Abstract

A heat exchanger is a tool that is used to increase or reduce fluid temperatures. One type of this tool is a type of double pipe, this type is the simplest if compared to other types of heat exchanging devices, where hot fluid flows in the inner tube and cold fluid flows in the anulus. This study aims to analyze the efficiency of laboratory scale heat exchanging devices with water hot and cold fluids. The result shows the average effectiveness of this equipment is 20% this result is better when compared to several other studies which on the laboratory scale only show maximum efficiency at 17%. The fouling factor is an obstacle that causes a decrease in the effect of heat exchangers, the greater the fouling factor, the greater the heat resistance caused by the pipe. This study shows the amount of Fooling factor of 0.006, the value is greater than the available Fouling Factor constant. The results stated that there is a relationship between remediable numbers (Reynold numbers) with the amount of heat transferred by heat fluid. The greater the value of Reynold the greater the expressed heat. Even though it has high efficiency, this equipment can still not be used because of some considerations such as low efficiency and efficient..

Abstract

Minyak goreng adalah minyak nabati yang dimana memiliki masa penggunaan yang terbatas dalam pemakaiannya.Oleh karena itu, minyak goreng yang melewati masa pengunaannya harus digantikan dengan minyak goreng yang baru. Minyak goreng yang tidak bisa dipakai inilah yang biasa disebut dengan minyak jelantah. Salah satu bentuk pemanfaatan minyak jelantah dengan cara mengolahnya kembali untuk pembuatan sabun padat. Sabun padat dihasilkan dari proses saponifikasi, yaitu hidrolisis lemak menjadi asam lemak dan gliserol. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu untuk mengembangkan pengetahuan siswa siswi SMP Roudlotul Ulum Bangil, Pasuruan mengenai Technopreneurship. Technopreneurship itu sendiri yaitu penggabunga teknolgi dalam pembentukan sebuah usaha atau kewirausahaan. Salah satunya yaitu dengan mengolah limbah yang menjadi bahan yang terbuang yang banyak orang tidak mengetahui bahwa bila ddiproses dengan baik akan menghasilkan produk dengan nilai ekonomi yang tinggi. Metode yang kami gunakan yaitu pengumpulan minyak jelantah, pembutan sabun dari minyak jelantah,tahap analisa dan tahap pengenalan produk. Didapatkan produk sabun dari minyak jelantah dengan branding ‘Sabun MJ’ dengan kelayakan analisa usaha dari BEP dalam banyaknya produk terjual sebesar 42 pcs dan BEP dalam rupiah sebesar Rp.112.200. Kegiatan menyelaraskan teknologi dan enterpreneurship dalam pelatihan pemberdayaan masyarakat terutama dikalangan siswa – siswi SMP Roudlotul Ulum Bangil memberikan hasil yang baik. Dimana segala sumber dalam membangun kewirausahaan dengan teknologi tepat guna telah dilakukan. Dari proses pembuatan sabun dari minyak jelantah, analisa SWOT, analisa keuangan hingga analisa marketing telah di rancang dan dilakukan dengan baik.

Abstract

Penelitian  Tindakan  Kelas (PTK) adalah sebuah penelitian tindakan (Action Research) yang dilakukan oleh guru di dalam kelas dengan tujuan memperbaiki mutu pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Akan tetapi pada prakteknya, masih banyak guru yang kesulitan dalam membuat laporan PTK. Sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi hal tersebut maka diadakanlah Workshop Penulisan  Penelitian Tindakan  Kelas Pada Guru-Guru SMP Maarif 10 Bangun Rejo. Tujuan dari program pengabdian ini untuk membantu guru-guru dalam menyusun dan membuat karya tulis ilmiah khususnya PTK. Hasil  akhir  dalam  pelatihan  ini  diperoleh  data  bahwa  adanya  peningkatan pengetahuan   pelaksanaan   model   pembelajaran,   analisis,   dan   mampu   menghasilkan produk PTK

Abstract

Mengkudu merupakan buah yang memiliki banyak manfaat, Oleh karena itu penelitian ini mengkaji penambahan ekstrak buah mengkudu dan penambahan NaOH terhadap pembuatan sabun transparan. Penambahan ekstrak buah mengkudu dan jumlah NaOH sebagai variabel independen di tentukan pada 4 tingkatan yaitu 0,5,10, 13 gram ekstrak pada penambahan NaOH 10 gram. Selanjutnya pada kondisi ekstrak buah mengkudu 5 gram dianalisa pengaruh penambahan NaOH. Jumlah penambahan masa NaOH yang dikaji pada penelitian ini adalah 5, 7, 12 dan 15 gram. Metode pengujian sabun dilakukan dengan pengujian stabilitas busa, bilangan asam dan biangan penyabunan. Hasilnya bilangan asam dari sabun memiliki nilai kurang dari 5% dengan bilangan penyabunan rata-rata 181,125 gram tiap gram asam lemak. Sedangkan untuk uji tingkat kesukaan responden terhadap sabun dilakukan dengan metode organoleptik terhadap bau, tekstur dan warna dari sabun. Berdasarkan dari penelitian ini dapat diambil kesimpulan kondisi terbaik untuk formulasi sabun transparan adalah dengan penambahan 10 gram NaOH dan 5 gram ekstrak buah mengkudu.

Abstract

Biodiesel from rice bran using an uncatalyzed in-situ transesterification method in subcritical ethanol - water has been investigated. This method is known to be economical because the experimental steps are reduced and environmentally friendly because we do not use a catalyst. In this experiment, CO2 was used as a compressed gas and ethyl acetate as a co-solvent to increase yield. This reactor is equipped with a stirrer that uses a magnetic stirrer. Rice bran, a mixture of water, ethanol and ethyl acetate in a mole ratio of 1:10:9:2 is fed into the reactor, then injecting CO2 gas to increase the pressure and to ensure the reaction takes place under subcritical conditions under operating pressure of 80 bar.Temperature (120 - 200ᵒC) and reaction time (1 - 4 hours) were investigated to increase biodiesel. The highest yield of FAEE composition at 200ᵒC for 3 hours was 91.264% with the results of calculating the kinetics of the transesterification reaction, the values of k1 and k2 were 0.349.10-3 and 0.0045 mL3.mmol-3.min-1. Meanwhile, in the esterification reaction, the values for k1 and k2 were 0.0194 and 0.0579 mL3.mmol-3.min-1.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the flavonoid compound of beluntas leaves (Pluchea indica L) using maceration and soxhletation extraction methods. Extraction uses 96% methanol solvent with a ratio of 1:10, 1:15, 1:20 w/v and with a soxhletation extraction time of 60 minutes, 120 minutes, 180 minutes at a temperature of 80oC, while the maceration time is 3 days at room temperature. Qualitative testing of flavonoid compounds uses the Shinoda test which is characterized by a change in the color of the sample to yellow or red-orange. The test results of all samples used showed the presence of flavonoid compounds which were characterized by changes in the color of the samples from yellow to red-orange. The research results showed that the best flavonoid content using the maceration extraction method was 51.52 mg QE/g at a ratio of 1:20 w/v, while the flavonoid content using the soxhletation extraction method was 53.96 mg QE/g at a ratio of 1:20 w/v.

Abstract

The need for boards as a material for furniture is increasing, therefore alternative materials are needed to replace wooden boards, such as sandwich composite boards. Coconut is a tropical plant that has long been known by Indonesian people. Coconut is one of the plants that can be used as a composite board, namely coconut fiber. This research aims to make composite boards from coconut fiber to determine the compressive strength and absorption capacity of sea water. The materials for this research are coconut fiber and polyester resin. Coconut fiber is a waste that is rarely used so the waste can become serious waste. This research uses the Compressing Molding method at room temperature where the mold is loaded. In this research, compression testing uses ASTM D 659 standards and seawater absorption testing uses ASTM D 570 standards. The results of this research show optimal conditions at a volume fraction of 20% with a core thickness of 6 mm, namely 8,230 MPa in compression testing and 25% thickness. The 8 mm core in the Sea Water Absorption Capacity test had the lowest absorption capacity at 0.16%.

Abstract

The program of utilizing organic waste as compost to improve agricultural productivity in Semare Village aims to reduce dependency on chemical fertilizers by utilizing organic waste as an environmentally friendly fertilizer. This program involves the local community in waste segregation and composting training, which can be used to improve soil quality and agricultural yields. Despite facing challenges such as limited infrastructure and resources, this program successfully raised environmental awareness, empowered the community, and improved agricultural productivity sustainably. With active community participation, the program has the potential to reduce waste in Semare Village and create new economic opportunities.

Abstract

Community empowerment through the management of inorganic waste in Trewung Village, Grati Pasuruan, aims to create sustainable ecological development while improving the local economy. This program involves collaboration between the Supporting Team and the village community to manage plastic waste through sorting, Ecobrick and paving block production, and the development of a medicinal plant garden. This process not only reduces waste volume but also adds economic value through recycled products. The program has provided significant benefits, particularly for housewives, by increasing household income and strengthening the local economy. The results show that community-based waste management can create a cleaner, healthier environment while opening sustainable economic opportunities for the people of Trewung Village.

Abstract

This community service project focuses on addressing the issue of limited agricultural land and the need for efficient farming solutions in Bangsri Village. The main objective is to improve the economic independence of the community through the implementation of hydroponic technology, enabling them to cultivate crops in limited spaces. The approach used is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), which empowers the local community by utilizing existing resources. The project involves training, providing necessary equipment, and offering ongoing assistance in maintaining and harvesting the crops. The results indicate a significant increase in crop yields and economic benefits for participating households. Additionally, the community has gained new skills in hydroponic farming, enhancing both food security and income. This initiative has shown promising outcomes in enhancing agricultural productivity and economic sustainability in the village
