commitment and example, correct understanding of Javanese, availability of learning resources, and intensity of implementation.
