Abstract

The family planning program is an effort to improve the awareness and participation of the society through the maturity of marriage, birth control, family nurturing, and improvement of family welfare to create a happy and prosperous family. It can reduce 25% of maternal mortality and 18% infant mortality. The higher number of family planning means the more contraceptive use in reproductive age couples, then the higher the reduction number of maternal and infant mortality rates. This study aims to observe The Effect Of Providing Contraceptive Education On The Knowledge Level Of Reproductive Age Couples. This is a pre-experimental study with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The analysis used is paired sample t-test and Shapiro-Wilk test.. The research sampel was 50 of reproductive women spouses. It was obtained that the average of knowledge before contraceptive education was given is 44.56 with 15.38 of standard deviation. However, the average of knowledge after contraceptive education was given was given is 61,26 with 12,14 of standard deviation. It shows that the difference of the mean value before and after giving contraceptive education is 16.70 with 10.00 of standard deviation. Statistical test results obtained value of P-value = 0.000. There is a significant effect of giving contraceptive education to the knowledge level of couples with reproductive age in Pariaman Public Health Center in 2020 .The public health center is expected to improve family planning services for couples in fertility age by providing continuous counseling to increase their understanding of choosing and using proper contraception consistently.

Abstract

Indonesia is included in the 5 countries with the highest stunting rate of children under five, namely there are 7.5 million children under five. Based on the results of the 2016 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), the prevalence of stunting nationally was 37.2%, which means an increase compared to 2010 (35.6%) and 2007 (36.8%). Based on data from the Pariaman City Health Office from 7 existing Puskesmas working areas, the Marunggi Health Center Work Area Pariaman City has the highest percentage of very short children growth, reaching 63 people out of 772 toddlers (8.2%) and 108 people short (14%) ).This research uses a correlation pre-experimental design with the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, which is a research design that has a pretest before being given treatment. Thus it can be known more accurately, because it can be compared with being held before being given treatment. The sample of this study used a purposive sampling technique with certain criteria with the number of samples obtained by 50 PUSH women. The results of the study will be analyzed using the independent sample t test (paired sample t-test. The results of statistical tests obtained P value = 0.000. This means that there is a significant difference in the average knowledge of mothers of children under five before and after counseling. This research is expected to be evidence based, become a guide or material for health promotion at the Marunggi Health Center, as a material for public consideration of the importance of knowledge about stunting.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the factors that causes stroke. Stroke is one of the non-communicable diseases that is the leading cause of death and disability worldwide. The FAST (Face, Arms, Speech, and Times) method is one method that can be used to find out and detect stroke. Early detection of stroke with FAST is effective in accelerating the provision of interventions so as to minimize disability. This study aims to determine the effect of FAST method health education on the knowledge of families suffering from hypertension at the Sungai Limau Health Center. This type of quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design using a one group pretest posttest approach. The study was conducted on August 27, 2024. The sample consisted of 20 respondents with a total sampling technique. The instruments were in the form of questionnaires, Counseling Event Units (SAP) and leaflets. Data analysis used a paired t-test at α = 5%. The results showed that the knowledge of families suffering from hypertension before being given FAST method health education was in the poor category, namely 11 people (55%). The category of respondent knowledge became good, namely 13 people *65.0%) after being given FAST method health education. The results of the paired t-test showed a p-value = 0.000 <α = 0.05 which means that FAST method health education has an effect on the knowledge of families suffering from hypertension at the Sungai Limau Health Center. In conclusion, there is an effect of FAST method health education on the knowledge of families suffering from hypertension at the Sungai Limau Health Center. Suggestions, it is hoped that the Sungai Limau Health Center can provide regular counseling to all hypertension sufferers in this area.

Abstract

Breast cancer cases have threatened life safety. In Indonesia, out of 396,914 sufferers, there have been 22,000 deaths. The cause is due to delays in detection so that when symptoms appear, they have entered the final stage, namely death. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of health education with booklet media on the knowledge of female adolescents about BSE in students of SMPN 4 Pariaman. The type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design with a one group pretest posttest approach. The population in the study were 82 students of class VIII of SMP 4 Pariaman. The research sample was 17 students of class VIII of SMP 4 Pariaman who had menstruated. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out using a paired t-test at the 5% level. The results of the study showed that most respondents before being given health education had low knowledge of 13 people (76.5%), and after being given health education, all respondents had high knowledge (100%). Paired t-analysis shows that the p-value = 0.000 <α = 0.05. It can be concluded that there is an influence of health education with booklet media on the knowledge of female adolescents about BSE in SMPN 4 Pariaman students. Suggestion, it is expected that all female students can practice the movements and procedures in the BSE examination in the booklet media periodically.

Abstract

Labor pain is one of the most prominent aspects and often causes discomfort to the mother during the labor process, especially during the first stage of the active phase. This study aims to determine the effect of warm compresses on reducing pain intensity in mothers giving birth at TPMB Hj. Yetti Latif S. ST. The research method used was quasi- experimental with a pre-test and post-test design without a control group. A total of 15 mothers giving birth during the first active phase were selected as respondents using an accidental sampling technique. Pain intensity was measured using a numerical scale before and after the warm compress intervention. The results of the study showed a significant reduction in pain intensity after administering a warm compress, with an average reduction in pain of 3 points on a numerical scale (p<0.05). The results of the univariate analysis found that 87% of women in labor experienced a reduction in labor pain in the first stage of the active phase from severe to moderate after applying a warm compress and 13% experienced a reduction from very severe to severe pain. Bivariate analysis found a p-value (p<0.05), meaning that there was a significant relationship between the effect of warm compresses and a decrease in the intensity of labor pain in the first active phase (p=0.001). The conclusion of this research is that warm compresses are effective in reducing the intensity of labor pain in the active phase of the first stage and can be one of the non-pharmacological interventions recommended in birthing facilities. The implementation of this method is expected to increase maternal comfort during labor and minimize the need for more invasive medical interventions.
