Abstract

Communication at the workplace requires meaningful understanding because it affects the work relationship as well as the work atmosphere. Hence, expressions used to generate such conditions are supposed to embody a conducive environment. This research aimed to determine the types of indirect speech acts and their language functions. This study used a qualitative research with a descriptive design to depict the phenomenon. The subjects were three employees at PT. Bosowa Berlian Motor Makassar, who were chosen purposively considering their availability and their readiness during the data collection. The data were collected by using observation with audio recordings and the researchers themselves as the non-participant observers. The results of this study showed that there were five types of indirect speech acts and there were certain language functions practiced by the employees, they are: emphasizing and instructing (assertive type), telling a condition and commanding what to do (directive type), directing and checking for the appropriate work (commissive type), complaining and giving subtle offense (expressive type), and responding, telling information and encouraging (declarative type). All types and their functions revealed and occurred to meet the need of creating a conducive environment in the workplace. The five types represent the traits of being assertive, directive, trusted, expressive, and declarative along with their use of language functions. These traits bear positive and good atmosphere in the workplace. Thus, with the conducive working environment, the employees can undertake their tasks well and focus on reaching the target in the workplace.

Abstract

Di era digital, media sosial menjadi platform yang semakin penting untuk penyebaran dakwah. Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi dakwah yang efektif di media sosial untuk menjawab tantangan dakwah digital, seperti perubahan preferensi audiens, persaingan konten, dan keterbatasan teknis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dari berbagai sumber, termasuk buku dan jurnal terakreditasi, untuk mengidentifikasi pendekatan terbaik dalam mencapai audiens yang lebih luas serta meningkatkan interaksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konten kreatif, konsistensi pesan, relevansi terhadap audiens, pemanfaatan data analitik, dan kolaborasi dengan influencer merupakan strategi kunci untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dakwah di media sosial. Dengan menerapkan strategi-strategi ini, dakwah di media sosial dapat disampaikan secara lebih menarik, tepat sasaran, dan mampu menjangkau audiens dari berbagai latar belakang. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan panduan bagi para dai dan pengelola dakwah untuk mengoptimalkan pesan dakwah di ruang digital.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penerapan metode pembelajaran berbasis audio terhadap minat dan pemahaman anak-anak di Dusun Benteng dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris. Metode ini dipilih karena dinilai mampu memberikan pengalaman belajar yang interaktif dan menyenangkan, terutama di wilayah dengan keterbatasan sumber daya pendidikan. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan tes sederhana terhadap anak-anak yang menjadi peserta dalam program ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode audio-based learning secara signifikan meningkatkan minat belajar anak-anak, dengan peningkatan partisipasi dari 30% menjadi 75% setelah penerapan metode ini. Selain itu, pemahaman kosa kata anak-anak meningkat dari rata-rata 10 kata menjadi 25 kata setelah menggunakan media audio seperti lagu dan cerita. Anak-anak juga menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan mendengar dan meniru pengucapan kata serta kalimat sederhana dalam bahasa Inggris. Kata Kunci: Anak-anak , Metode Pembelajaran, Audio-Based Learning Abstract This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing audio-based learning methods on the interest and understanding of children in Benteng Hamlet in learning English. This method was chosen for its potential to provide an interactive and enjoyable learning experience, especially in areas with limited educational resources. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and simple tests conducted on children participating in the program. The results showed that audio-based learning significantly increased children’s interest in learning, with participation rising from 30% to 75% after the implementation of the method. Furthermore, the children’s vocabulary comprehension improved from an average of 10 words to 25 words after using audio media such as songs and stories. The children also demonstrated improved listening skills and the ability to mimic the pronunciation of words and simple sentences in English.
