Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the effect of cocoa fruit skin compost (CFSC) on Ultisol medium the growth of cocoa seed. This research was conducted in experiment garden of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, at Bina Widya Campus, Subrantas Street km 12.5, Simpang Baru, Tampan, Pekanbaru. This research taken time as 3 months starting from june 2016 until October 2016. This experiment was conducted used Randomized Complete Design (RCD) non factorial is cocoa fruit skin compost (CFSC) consist of 6 level (0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 g cfsc/plant) with 3 replications. Observation parameters consist of seed height, number of leaves, stem diameter, canopy dry weight, dry weight of root and root canopy ratio. The result of this research show that the applications 200 g cfsc/plant increased seed height, number of leaves, stem diameter, canopy dry weight, dry weight of root and root canopy ratio compared with without applications. Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of water level and organic mulch on CO2 emissions of oil palm in peatland. Research was conducted at the oil palm plantation of ​​PT. Teguh Karsa Wana Lestari (TKWL) in Buantan Besar village, Bungaraya, Siak District, from October 2014 to February 2015. This research used Split Plot Design, consist of 2 factors. The first factor is the groundwater surface depth as main plot, were: water level depth 50 cm, 70 cm dan 90 cm. The second factor is application organic mulch as sub plot, were: without giving organic mulch, giving palm oil empty fruit bunch (POEFB), palm frond and Mucuna bracteata. Therefore obtained 12 combinations of treatments and 3 replications, so obtained 36 units experiment. Parameters observed were the CO2 emmisions, soil temperature and soil water content. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The data obtained were further tested by Least Significant Diference (LSD) at 5 % level. Based on the result it can be concluded that is not significantly effect on CO2 emissions. The water level and organic mulch affected on soil temperature and soil water content. The results of linear correlation analysis showed the depth of groundwater surface factors, organic mulch and soil temperature affected CO2 emissions rate. Soil water content was not significantly affect on CO2 emissions rate, it shows by the low of correlation coefficient (r).   Keywords : CO2 emissions, water level, organic mulch

Abstract

Sweet corn is one of the plants that have a big role in providing the nutritional needs of the community. One effort that can be done to increase the growth and production of sweet corn is fertilization. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of Sludge palm oil mill combination with N, P and K fertilizer on the growth and production of sweet corn and get best treatment from Sludge combination of oil palm factory with N, P and K fertilizer to increase plant growth and production sweet corn. This experiment was conducted experimentally using Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 12 treatments and 3 replications to obtain 36 experimental units. The treatment is a combination of solid waste (Sludge) of oil palm factory with N, P and K (Urea, TSP and KCl) fertilizers. Observation parameters consisted of plant height, stem diameter, female flowering time, harvest age, weight of cobweb and no weight, length of cob, diameter of ear, and production / m2. The result of this research showed that the combination of sludge treatment with N, P and K fertilizer had significant effect on all observation parameters. The best combination of sludge was found in a combination of 15 tons / ha sludge and N, P and K fertilizer (150 kg Urea, 100 kg TSP and 75 kg KCl) / ha. Abstract

The research aims to determine effect of composting of cocoa fruit peel with some NPK dose and get the best treatment on the growth seedling of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in the main nursery. This research was conducted in the experimental fields of Agriculture faculty, Riau University, Bina Widya Street Km 12,5 Simpang Baru, Tampan Pekanbaru. Research was held 4 months, starting from February 2015 until May 2015. Research using experiment design with Completely Randomize Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments every treatment was repeated 4 times, and retrieved 20 units of experiment, each unit consisting of 2 seed. The total were 40 seed and observed doing to all seed, the treatment is combination cocoa fruit peel compost with some NPK dose. Parameters observed were the increase of seeds height, increase of leaves, increase of hump convolution, volume of root, root shoot ratio and dry weight. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and followed by DNMRT at level of 5%. The results showed that composting of cocoa fruit peel with some NPK dose significant effect on increase of seeds height, increase of hump convolution, volume of root, root shoot ratio and dry weight but not significant on increase of leaves. Composting of cocoa fruit peel 150 g/polybag + 1 NPK dose give the best growth oil palm seed.   Keywords : Palm oil, cocoa fruit peel compost and NPK.

Abstract

The research aims to know the interaction and get the best dose of compost mixture of oil palm empty fruit bunches with boiler ash and phosphorus fertilizer to the growth and yield of mung bean. This research conducted in UPT area of research farm in Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from August 2015 until October 2015. This research used a randomized completely design with two factors and three replications. The first factor is the dose of compost mixture of oil palm empty fruit bunches with boiler ash consist of 3 levels (A1= 0 ton/ha, A2= 5 + 1 ton/ha and A3= 10 +0,5 ton/ha). The second factor is the dose of phosphorus fertilizer that consist of 3 levels (B1= 0 kg P2O5/ha, B2= 46 kg P2O5/ha and B3= 92 kg P2O5/ha). Parameters measured were plant height, number of branch, flowering time, number of nodules, plant dry weight, pods number per plant, the percentage of pithy pods per plant, yield per plant and weight of 100 seeds. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and followed with DNMRT at level of 5%. The result showed the interaction between giving compost mixture of oil palm empty fruit bunches with boiler ash and the phosphorus fertilizer increasedplant dry weight, production per clumps sample and weight of 100 seeds.compost mixture of oil palm empty fruit bunches with boiler ash dose 10+ 0,5 ton/ha and phosphorus fertilizer dose 46 and 92 kg P2O5/ha showed the best result in rate of plant height, number of branch, number of nodules, plant dry weight, pods number per plant, weight of 100 seeds and yield per plant, which is the best yield per plant is 11,96 g             (1,99 ton/ha). Keywords: mung been, oil palm empty fruit bunches, boiler ash, phosphorus fertilizer
