Abstract

Anemia is associated with mortality and morbidity in adolescents. The prevalence of anemia increases with increasing age. World Health Organization (WHO) data in the Worldwide Prevalence of Anemia shows that there are 1.62 billion people with anemia in the world with the highest prevalence in pre-school age 47.4% and Women of Reproductive Age (WUS) 41.8%. With sufficient knowledge of nutrition, young women will understand the impact of the wrong nutritional behavior that has been applied so far so that efforts to prevent anemia grow if it is marked by changes in knowledge as well as attitudes. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of adolescents in preventing anemia. The purpose of counseling for adolescents is so that participants can understand what anemia is, the causes of anemia, prevention of anemia, and examples of food sources of iron. This activity was attended by 50 students grade 1 and 2 and 5 teachers of MTs Nurul Qur’an This activity took place in the MTs Nurul Qur'an Pagutan Hall. The participants were very enthusiastic and active in participating in counseling activities and playing ladders game until the end of the activity. Education using ladders media can affect the level of knowledge of adolescents about balanced nutrition and anemia in adolescents. Teenagers can understand and play an active role in participating in community service activities.

Abstract

Gemel Village is one of the areas in Central Lombok. Most of the women in Gemel Village are housewives. There is no extra income for them. So the team of Bumigora university lecturers wanted to help improve the economy in Gemel village. The training and assistance in making Putu Ayu Cake was carried out for the underprivileged community in Bunprie, Gemel Village. The Cake Making Training was held on June 19, 2021. The participants who took part in the training were 30 people from underprivileged women in Bunprie. The training took place at the house of the Head of Bunprie. community service activities for lecturers and students at Bumigora University went well and received good appreciation and attention from the target community. Then it is hoped that the socialization and training can lead to changes in behavior so that the resulting product can help the economy of the target community.

Abstract

Stunting is an indicator of health in toddlers, namely chronic nutritional status which results in stunted growth and development. Low birth weight and lack of exclusive breastfeeding are factors that can cause stunting in toddlers. The aim of this research is to analyze differences in exclusive breastfeeding and birth weight among stunted toddlers in the Tanak Beak Village area, West Nusa Tenggara. The research design was cross sectional with a research sample of 60 stunted toddlers aged 6-59 months who were collected using a purposive sampling method. Nutritional status data was collected by measuring using a baby length board and stadiometer with the criteria of a Z-score TB/U or PB/U of less than -2 SD. Data on characteristics and exclusive breastfeeding were obtained through interviews and birth weight was obtained from secondary data from the Community Health Center. Data were analyzed using T-test. The results of the study showed that there was no significant difference in low birth weight (p=0.882) in stunted toddlers, while there was a difference in exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.041) in stunted toddlers in the posyandu1 and posyandu2 areas. The conclusion is that there is no difference in low birth weight in stunted toddlers, while there is a difference in exclusive breastfeeding in stunted toddlers in the posyandu1 and posyandu2 areas. There is a need to increase coverage and efforts to improve the quality of exclusive breastfeeding to optimize efforts to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Stunting menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang serius dan prevalensinya tetap tinggi khususnya di negara berkembang. Stunting disebabkan kekurangan asupan gizi dalam waktu lama pada masa 1000 hari pertama kehidupan (HPK) yang merupakan masa kritis. Sekitar 37% (9 Juta) anak Indonesia mengalami stunting, hal ini terjadi di seluruh wilayah dan lintas kelompok pendapatan. K. Masalah stunting merupakan masalah besar bagi Indonesia, karena pertumbuhan yang terganggu pada anak stunting bukan hanya pertumbuhan fisiknya saja tapi juga pertumbuhan otaknya. Stunting juga dikaitkan dengan praktik pemberian makan orang tua, di mana orang tua-ke-anak makan menentukan perilaku makan anak dan penambahan berat badan. Tujuan: Makalah ini menyajikan ikhtisar untuk memberi pembaca pembaruan literatur tentang hubungan antara pengaruh orang tua (pengasuhan umum dan praktik pengasuhan makanan) dan hasil terkait status gizi anak. Metode: Tinjauan penelitian sistematis mengikuti pedoman PRISMA dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi, mendiskusikan, dan mengintegrasikan penelitian terbaru yang menyelidiki hubungan antara gaya pengasuhan dan stunting. Ini pertama merangkum bukti mengenai peran praktik pengasuhan makanan dalam membentuk dan mempertahankan status gizi dan berat badan anak-anak. Kemudian menjelaskan bukti empiris tentang hubungan antara pola asuh umum dan stunting pada anak. Hasil: Enam database elektronik dicari menggunakan bahasa standar untuk mengidentifikasi studi kuantitatif yang menggambarkan hubungan gaya pengasuhan umum dengan obesitas anak usia 3-5 tahun. Artikel jurnal peer-review yang memenuhi syarat yang diterbitkan antara 2020 dan 2022 disertakan. Sebelas studi memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Beberapa penelitian berfokus pada pemberian makan secara umum. Sebagian besar penelitian berfokus pada pengendalian praktik pengasuhan makanan dan gaya pengasuhan umum. Kesimpulan: Pola asuh yang dapat diterapkan kepada anak usia dibawah 24 bulan sebagai pencegahan stunting adalah pola asuh campuran/mixed parenting style, karena tidak ditemukan pola asuh spesifik yang baik dalam seluruh aspek pertumbuhan dan perkembangan baduta. Namun pola asuh mixed parenting semisal parenting demokratif dengan authoritative menjadi pilihan yang bijak dalam seluruh aspek pertumbuhan dan perkembangan balita dalam hal pencegahan stunting.

Abstract

Adolescent anemia is characterized by iron deficiency associated with menstruation and unbalanced nutrient intake. Red dragon fruit and moringa leaf flour are rich in iron, flavonoids, and phenolic compounds, which possess antioxidant properties and may help prevent anemia. Both ingredients can be developed into snack products such as ice cream, which is popular among adolescents. The objective of this study was to analyze the total flavonoid and total phenolic contents in red dragon fruit ice cream with the addition of moringa leaf flour. This research employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five formulations and two replications. The ice cream was prepared at the Laboratory of Aisyah University, Pringsewu, in January 2025. Chemical analyses were performed using ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometry at the Laboratory of the State Polytechnic of Lampung. Data were analyzed using One-Way ANOVA followed by Duncan’s multiple range test. The results showed significant differences (p < 0.05) among the formulations. The highest total flavonoid content was observed in formulation F4 (10%) with 0.53 mg quercetin equivalent per gram (p = 0.001). The highest total phenolic content was found in formulation F0 (0%) with 5.48 mg gallic acid equivalent per gram (p = 0.002). In conclusion, the addition of up to 10% moringa leaf flour in red dragon fruit ice cream increased the total flavonoid content but decreased the total phenolic content. Therefore, this product has potential as a functional food rich in antioxidant compounds that may benefit adolescent girls.

Abstract

Kelor merupakan tanaman yang memiliki banyak manfaat sebagai bahan makanan dan obat – obatan. Kelor berkhasiat sebagai stimulan jantung dan perdaran darah, antitumor, antihipertensi, antihiperlipidemia, antioksidan, anti diabetik antibakteri, dan ant jamur. Komponen proksimat meliputi kadar air, kadar abu, karbohidrat, protein dan lemak. Serat pangan meliputi bagian bahan makanan yang tidak dapat di hidrolisis oleh enzim-enzim pencernaan. Komponen proksimat dan serat pangan merupakan dasar dari pengembangan suatu pangan fungsional. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi dan menentukan kadar komponen proksimat dan serat pangan yang terdapat pada tepung daun kelor yang berasal dari kabupaten kupang-NTT. Metode pembuatan tepung daun kelor dengan cara daun kelor di blansing kemudian dikeringkan dibawah sinar matahari lalu di blander dan di ayak. Analisis kandungan proksimat di lakukan di Laboratorium SIG, Bogor. Hasil analisis kandungan proksimat diperoleh hasil kadar air 6,96%, kadar abu 10,59%, kadar lemak 7,28%, kadar protein 27,27%, kadar karbohidrat 47,96%. Hasil analisis kandungan serat pangan diperoleh hasil 35,34%.

Abstract

The description of the nutritional status of children under five represents the degree of public health. Indonesia is experiencing multiple nutritional problems, namely the problem of undernutrition has not been completely resolved, the problem of overnutrition (obesity) appears. Nutritional status is influenced by unbalanced energy intake and infectious diseases. This is due to the level of education, knowledge, parenting patterns that are inappropriate and bad environmental sanitation. The biggest problem faced by the community is the low level of knowledge and skills of mothers about nutrition. This study aims to determine the relationship between mother's level of knowledge about nutrition and the nutritional status of children under five in Lembah Sari Village, West Lombok. This type of research is an observational study with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were mothers who have toddlers (aged 6-60 months) and their babies, totaling 55 people. Sampling technique with cluster random sampling. The results obtained based on the chi square test showed that there was a significant relationship between the mother's level of knowledge about nutrition and the nutritional status of children under five in Lembah Sari Village, West Lombok Regency with a p-value of 0.015. The results of the analysis of the relationship between the level of knowledge related to nutrition and the nutritional status of children under five, that was found that 7 respondents with less knowledge had poor nutritional status (46.67%). Two respondents with good knowledge had poor nutritional status (5%), while 8 respondents with poor knowledge had good nutritional status (53.33%) and 38 respondents with good knowledge had good nutritional status (95%). Conclusion: there is a relationship between the mother's level of knowledge about nutrition and the nutritional status of children under five in Lembah Sari Village, West Lombok Regency. Suggestion: it is necessary to add other variables that can affect the level of knowledge of mothers and caregivers regarding the nutritional status of children under five years.

Abstract

Abstrak HUBUNGAN STATUS GIZI DENGAN PERKEMBANGAN ANAK USIA 1-5 TAHUN DI KELURAHAN CAKRANEGARA SELATAN Aloysius Adhi Pratama Latar belakang: Pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak merupakan suatu periode yang menentukan kualitas anak di masa depan. Kualitas gizi yang baik merupakan faktor kunci dalam memastikan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan yang optimal pada masa anak-anak. Status gizi yang memadai memberikan dasar yang kuat bagi perkembangan fisik, kognitif, dan emosional anak. Sebaliknya, kekurangan gizi atau malnutrisi dapat memiliki dampak negatif yang serius terhadap perkembangan anak. Metodologi: Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian analitik dengan tipe korelasional dengan desain cross sectional yang merupakan penelitian berorientasi pada waktu serta observasi pada kedua variabel. Sampel sebanyak 90 orang diperoleh dengan teknik simple random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji analisa chi-aquare. Hasil Penelitian: Responden yang memiliki status gizi kurang sebanyak 13 anak (14,4%), status gizi normal sebanyak 74 anak (82,2%), status gizi lebih sebanyak 3 anak (3,3%) dan yang memiliki perkembangan penyimpangan sebanyak 5 anak (5,6%), perkembangan meragukan sebanyak 17 anak (18,9), perkembangan sesuai sebanyak 68 anak (75,6%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan p value < 0,05 sebesar 0,000 sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa ada hubungan yang bermakna antara status gizi (BB/U) dengan perkembangan anak usia 1-5 tahun di Kelurahan Cakranegara. Kesimpulan: Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa status gizi memiliki hubungan dengan perkembangan anak. Aloysius Adhi Pratama Background: Growth and development in children represent a critical period that determines their future quality of life. Adequate nutritional quality is a key factor in ensuring optimal growth and development during childhood. Proper nutritional status provides a strong foundation for the physical, cognitive, and emotional development of children. Conversely, nutritional deficiencies or malnutrition can have serious negative impacts on child development. Methods: This research design employs an analytical research design with a correlational type and a cross-sectional design, which focuses on time-oriented and observational study of two variables. The sample consists of 90 individuals obtained using a simple random sampling technique. The study utilizes the chi-square analysis test. Results: Respondents who had malnutrition status were 13 children (14.4%), those with normal nutritional status were 74 children (82.2%), those with overnutrition were 3 children (3.3%), those with developmental deviations were 5 children (5.6%), those with questionable development were 17 children (18.9%), and those with appropriate development were 68 children (75.6%). The research results showed a p-value < 0.05 of 0.000, indicating a significant relationship between nutritional status (weight/age) and the development of children aged 1-5 years in Cakranegara Village. Conclusion: From the research results, it can be concluded that nutritional status is associated with child development. Keywords : Toddlers; Nutritional Status; Child Development.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The relationship between family support and exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0-6 months in the working area of the Karang Taliwang Health Center Ria Risti Dewi Background : Breast milk is the first food for newborns, variousscientific points of view can be proven that breast milk is the best and most ideal baby food. Although there are many known benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, there are still many mothers who do not breastfeed exclusively, many factors that influence breastfeeding are not Exclusively, one of which is support from the family, which is to provide information, advice and attention that makes mothers feel comfortable and calm in the process of breastfeeding. Objective : The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0-6 months in the working area of the Karang Taliwang Mataram Health Center. Method : The method in this study is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study was 63 respondents, the sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. Data analysis using chi square test. Results : The results of this study showed no meaningful relationship of emotional support (p = 0.632), no relationship of instrumental support (p = 0.727), there was an association of assessment support (p = 0.008), there was an association Information support (p = 0.030) with exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0-6 months in the working area of the Karang Taliwang Mataram Health Center. Conclusion : The conclusion in this study is that there is no significant relationship between emotional support and instrumental support and exclusive breastfeeding, while in assessment support And information there is a significant relationship with exclusive breastfeeding in infants aged 0-6 bulam. Abstract

Abstract: Stunting masih menjadi masalah gizi utama di Indonesia, termasuk di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat yang prevalensinya mencapai 32,7% pada tahun 2022. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mencegah stunting adalah melalui program Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT) berbasis pangan lokal. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader posyandu mengenai PMT dan memberikan intervensi gizi kepada balita gizi kurang di Desa Kekait, Lombok Barat. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan pembuatan nugget berbasis pangan lokal (ikan tongkol, tepung ubi jalar, tepung jagung, tepung kedelai, dan daun kelor), pendampingan kader dalam penggunaan antropometri, serta evaluasi pengetahuan melalui pretest dan posttest. Intervensi PMT dilakukan pada 15 balita selama 28 hari dengan pemantauan berat badan, tinggi badan, dan asupan gizi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan kader tentang PMT, meskipun kenaikan berat badan balita rata-rata hanya sebesar 0,3 kg. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini mampu meningkatkan kapasitas kader dan memberikan kontribusi positif dalam upaya pencegahan stunting melalui pemanfaatan pangan lokal.
