Abstract

Sharp development progress of information technology has affected many aspects including data security. This is because classified data are often transferred between systems. In this case, data hiding exists to protect such data. Some methods which have been proposed, however, are not yet optimal concerning the amount of the secret and the quality of the resulted stego data. In this paper, we explore an audio file as the medium to carry the secret data which has been extracted into binary. Before the process begins, the cover is converted to binary and each sample’s bits are divided into two groups, one is used as the location of the embedded 4 bits whereas the second part locates the two bits that are randomly selected as the key. The experimental results have validated that the capacity is high and there is no much impact on the quality. Moreover, compared to the current LSB methods the security is exceedingly enhanced.

Abstract

Internet telah menjadi kebutuhan masyarakat untuk mendapatkan dan menyebarkan informasi sehingga dapat mempercepat proses bisnis yang telah ada sebelumnya. Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) Bahasa Inggris SMA Provinsi Jawa Timur adalah lembaga non-profit yang menaungi guru-guru bahasa inggris tingkat SMA yang membutuhkan sarana untuk berinteraksi dengan anggotanya dan masyarakat. Kebutuhan ini disambut oleh Laboratorium Komputasi Berbasis Jaringan (KBJ) Departemen Teknik Informatika ITS dengan membangun website yang dapat membantu kebutuhan interaksi tersebut. Website ini memiliki tiga tingkat peran yang dapat digunakan untuk mengelola website tersebut yang disesuaikan dengan fungsi-fungsi yang tersedia. Pembagian peran ini dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan website dan menjaga keamanan data. Pembangunan website ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan produktifitas pengurus MGMP Bahasa Inggris Jawa Timur dalam menjalankan tugasnya. Dengan fitur yang dibangun pada website tersebut, MGMP Bahasa Inggris dapat menjangkau anggotanya dan juga menyampaikan program-program dan capaiannya kepada masyarakat umum.

Abstract

Perkembangan dan penggunaan teknologi informasi telah membantu manusia menyelesaikan pekerjaannya secara efisien. Teknologi ini telah diimplementasikan dan dipelajari di setiap jenjang pendidikan, mulai dari SD sampai dengan perguruan tinggi. Sehingga, untuk sebagian institusi, teknologi informasi bukan menjadi barang asing lagi. Akan tetapi, tidak semua sekolah mengenal teknologi informasi dengan baik. Sehingga, diperlukan pemahaman yang memadai agar bisa digunakan dan dikembangkan oleh mereka. Di dalam program pengabdian yang dikerjakan ini, kami berusaha untuk melakukan peningkataan pemahaman tersebut, khususnya teknologi yang berkaitan dengan Internet of Things (IoT). Hal ini dengan mempertimbangkan bahwa teknologi ini cukup bermanfaat, simpel dan relatif mudah diimplementasikan. Sebagai mitra pengabdian, kami bekerja sama dengan salah satu SD di Surabaya. Dalam program pengabdian ini, kami melibatkan mahasiswa sebagai pendukung. Seperti sebelumnya, sebagai kelanjutan program pengabdian ini setiap mahasiswa tersebut dijadwalkan mengusulkan topik/judul yang dapat diajukan untuk kegiatan PKM mahasiswa. Harapan secara umum, program pengabdian ini bermanfaat lebih luas, baik untuk dosen di laboratorium, mitra pengabdian, mahasiswa dan berbagai pihak yang ada. Di akhir program kegiatan ini, peralatan yang diperlukan telah selesai dibuat. Pelatihan terhadap staf dari mitra telah dilakukan, serta peralatan yang diperlukan telah diserahkan. Dengan demikian, diharapkan peralatan yang ada bisa digunakan dengan baik.

Abstract

Saat ini, jumlah pengguna Internet di Indonesia adalah sekitar 200 juta, setara ± 65 % jumlah total penduduk. Jumlah ini mungkin akan terus bertambah dari tahun ke tahun. Konsekuensinya, aktivitas kehidupan sangat bergantung kepada Internet, salah satunya adalah dalam menjalankan proses pendidikan. Mengingat besarnya potensi perkembangan tekonologi Internet of Things (IoT), maka sangat diperlukan pengetahuan tentang teknologi tersebut serta bagaimana pemanfaatannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. SMPN 53 Surabaya memiliki potensi pengembangan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi IoT, namun membutuhkan pelatihan penggunaannya dalam pendidikan. Untuk itu, Laboratorium Komputasi Berbasis Jaringan di Teknik Informatika ITS berinisiatif untuk memberikan pelatihan tentang teknologi IoT kepada guru-guru di SMPN 53 Surabaya. Materi terkait dengan IoT diberikan secara bertahap dari pengenalan sampai dengan bagaimana penggunaan IoT secara praktis dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil dari pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa para guru mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang bagaimana menggunakaan IoT dalam pendidikan.

Abstract

In this globalization era, the internet has been the main media which everyone used to exchange information, from the public such as sport to top secret such as military data. Hence, the requirement of data hiding method called steganography is rising. Steganography is hiding the secret information into another media so that it could be transferred publicly, but only the authorized users could access it. There were two main problems in the data hiding technique: the capacity of the secret and the quality of the generated stego data. In this proposed method, we combined digital image processing called interpolation, used it to predict the new pixel value to hide the secret bit in purpose to increase the bit data capacity with the consequence the reduction of the stego image quality. The experimental result showed that the capacity has increased from that of the previous research.

Abstract

Nowadays, the needs of data security is proportional to the amount of data usage as the effect from easiness in internet access. There are many ways to protect data in order to avoid data leakage, such as cryptography, watermarking, and data hiding. The latter is conducted by hiding secret data into a carrier. A popular method in data hiding is Least significant digit (LSD). The hiding is carried out by changing the value of binary secret data into decimal in specific segment. Then, the decimal value of secret data is inserted into the carrier. The process in LSD method is relatively simple and easier to implement, but the LSD has weakness in pivoting point as reference of data changes. This results in a change into the original data carrier. Additionally, this also has limited amount of data capacity that can be inserted.On the other hand, Global-Section Search method (GSS) is an optimization method used to find an optimum value between two signals. Newly acquired signal GSS is further used as a pivoting point and slot area to paste the data secret.This study proposes a new method of data hiding by using Least Significant Digit and Global-section search (LSD-GSS) to increase the capacity of secret data insertion. The performance of LSD-GSS as proposed method is tested by comparing the LSD method and using 15 data sets of audio in various genres as carrier media and various large capacity of 12 secret data. SNR is used to find out the quality of hidden data audio. The experimental result shows that the LSD-GSS has increased the capacity of secret data that can be inserted without changing the original data carrier.

Abstract

Authentication concept using password or token has been used widely but still has weaknesses, because password or token can be easily forgotten or shared with other users. The use of biometric data as an authentication tool can be a solution to the problem. It is because biometric data is relatively permanent and unique, thus, the risk of losing or forgetting the password is reduced. Consequently, a protection method to secure the biometric data is needed. A number of studies have been done to secure the biometric data, ranging from classic encryption method to data transformation.In this paper, a method is developed to create a cancelable fingerprint templates by combining pair-polar on the selection and matching with modified fuzzy vault on data transformation. The selection procecss is carried out in two stages. The first stage selects the reference minutiae points and its respective neighbors which close to the reference. A feature vector set is adopted from pair-polar method with an addition of the ridge type of the neighbors for later use in the matching process. The second stage generates a template, which is developed by implementing extended fuzzy vault with combining four regular fuzzy vault sets into one vault. This method gains the most optimum accuracy up to 99% of GAR and 0.03% of FAR. The use of ridge type in the matching process can reduce FAR from 1.03% to 0.03%, and the use of extended fuzzy vault can reduce FAR from 0.28% to 0.03%.

Abstract

The significant changes in the world of education after the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic have increased students' anxiety levels. This anxiety can trigger stress which can interfere with students' academic performance. Therefore, this condition is a critical problem that needs to be addressed immediately. However, researchers have not previously conducted much research to detect post-COVID stress levels. Apart from that, the existence of a system capable of carrying out this detection is still lacking. Therefore, this research focuses on building a system for detecting student stress levels. First, an exploration of the tree algorithm was carried out to find the most optimal method for recognizing student stress levels. Then a detection system is built using this optimal method. The research results show that the tree ID3 (Iterative Dichotomiser 3) algorithm achieves the highest accuracy value of 95% compared to other tree algorithms with the scenario of dividing training data into test data of 80%:20%. Moreover, this telegram bot-based detection system works well in recognizing three categories of stress, namely: light-, moderate-, and heavy stress based on black-box testing techniques.

Abstract

Permintaan akan tenaga kerja terampil di bidang pengembangan perangkat lunak dan website terus meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan industri teknologi informasi. Di tengah situasi ini, banyak sekolah yang berupaya memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut dengan membuka program-program pendidikan khusus dalam pengembangan perangkat lunak dan website . Salah satu contohnya adalah SMK Pawiyatan Surabaya. Sebagai respons terhadap kondisi ini, kami berencana untuk menyelenggarakan program pelatihan kompetensi yang fokus pada deployment aplikasi berbasis website . Strategi pelaksanaan program ini dirancang secara terstruktur, dimulai dari pembelajaran konsep dasar hingga penerapan praktis deployment aplikasi secara langsung. Selain itu, program ini akan dilengkapi dengan evaluasi progres berkala guna memantau dan meningkatkan pemahaman serta keterampilan peserta sepanjang program berlangsung. Output yang diharapkan dari program ini termasuk laporan kegiatan yang komprehensif, dokumentasi video untuk memperlihatkan tahapan pelaksanaan program, serta berita acara yang mencatat semua aspek terkait program pelatihan ini. Dengan mengimplementasikan program pelatihan kompetensi deployment aplikasi berbasis website ini, SMK Pawiyatan Surabaya diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam mempersiapkan generasi muda Indonesia untuk menjadi tenaga kerja yang kompeten dan siap beradaptasi dengan dinamika industri teknologi informasi global.
