Abstract

Teaching English vocabulary to children in the classroom should begin as early as possible because childhood is a golden age when everything may be absorbed simply and rapidly. Language holds the belief that the earlier children learn a foreign language, the easier it is for them to master it, and that children may learn a language more quickly and with less difficulty than adults. This research aims to develop a learning design instructional material model of basic English Vocabulary based on interactive multimedia for elementary students and to increase knowledge and skills of language, especially for elementary school students. Development of learning model and instructional material design followed a research design and development model designed. This research is an extensive process in designing the students' needs and develop the product or course material of basic English vocabulary to increase the ability or skills of elementary students in learning language through interactive multimedia. The sample of this research is the students at one of the elementary schools in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The research showed a learning model based on the interactive multimedia syllabus and instructional material design of basic English Vocabulary. The researchers suggested that formative assessment be undertaken each time the materials are delivered to determine which components should be modified to increase the materials' instructional and motivating value. Furthermore, summative evaluation should be carried out in order to make a policy decision on whether or not to use instructional materials based on real evidence of their success.

Abstract

Mitra Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah Guru-Guru SMA 8 Negeri Gowa. Sebagai Guru yang mengajar para generasi milenial yang notabene adalah generasi yang sudah banyak terpapar oleh teknologi informasi, dituntut untuk bisa menggunakan teknologi informasi sebagai media pembelajarannya dan juga perlu memikirkan model pembelajaran yang efektif dan inovatif. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dianggap cocok dengan gaya millennial saat ini adalah flipped learning. Flipped learning adalah model pembelajaran yang membalik metode tradisional, dimana biasanya materi diberikan dikelas dan siswa mengerjakan tugas dirumah maka pada flipped learning, materi terlebih dahulu diberikan melalui video pembelajaran atau bahan bacaan lainnya melalui elearning yang harus ditonton atau dibaca oleh siswa dirumah masing–masing. Untuk memperoleh proses pembelajaran yang efektif, guru maupun murid harus memiliki model pembelajaran yang inovatif dan menarik, hal ini juga dialami oleh SMA Negeri 8 Gowa, sudah saatnya beralih dari model pembelajaran tradisional ke model pembelajaran yang modern. Namun demikian, ada gap yang dialami oleh guru SMA Negeri 8 Gowa dimana mereka masih belum banyak memiliki pengetahuan mengenai media yang bisa digunakan sebagai penunjang model flipped learning ini. Aplikasi-aplikasi penunjang flipped learning seperti edpuzzle dan filmora sebagai video audio editor, paddlet sebagai media forum diskusi online, kahoot sebagai media kuis creator sampai edmodo sebagai media e-learning dan SLN- nya belum banyak diketahui oleh guru-guru SMA Negeri 8 Gowa, bahkan beberapa diantaranya sama sekali belum pernah mendengar aplikasi ini. Adanya gap inilah yang melatar belakangi untuk memberikan pelatihan dan workshop Flipped Learning

Abstract

The research aimed to develop a decision supporting system for a company as the helping aid of a decision-making to give the car credit agreement to the customers in order that they could obtain the result of their credit applications quickly. The system was designed using the decision supporting method of Fuzzy Logic with the criteria of identity, guarantee, income and occupation. System building software used the program of Borland Delphi 10 with the database MySQL. The system examination was conducted by the black box method. The results of the research reveals that the decision supporting system designed can produce information quickly so that it can be used as the decision-making in the car credit agreement.

Abstract

Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra Universitas Negeri Makassar (FBS UNM) selama ini masih menggunakan media analog dalam menyampaikan informasi kepada mahasiswa dan civitas akademika lainnya. Papan informasi kehadiran pimpinan Fakultas disajikan menggunakan engraved pada kayu dengan metoda penggantian status kehadiran yang dioperasikan secara manual, dengan papan geser. Demikian juga dengan informasi pengumuman dan event masih menggunakan kertas yang ditempel pada papan informasi yang disediakan. Berdasarkan hal ini, peneliti menganggap bahwa digital signage sudah sangat diperlukan mengingat Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra adalah salah satu fakultas dengan jumlah mahasiswa terbesar di Universitas Negeri Makassar. XIBO adalah sebuah Free Content Management System yang sangat powerfull untuk membangun media online digital signage kami anggap bisa digunakan untuk mendesain dan mengimplementasikan digital signage berdasarkan kontent yang dibutuhkan di FBS UNM ini. Setelah kami mendesain, mengimplementasikan dan melakukan survey kepada para pengguna yaitu civitas akademika FBS UNM, kami mendapati bahwa digital signage berbasis XIBO ini menarik, memudahkan, efekti, efisien dan layak untuk digunakan. Abstract

The aim of this research was to discover the perception of administrative employees at the Ministry of Religion in Gowa regarding the use of the Microsoft Excel application, as well as the types of work that use Microsoft Excel and how the data or work is processed using Microsoft Excel at the Ministry of Religion in Gowa. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method with data collection through interviews and data analysis carried out through data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion/verification steps. The results show that the majority of administrative employees of the Ministry of Religion in Gowa have a positive perception of the use of the Microsoft Excel application. The Ministry of Religion affairs employees acknowledges that the Microsoft Excel application helps in completing administrative tasks, especially in employee data management. Work that is commonly done with Excel includes grouping data, making calculations, processing documents, and making attendance lists, and policies. In the Diniyah Education and Islamic Boarding Schools (PD Pontren) field, Excel is used to process letters and received documents, check and classify data, and type Excel formulas. The processed data is sent through the WA application (WhatsApp), the Kemenag website, or the institution's email due to changes in flow caused by the pandemic. Based on these results, the Microsoft Excel application is very helpful for employees to complete their work with better effectiveness and efficiency. However, there are still difficulties and mistakes in using formulas and functions, especially for those who are less familiar with Excel. Some employees still need further information on how to use this application. Therefore, training or further introduction to the Microsoft Excel application is needed to improve the skills and administrative performance of employees in the Ministry of Religion affairs in Gowa. It is suggested that the Ministry of Religion affairs in Gowa provide facilities to improve computerization, especially in the use of Microsoft Excel, and hold training programs to help employees improve their skills in using the software.Keywords— Microsoft Excel, Administration, Data Processing, Perception

Abstract

This study aims to describe the training of research proposal writing using mind-mapping method. The training method used was counseling. This outreach activity is divided into three, namely mapping the introduction or preparation of Chapter 1, mapping the theoretical reviews or preparation of Chapter 2, and mapping the research methodology or preparation of Chapter 3. The PKM participants are students of Bahasa Inggris Program Sarjana Terapan Study Program, Universitas Negeri Makassar who were selected randomly purposive. The results of the training showed that PKM participants were able to produce background writing that was easy to understand and practical in Chapter 1, produce structured literature descriptions in Chapter 2, and produce procedural mapping of research method writing in Chapter 3. Mind mapping activities help PKM participants to be able to formulate operational definitions of research variables, identify theories or concepts in literature studies, find trusted and credible sources of information, and determine research methods.

Abstract

Abstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi dan motivasi mahasiswa Program Studi Bahasa Inggris Program Sarjana Terapan mengenai penggunaan video YouTube dalam meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa tentang pemanfaatan  video YouTube untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa inggris dan untuk mengetahui apakah video YouTube dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa inggris. Studi ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan mengambil sampel dengan instrumen penelitian kuesioner. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Business English Communication dari angkatan 2020 sampai 2023. Pengumpulan data menggunakan menggunakan kuisioner. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis secara kualitatif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa menggunakan video YouTube untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa inggris sangat efektif. Dan hasil kuesioner yang terdiri dari 12 item menunjukkan hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian berdasarkan perhitungan nilai rata-rata persepsi mahasiswa yaitu 42.83%  dalam kategori Sangat Setuju dan 49.93% dalam kategori Setuju. Berdasarkan hasil ini, video YouTube dapat menjadi media yang produktif dan efektif dan bermanfaat digunakan sebagai media belajar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa inggris  Kata Kunci: Persepsi, Video YouTube, Keterampilan Bahasa Inggris

Abstract

Abstrak: Pelatihan dalam rangka kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan bekal ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi tentang bagaimana membuat e-learning dan mengembangkan konten e-learning. Perangkat lunak yang digunakan sebagai media pembuatan adalah perangkat lunak LMS (Learning Management System) MOODLE yang berbasis open source. Sedangkan peserta pelatihan merupakan guru dan siswa SMK Persada dan Bajiminasa. Pemberian materi dimulai dari pengenalan internet, website dan proses instalasi server sekaligus instalasi perangkat lunak MOODLE. Materi diakhiri dengan memberikan tugas mandiri bagi masing-masing peserta untuk membuat dan mengembangkan sendiri e-learning disesuaikan dengan bidang ajar peserta. Dari peserta dengan jumlah 30 guru dan siswa, semuanya dapat mengikuti pelatihan dari awal sampai akhir. Selain itu, kesemua guru dapat menyelesaikan tugas mandiri dengan baik, yaitu mampu membuat dan mengembangkan e-learning beserta kontennya. Abstract: Training in the context of Community Service activities aims to provide knowledge and technology about how to make e-learning and develop e-learning content. The software that is used as a medium of manufacture is MOODLE based LMS (Learning Management System) software. While the training participants are teachers and students of Persada and Bajiminasa Vocational Schools. The material starts with the introduction of the internet, website, and server installation process as well as the installation of MOODLE software. The material was ended by giving independent assignments for each participant to create and develop their own e-learning tailored to the participants' teaching fields. Of the participants with 30 teachers and students, all of them can attend training from beginning to end. In addition, all teachers can complete their independent tasks well, namely being able to make and develop e-learning and its content.

Abstract

TikTok is a social media platform that is popular around the world. The TikTok app allows users to create, share, and watch short videos that last 15 to 60 seconds. TikTok introduced a new feature, TikTok shop, which is an e-commerce feature that allows TikTok users to sell and buy products directly in the TikTok application. Research data analysis uses descriptive qualitative and is collected through questionnaires and interviews. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Language and Literature, Business English Communication study program. In this study, the object of research was Business English Communication study program students totaling 5 people. The results of this study indicate that the perception of the influence and effectiveness of TikTok social media for students is easy to access, implicit purchases made, inspiration and product information special offers and discounts, can save time. The obstacles faced by students when shopping online at TikTok are slow delivery of products and fraudulent purchases but do not reduce the desire of students to shop online through TikTok because of the many benefits that can be obtained.

Abstract

Abstrak. This training aims to equip and train practical, active and interactive English language skills through English meetings for students at UPT SPF SMPN 40 Makassar, especially those who have an interest and desire to improve their English language skills. The activities carried out in this training were English Meeting and English Fun Day. The methods used are socialization, discussion, consultation, briefing, and group games. This training lasted for approximately four months. The results of this training show that students feel more interested in learning English which is packaged in English meetings with active, interactive, educational, and fun activities, and the material is appropriate to their daily lives. Through these two activities, students can explore and hone their English language skills, especially listening and speaking skills, and can add a lot of knowledge related to the material discussed Abstract. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk membekali dan melatih kemampuan berbahasa Inggris secara praktis, aktif dan interaktif melalui pertemuan bahasa Inggris bagi siswa di UPT SPF SMPN 40 Makassar, khususnya yang mempunyai minat dan keinginan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggrisnya. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah English Meeting dan English Fun Day. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi, diskusi, konsultasi, pembekalan, dan permainan kelompok. Pelatihan ini berlangsung selama kurang lebih empat bulan. Hasil dari pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa merasa lebih tertarik untuk belajar bahasa Inggris yang dikemas dalam pertemuan bahasa Inggris dengan kegiatan yang aktif, interaktif, mendidik, menyenangkan, dan materinya sesuai dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Melalui kedua kegiatan tersebut, siswa dapat mengeksplorasi dan mengasah kemampuan berbahasa Inggris khususnya kemampuan mendengar dan berbicara, serta dapat menambah banyak pengetahuan terkait materi yang dibahas.
