Abstract

Model of problem based learning (PBL) is a learning approach where students are exposed to a problem that then through the problem solving the students learn the abilities through inquiry and thought so it can make the student become independent in learning and solving problems. This research aims to determine whether the application of the model of problem based learning (PBL) in the teaching of history can improve critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of history lesson of students in the third grade of social class 1 of State Senior High School 1 Wuryantoro Wonogiri,Academic  Year 2015/2016. This study is a Class Action Research (Classroom Action Research) consists of three cycles with the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This research subject is the third grade students of social class1 State Senior High School 1 Wuryantoro Wonogiri involving 25 students. Data collection technique used tests, observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Data analysis technique used descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the research showed based on test results, critical thinking skills students acquired in the first cycle with an average value of 73.40 and classical passing grade 64%, the second cycle with an average value of 77.20 and classical passing grade 80%, and the cycle III with an average of 80.60 and classical passing grade 88%. While the study results obtained by students in the first cycle with an average value of 73.20 and classical passing grade 68%, the second cycle with an average value of 76.60 and classical passing grade 76%, the third cycle with the average value at 80.20 with the achievement of 84% passing grade . The application of the model problem based learning (PBL) can improve critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) To determine the application of learning models Cooperative Learning to Make A Match technique in teaching social studies at VIIE grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Gesi Sragen the academic year 2014/2015. (2) To determine the Application of Cooperative Learning learning model with Make A Match technique can improve learning achievement IPS VIIE grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Gesi Sragen the academic year 2014/2015. This study uses a Class Action Research (Classroom Action Research). The subjects of this study were students of class VII E SMP Negeri 1 Gesi Sragen. This data collection is done by using interviews, tests, observation, and questionnaires. Mechanical engineering data validity checking with triangulation method. Technical analysis is done by penggumpulan of data, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research process conducted three cycles, in each cycle includes four stages: planning action, action, observation and reflection. The results showed that: (1) Implementation of the learning model of Cooperative Learning to Make A Match technique in teaching social studies in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Gesi can be implemented properly. Students can be encouraged to learn while playing, in a manner to match each card being owned. IPS Learning becomes more interesting, students more easily understand the content of the material presented by the teacher, because the students have been preparing for study before following study. (2) Research has been carried out proved that the learning outcomes of students in participating in the learning process is increasing. In the pre-cycle the number of children while that scored in the top 75 a total of 11 students (34.38%) . While the first cycle while children who scored in the top 75 to as many as 14 students or 43.75% of the the total number of students. In the second cycle  while the students who scored in the top KKM (75) as many as 23 students or 71.8%  on the number of students entirely. The third cycle students  who scored in the top 75 by 28, or 87.9% with an average of 85.6 hump.

Abstract

Background: Research development aims to: (1) described teaching history in senior high school district Pulau Rimau; (2) described the development of material based history of Peristiwa Front Langkan to improve people nationalism; (3) described the effectiveness of material based history the front ledge to improve people nationalism students.  Methods: Research conducted is research development (Research and Development) using methods of Borg and Gall .The method includes: (1) the study introduction , namely the literature study, field studies, and findings teaching needs; (2) developmental stage covering the prototype design, validation expert, the trial one by one, and trial to more participants; (3) the step of experiment the effectiveness of covering test whether material and feasibility history.  Conclusion: The research results show that: (1) teaching history still focused on one source the textbook without any additional or other sources a supporting, the curriculum is using KTSP curriculum, teachers have not have sufficient knowledge about the development of teaching materials; (2) The teaching materials developed with follow a procedure the development of which adapted to a syllabus, validation three experts who put a value the average score 4 for a category ?good?;  trial one by one done on five students and fifteen students, the revision related the literature and grammar; the results of the tryouts broad shows differences in average between class control and class experiment where class experiment more better in terms of achievement and nasioanlisme; (3) the implementation of teaching materials history based Peristiwa Front Langkan to improve nasioanlism proven effective, proven from the acquisition value post-test on class control and experiment to aspects level of achievement with significant 0,000 < 0,025 and than nasionalism aspect with significant 0,000 < 0,025. Shows that Ho rejected which means there is a difference in positive and significant .

Abstract

          This research aims to know whether this implementation of students team achievement division (STAD) with documentary film can improve student’s patriotism and IPS learning achievement of class IXD SMP Negeri 2 Baturetno, Wonogiri.         This research was classroom action research, consist of three cycles with planning stage, implementation, observation, and reflection. Subject of this research was class of IXD SMPN 2 Baturetno totally 26 students. Data was collected using observation, documentary, and test. Data were analyzed by data collection, data display, and conclusion.          The result of the cycle I was in class IXD SMPN 2 Baturetno Kabupaten Wonogiri, 14 students (53,84%) and 6 students (23,08%) have a low patriotism, however there was 6 students (23,08%) have high patriotism. The students learning achievement  of this class was 73,08, it was under of the KKM grade  75. From 26 students, 16 students (61,54%) passed KKM, with that result can conclude if the IPS learning achievement should improved because the persentage of classical passing grade  in the first cycle was not appropriate with the expectation that was 80% off whole students class, then needed  the next cycle that was cycle II. The result of cycle II showed that the student’s patriotism was belong to high category where showed from average of achievement learning was 69,33. Frequency of group distribution was 16 students (61,54%) was getting high and very high patriotism and also  10 students (38,46%) had medium patriotism. The students learning  achievement was 79,62 with classical passing grade was 73,08%, with the result that persentage classical passing grade on cycle II was not appropriate with the expectation that was 80% off whole students class. The result of cycle III showed that most of students belong to high patriotism with details 22 students (84,62%) and at least just 4 students (15,38%) still belong to medium patriotism. The students learning achievement of class was 81,55and could  passed KKM that was 75 where from 26 students, 22(84,62%)  students passed KKM and conclude that percentage classical passing grade of students learning achievement in cycle III was appropiate with the expectation which more than 80% of whole students.

Abstract

The aims of this research were: (1) to describe the process of history learning in high school in Surakarta; (2) to develop learning material which is a module of controversial history with problem solving as learning method, and (3) to analyze effectiveness of module to improve student’s critical thinking skill. The method of this research was R&D and used ADDIE as the model. Methods of data collection were interviewing, document analysis, and critical thinking test. Data analysis was done by non parametric-statistical analysis. Results of this research showed: (1) both teacher and students still learned history by using conventional method and never been studying controversial history; (2) controversial history module got scored by validator with the score average up to 146/153 or 95%; (3) analysis result of score of students critical thinking showed the differences point between control and experiment class was 0,007 and the effectiveness score of module reached 0,01 which meant the module was effective enough to be applied to increase students critical thinking.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know which with the implementation of cooperative Jigsaw learning model can increase motivation and student learning outcomes on Social Science in VII-A Class, SMP Negeri 2 SambungmacanSragen. This research used Classroom Action Research (PTK) procedure. This subject of this research was VII-A Class, SMP Negeri 2 Sambungmacan Sragen with 32 students. This research consist of three cycles and each cycle in this research held in one meeting. The stages in this research are planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The methods of collecting observation data used observation, documentation, note field, and test. The technique of data analysis that used is qualitative data analysis technique. The result can be conclude: the implementation of Jigsaw learning model through image medium on basic competence describing the activity of economic principle can increase excitement or enthusiasm of student learning and lots of fun. The implementation of Jigsaw learning model through image medium can increase motivation and student learning outcomes quite high. Based on the questionnaire answer of Social Science learning motivation that given to student in the first cycle, can be known that the average is 128.13 or 64.06%, the second cycle is 134.53 or 67.27%, and the third cycle is 152.50 or 76.25%. While the value of cognitive post-test learning outcomes average in first cycle is 67.66 with completeness achievement 59.38, the second cycle is 76.09 with completeness achievement 78.13, and the third cycle is 85.00 with completeness achievement 100%, accordingly can be conclude thatthe implementation of Jigsaw learning model through image medium at Social Science learning can increase the motivation and student learning outcomes in VII-A Class, SMP NegeriSambungmacanSragen.

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mendeskripsikan model pembelajaran sejarah yang dipakai saat ini di SMAN 1 Bangunrejo Lampung Tengah, (2) Mendeskripsikan pengembangan model pembelajaran berbasis arsip ketransmigrasian untuk meningkatkan kemampuan eksplanasi sejarah, (3) Mendeskripsikan efektifitas model pembelajaran sejarah berbasis arsip ketransmigrasian untuk meningkatkan kemampuan eksplanasi sejarah.            Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang dimodifikasi dari konsep Borg dan Gall. Implementasi tahapan disesuaikan kebutuhan peneliti. Implementasi tahapannya meliputi studi pendahuluan, pengembangan model pembelajaran, dan uji efektifitas model. Analisis dan kelayakan model menggunakan skala Likert 1-5. Sedangkan uji efektifitas menggunakan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, guru lebih banyak menggunakan metode ceramah dengan paradigma berpusat pada guru (teacher centered). Kebanyakan siswa tertarik dengan arsip ketransmigrasian. Tingkat kemampuan eksplanasi sejarah siswa masih rendah. Sebagian besar siswa masih belum mengetahui bahwa kemampuan eksplanasi sejarah sangat penting dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi langkah-langkah persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan penutup.            Validasi oleh pakar dijadikan pertimbangan untuk menyempurnakan model yang akan dikembangkan pada tahap uji coba. Hasil uji validasi model diperoleh nilai 4,61 (baik), validasi RPP diperoleh nilai 4,09 (baik), validasi soal dengan nilai 4,18 (baik) dan validasi bahan ajar/materi diperoleh nilai 4 (baik). Pada Uji T diperoleh nilai 3,990 dengan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,025, artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap model yang dikembangkan, sehingga rerata sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan kelas eksperimen tidak sama. Dengan demikian model pembelajaran sejarah yang dikembangkan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan eksplanasi sejarah siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to know whether the model application of Discovery Learning through visiting historical places can increase historical consciousness and learning acchievement of students  class XI IPS 1 SMANegeri 1 Wuryantoro, Wonogiri  in 2015/2016 academic year.This research method is a Classroom Action Research consists of three cycles with the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research subyect was class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri Wuryantoro, Wonogiri as many as 26 students. The data collection technique used tests, observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the analysis techniques of descriptive qualitative.The results of the research showed based on test results, obtained historical conciousness of  students on the first cycle with an average value of 73.58 and classical passing grade 61,53%, the second cycle with an average value of 74.62 and classical passing grade 73,07%, and the third cycle  with an average of 77.45 and classical passing grade 92,31%. While the students’ learning achievements obtained  in the first cycle with an average value of 73.58 and classical passing grade 51,85%, the second cycle with an average value of 76.65 and classical passing grade 76,92%, the third cycle with the average value at 80.23 with the achievement of 88,40% passing grade . The application of  discovery learning model through visiting historical places can increase historical consciousness and learning achievement of students.
