Abstract

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a syndrome that occurs in 1-4% of the total population worldwide. This condition causes disruption of function and motion in the wrist that spreads to the fingers. Physiotherapy intervention is necessary to reduce the severity of symptoms in patients with CTS. Neurodynamic Techniques are nerve mobilization techniques that aim to restore homeostasis in the nerves so as to reduce pain and improve functional ability. Materials and methods. This research was conducted through searching several databases, found 31 articles which were then filtered and selected as many as 10 articles. However, of the 11 articles, further screening was carried out again based on inclusion criteria. The final result after selection is 9 articles. Results. From the 9 articles that have been reviewed neurodynamic technique provides significant benefits to reduce pain and increase functional ability in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. Conclusion. Good results can be obtained if the treatment is done regularly with a dose of 2-3 times a week as many as 3 sets of 20 repetitions per training session and accompanied by exercise therapy performed every day. Neurodynamic technique can produce a positive effect on the reduction of pain in cases of CTS so as to restore the function of motion in the wrist and fingers. Keywords: Carpal tunnel syndrome, neurodynamic technique, grip strength, functional ability

Abstract

Herniated nucleus pulposus (HNP) is a situation where the annulus fibrosus along nucleus pulposus protruding into the spinal canal. HNP patients often complain of back pain radiating to the lower limbs, especially when bending activity. Rehabilitation programs do to help reduce the pain. The aim of this research knew which treatment was more effective among William's Flexion compared to Core Stability in reducing pain for HNP patients. This study used a double-blind experimental design with an alpha value of 5%. The study was conducted at the Clinic “X”. Sample was 18 patients with medical diagnoses HNP undergoing therapy from September to December 2013, taken with randomization techniques. Pain was measured using the Visual Analoque Scale (VAS). The results of the t-test analysis showed that Core stability (mean=4.56, SD=1.130) was more effective than William's flexion [mean = 2.78, SD = 0.972; t(16) = - 3.578, p = 0.003] in reducing pain for HNP patients. The results of One-Way ANOVA showed that there was no significant difference in pain reduction produced by William's flexion frequency of treatment [F(2, 6)=1.857, p=0.236]. In contrast, there were significant differences in pain reduction produced by Core stability frequency treatment [F(1, 6)=12.333, p=0.007].

Abstract

Musculoskeletal problems are complaints on the parts of the skeletal muscles felt by someone start complaints very mild to very sick. When the muscle receives static load repeatedly and for a long time will may cause complaints of damage to the joints, ligaments and tendons. Complaints to the damage this is what is usually termed the complaint musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) or injury to the musculoskeletal system (Grandjean, 1993; Lemasters, 1996). This study aims to know a more effective treatment of electrotherapy and deep massage with massage than picking up, in reducing pain in patients with musculoskeletal pain complaints. This study used a quasi-experimental design (quasi experimental) double blind with a value of 5% negligent. This research was conducted at the Rumah Fisio Clinic and Patient’s home. These samples included 25 patients, with medical diagnosis of musculoskeletal pain who underwent physiotherapy program from May to July 2016, was taken by randomization techniques. Pain was measured by using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). The results of the analysis of the t test showed that electrotherapy and deep massage (mean = 3.18) more effective than Picking up (mean = 2) in reducing the patient's pain

Abstract

The wellness tourism industry, especially yoga, is growing rapidly, with an estimated market value of $1,974.81 billion by 2031. However, the development of this industry in Indonesia is still categorized as developing. This study aims to explore the portrait and condition of the development of the yoga industry as part of wellness tourism and identify the urgency and factors that play a role in its development. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which refers to the PRISMA protocol, is used to collect, analyze, and evaluate relevant documents related to the yoga industry. The analysis results show that research related to yoga and wellness tourism increased from 2015-2025, with three main clusters formed from the data analyzed. The development of the yoga industry has significant potential to improve public health and welfare and strengthen the tourism sector. The synergy the government, society, and related stakeholders need synergy to support this development.
