Abstract

The development of business in the accommodation service sector in Bali createscompetition to obtain income that matches or even exceeds the target, so hotelsneed to improve performance. Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) is one ofthe keys to measuring hotel performance. To maximize revenue without reducingguest satisfaction, The Alena applies a price policy of Best Available Rate (BAR).This BAR is applied using nominal US dollars (USD) so that the exchange rate(USD against rupiah) will affect RevPAR which must be reported using thenominal rupiah. This study aims to determine the effect of the Best Available Rateand Currency Exchange Rate on Revenue Per Available Room at The Alena Resortin 2017 to 2019. The results show that BAR (X1) and currency exchange rates (X2)have a significant effect on RevPAR ( Y) at The Alena Resort, both partially andsimultaneously which contributed 31.4% while the remaining 68.6% wasinfluenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil penerapan model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaining terhadap aktivitas belajar dan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII A3 SMP Negeri 3 Sawan yang berjumlah 28 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, tes, dan penyebaran angket. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas belajar matematika siswa meningkat pada setiap siklusnya. Pada siklus I, siswa yang berada pada kriteria kurang aktif sebanyak 1 orang, kriteria cukup aktif sebanyak 26 orang, dan kriteria aktif sebanyak 1 orang. Pada sikus II, siswa yang berada pada kriteria cukup aktif sebanyak 17 orang dan kriteria aktif sebanyak 11 orang. Pada siklus III, siswa yang berada pada kriteria aktif sebanyak 26 orang dan kriteria sangat aktif sebanyak 2 orang. Peningkatan rata-rata nilai pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya yaitu dari 65,48 menjadi 75,55 pada siklus I, dari 53,74 menjadi 75,83 pada siklus II, dan dari 53,74 menjadi 78,43 pada siklus III. Peningkatan tersebut dapat tercapai karena siswa berperan sebagai fasilitator, memfasilitasi siswa lain dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sehingga melatih keaktifan siswa untuk berusaha memahami suatu materi, meningkatkan kemampuan saling bertukar pendapat, dan keberanian mengutarakan pendapat secara tebuka yang menyebabkan terjadinya interaksi, baik antara siswa dengan siswa maupun antara siswa dengan guru. Skor tanggapan seetiap siswa terhadap model pembelajaran yang diterapkan berada pada kriteria positif.Kata kunci: Student Facilitator and Explaining, aktivitas belajar, pemahaman konsep matematika, tanggapan siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to develop AMP (Authentic Mathematical Problems) that are valid, practical, effective, and know the characteristics of AMP to improve critical thinking ability. This study uses a Research Based Design approach with discussion and analysis of problems, planning, repetitive cycles, and reflection. AMP were implemented using the IKRAR learning model (Initiation, Construction-Reconstruction, Application, and Reflection) with effective questions. The trial was conducted at SD N 1 Ubud involving fifth grade students and a teacher. The validity data was collected by conducting expert tests that were adjusted to the validity assessment instruments components of AMP. The practicality data was collected through questionnaires and observation sheets in learning activities then analyzed descriptively. The effectiveness data was collected through critical thinking ability tests consisting of AMP. The characteristics data of AMP was collected based on studies, physical form, and findings during the trials. The results show that the AMP in IKRAR learning to improve critical thinking ability are valid, practical, and effective. The characteristics of AMP are based on real life problems, can measure critical thinking ability, encourage students to be interested in determining solutions, train students to think divergently, and do not use presupposition words (for example: if, suppose, etc).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent to which leadership (X) influences employee turnover intention (Y) at The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali. This study uses a quantitative approach with a population of 112 employees of The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali, using a saturated census sampling method. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale to measure 14 statements from the leadership and turnover intention variables. The data obtained were then analyzed using simple linear regression with the help of the SPSS 23 version 23 application for windows. By using simple linear regression, it can be obtained that leadership has a significant negative effect on employee turnover intention with a value of -tcount < -ttable, namely -10.898 < -1.659. Leadership has a negative value with a beta value of -0.459 on turnover intention.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work discipline on the performance of Adiwana Bisma Hotel employees analyzed using the Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS). The type of data needed by researchers is quantitative data with an experimental research approach. This survey involved 42 employees, supervisors, and managers. This study took a sample of 42 people. Data were collected through questionnaires and assessed for validity, reliability, classical assumption tests, and basic linear regression. At the Adiwana Bisma Ubud Hotel, work discipline significantly improves staff performance.

Abstract

Red rice bran contains various secondary metabolite compounds. The phenolic compound content in red rice bran has high antioxidant activity which has the potential to be used in solid soap preparations to protect the skin from free radicals. The research aimed to formulate red rice bran extract into a solid soap preparation that has antioxidant activity. Extraction was carried out by maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. The viscous extract obtained was subjected to phytochemical screening. Solid soap formulation with the addition of various extract concentrations of 1.5%, 2% and 2.5%. Antioxidant activity testing was carried out using the DPPH method. The research result showed that red rice bran extract had very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 18,164 ppm, then it can be formulated into soap preparations that have antioxidant activity. The highest antioxidant activity in solid soap preparations varied in concentration of 2.5% red rice bran extract (F3) with an IC50 value of 526.80 ppm, 2% concentration (F2) with an IC 50 value of 664.28 ppm, and the lowest in variations concentration of 1.5% (F1) with an IC 50 value of 5042.20 ppm. The physical quality characteristics of solid soap preparations from red rice bran extract (organoleptic characteristics, pH, free alkali, free fatty acids and foam height) met the requirement in accordance with SNI quality requirements for solid soap preparations.

Abstract

The hospitality industry demands graduates who not only master theoretical knowledge but also possess practical readiness and hold a positive perception of employers as an attraction in their career choice. This study aims to examine the effect of internship experience (X?) and employer branding (X?) on career intention (Y) among Hospitality students at Bali Tourism Polytechnic. A quantitative approach with a survey design was employed, involving a sample of 81 final-year students selected from a population of 484 through purposive sampling and stratified random sampling. Primary data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed via multiple linear regression. The results indicate that internship experience has a significant effect on career intention (p = 0.000 < 0.05), whereas employer branding does not exert a significant effect on career intention (p = 0.145 > 0.05). Simultaneously, both variables exert a significant influence on career intention (F-calculated = 184.30 > F-table = 3.11; p = 0.000 < 0.05). Moreover, the variables of internship experience and employer branding together account for 82.1% of the variance in students’ career intention, demonstrating that the relationship between these independent variables and career intention is very strong.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to ascertain how price and location affected consumers' desire to purchase. The Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa served as the venue for this study. One hundred visitors who were familiar with the hotel but had never been there made up the study's population. Multiple linear regression is used in the analytical process using SPSS version 26 for Windows. The study's findings show that, with tcount > ttable = 4.591 > 1.660 and a significance value < ? = 0.000 < 0.05, the Location Variable (X1) partially and influences Buying Interest. At tcount > ttable value = 6.378 > 1.660 and significance value < ? = 0.000 < 0.05, the Price variable (X2) has a somewhat positive and significant influence on Purchase Intention. Simultaneously, the location and price variables affect the Buying Interest with values ??of Fcount > Ftable = 66.172 > 3.09 and significance < = 0.000 < 0.05. It can be inferred from the study's results that Location and Price have a positive and significant impact on Buying Interest and simultaneously have an impact on Buying Intention at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa.

Abstract

This research aimed at investigate the decline in purchasing interest at the Zuri Express Jimbaran Bali Hotel in early 2024, primarily due to a decrease in visits to the hotel's website. The study uses data collection techniques such as documentation and questionnaires, including searches on Tripadvisor and other online review platforms. The analysis approach includes quantitative descriptive, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, F test, t test, and coefficient of determination. The findings reveal that purchase interest at the hotel is significantly influenced by review quality, consistency, quantity, and recency, with review quality, consistency, and quantity having a positive and significant effect. However, review recency does not significantly influence purchase interest. The study highlights the importance of online reviews in influencing consumer behavior and purchasing decisions.
