Abstract

This study examines the influence of the role of Civic Education (Civics Education) on the penetration of foreign cultures into Indonesian culture among adolescents. In the era of globalization, Indonesian teenagers are increasingly exposed to various foreign cultures through social media, entertainment, and direct interaction. This study aims to identify the extent to which Civics Education can shape adolescents’ attitudes and behaviors in dealing with foreign cultural influences and maintaining Indonesian cultural values. The methodology used in this study includes surveys and in-depth interviews with a sample of teenagers from various schools in Indonesia. The results showed that Civics Education plays a significant role in raising adolescents’ awareness of the importance of maintaining national cultural identity. In addition, it was found that adolescents who have a good understanding of Civics Education tend to be more selective in accepting foreign cultural elements, and are better able to filter negative influences that can damage local culture. Overall, this study confirms the importance of strengthening the Civics curriculum in schools as a strategic effort to protect and promote Indonesian culture in the midst of globalization. Thus, it is hoped that Indonesia’s young generation can become agents of change who not only appreciate, but also maintain the nation’s cultural heritage.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pembentukan karakter beradab melalui Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan dengan fokus pada implementasi sila kedua Pancasila, yaitu kemanusiaan yang adil dan beradab. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi literatur, yang mencakup tinjauan terhadap berbagai sumber jurnal terkait Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan dan implementasi sila kedua Pancasila. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan memainkan peran vital dalam menginternalisasi nilai-nilai moral dan etika, yang selaras dengan prinsip-prinsip kemanusiaan dan keadilan. Pendidikan ini tidak hanya berfungsi untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang hak dan kewajiban sebagai warga negara, tetapi juga mendorong untuk menjadi individu yang beradab, toleran, dan menghargai perbedaan. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya penguatan Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan sebagai sarana strategis untuk membangun masyarakat yang adil dan beradab di Indonesia.

Abstract

Pancasila serves as the fundamental principles of values in Indonesian society, nation, and government, playing a central role as the cornerstone of the country. Given the ongoing social, cultural, and political transformations, it is crucial to grasp the perspectives of students at North Sumatra State Islamic University (UINSU) on the importance and pertinence of incorporating Pancasila into their daily lives. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the viewpoints of UINSU students regarding the significance of incorporating Pancasila. The chosen research approach involved conducting a survey with UINSU students from different academic programs, where a questionnaire was distributed to gather information. The data was examined using a qualitative method to gain an understanding of students' perspectives on Pancasila values and how they apply to daily life. The findings of the study indicate that most participants recognize the significance of Pancasila in developing the national character and identity, despite variations in their comprehension and recognition of these principles.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of Civic Education (PKn) in shaping national identity through a literature review method. Civic education plays a crucial role in instilling national values, love for the homeland, as well as understanding rights and responsibilities as citizens. The literature review findings indicate that Civic Education can foster a strong national identity through holistic and participatory learning. However, its implementation in the field often faces various challenges that require further attention.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Civic Education (Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan - PKn) in fostering national identity awareness among teenagers. Utilizing a literature review methodology, this research compiles and analyzes findings from various Indonesian journals. The results indicate that effective PKn education, particularly when utilizing interactive teaching methods such as discussions, simulations, and group projects, significantly enhances students' understanding and appreciation of national values, history, and symbols. Despite these positive outcomes, the study identifies challenges such as inadequate resources and differing interpretations of national values across regions. It emphasizes the importance of competent educators and the integration of Pancasila values in the PKn curriculum. The study concludes that with proper support from the government, schools, and the community, PKn can effectively cultivate a strong national identity in the younger generation, preparing them to face global challenges while maintaining their national identity.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of social media integration, participation and understanding of students in learning civic education, as well as recommendations for educators and policy makers in designing innovative learning strategies that are relevant to the needs of the times. It is hoped that using social media can make the learning atmosphere collaborative and dynamic. Using the literature study method, this research examines various relevant sources to analyze how social media platforms can be used as effective learning tools. The results of this study show that optimizing civic education through social media can be done by utilizing various types of social media, creating creative and innovative content, and following accounts that provide national insight. Thus, civic education can be more effective and respond to the needs of the whole community. In conclusion, the use of social media in civic education needs to be continuously developed to improve learning effectiveness. Collaboration between technology and education is key to making learning more engaging and effective for learners, and to help shape smart and ethical citizens in the digital era.

Abstract

Citizenship Education (PKn) in schools is very important for forming the character of students and plays a strategic role in increasing the potential of the young generation to become good and democratic citizens based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. This research will discuss the role of Civics in overcoming bullying at school and on social media.  , with special emphasis on how best to implement Civics to prevent bullying behavior.  This research uses library research as its method.  The research results show that, both directly and indirectly, citizenship education plays an important role in overcoming bullying.  Citizenship education can help students become more aware of themselves as citizens, understand their rights and obligations as citizens, and learn to handle different situations, including harassment.
