Abstract

This study investigates consumer insights on halal certification in Malaysia by examining awareness, perception, visibility, trust, and purchase behaviour, with religious belief as a moderator. Using a non-probability purposive sampling method, 801 valid responses were collected and analysed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that perception and awareness significantly influence trust, while visibility has no significant effect. Trust and religious belief strongly predict purchase behaviour, and religious belief also moderates the relationship between trust and purchase. It should be noted, however, that the sample disproportionately represents Indigenous Sabah respondents, while Malay respondents—the national majority—are underrepresented. Therefore, the findings are context-specific and not generalisable to the entire Malaysian population. Despite this limitation, the study provides useful insights into consumer trust in halal certification and offers practical recommendations for practitioners, regulators, and policymakers, as well as theoretical contributions for future research. Abstract

IKM genteng Talangsuko is a roof tile producers that was founded in 1980. They can produce 300-350 roof tile in each day. However, the accumulation of material happens frequently due to the limited capacity of drying space. This problem causes the production process to be obstructed, so they need an equipment that can increase the production capacity of the roof tile. Accordingly, the purpose of this research are to determine the design and spesification of the equipment and to determine whether the equipment could increase the production capacity of roof tile. This rearch proposes design of the equipment using the AHOQ method. The result of this research is the specification of the equipment that consist of three components which are rack body, wheels, and the last part is slope arranger for each level of rack. The design of material handling equipment is in the form of multilevel racks with wheels. This equipment may increase the production capacity of roof tile in IKM Genteng Talangsuko especially for the drying process to 2 times from 300-350 to ± 750 roof tiles.

Abstract

One product that has a short life cycle is a fashion products where the consumer desires can influence the company's decision to develop the product. Batik is one of Indonesian local wisdom, which not all of batik in Indonesia has a high popularity, such as Batik Malangan. Kansei Engineering method used in this study to identify the implicit desire of users in the form of feeling, emotion, or perception when interacting with Batik Malangan. By implementing the procedures Kansei Engineering Type I, there are 30 words that appear using 14 stimulants of Batik Malangan. Statistical data analysis performed using multivariate analysis. The most important kansei words chosen by using Factor Analysis and Principal Component Analysis. In this study, a total of 61 respondents who are citizens of Malang and from outside Malang participated. For customers, the main attraction at the Batik Malangan is the motive, whether the primary motive, secondary motive, nor the isen motive. Until now, Batik Malangan’s motive not yet have a characteristic, so it is less well known by customers. Overall, this study contributes to that Kansei Engineering is a method that can be used to capture the feeling of customers mainly on customized products. With so many product variations based on local wisdom should be able to be developed by actually capturing the customer's desire, not only explicit but also implicit.
