Abstract

Abstract

Studies have suggested associations between inflammatory markers with the severity of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Therefore, exercises that could reduce the level of inflammatory markers might be beneficial. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of upper arms and breathing exercises on inflammatory markers such as ferritin, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and C-reactive protein (CRP) in severe COVID-19 patients. A quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test control group design was conducted among severe COVID-19 aged 18–70 years old, with or without comorbidities. Baseline data of inflammatory markers (ferritin, LDH, and CRP) were measured before the exercises and repeated post-exercise. The upper arm and breathing exercises were performed for ten days, twice a day (morning and evening) for ten minutes. A paired Student t-test was used to assess the changes in the inflammatory markers’ levels. Our data indicated that levels of ferritin and CRP were not significantly different between pre- and post-exercise. However, the level of LDH decreased significantly from 481.35 U/L to 331.80 U/L (p=0.001). This study highlights that pulmonary rehabilitation exercises might be beneficial to enhance the recovery process in severe COVID-19 patients.

Abstract

The community service program titled "PKM: Physiotherapy Counseling and Training on ACL Injuries at Sport Center RS Awal Bros Pekanbaru" aimed to provide education and training for 20 athletes with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. This program included sessions on injury prevention strategies, strengthening exercises, and post-injury rehabilitation techniques to enhance recovery and performance. Each participant received hands-on training from experienced physiotherapists, focusing on safe practices to prevent future injuries and improve mobility. The program's outcomes showed improvements in participants' understanding and ability to perform recommended exercises independently, reflecting the effectiveness of physiotherapy-based interventions in managing ACL injuries.

Abstract

Abstract

PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk (PTKS) is a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in the production of steel and related services. The MRO Procurement Department is a procurement function to process MRO Material purchasing at PTKS. The main problem currently faced is the lead time for the MRO material procurement process which takes a long time, the reason is that procurement is often conducted by spot method and repeatedly for the same material. Too long lead times pose a risk to the smooth production process due to the unavailability of MRO materials when needed. Referring to the MRO Procurement Department's KPI, >85% of the number of POs (Purchase Orders) issued must have a lead time of <41 days, however, based on the actual historical data for 2022, the PO lead time achievement for the MRO material procurement process does not meet the target. Department's KPI, >85% of the number of PO’s (Purchase Orders) issued must have a lead time of <41 days, however, based on the actual historical data for 2022, the PO lead time achievement for the MRO material procurement process does not reach the target. An alternative solution used to speed up procurement lead times is implementing a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) and/or Consignment Contract for MRO routine/consumable material types. The results obtained are that the long and complicated MRO material procurement process for the same type of material can be eliminated, which means that with the improvements made, the MRO Procurement Department can implement a more efficient procurement process.
