Abstract

Dental handyman practices in Indonesia are a popular healthcare alternative, especially for low-income people. However, violations of authority by dental handyman, such as dental installation that hasn't comply the standard, create significant health risks for consumers. This study analyzes the juridical aspects related to these violations based on Law Number 8 Year 1999 on Consumer Protection and Minister of Health Regulation Number 39 Year 2014. This research uses a normative juridical approach with data from legal literature, laws and regulations, and official documents. The results show that the illegal practice of dental handyman is influenced by weak supervision, lack of understanding of regulations, and low consumer awareness. The government needs to strengthen regulations, improve supervision, and provide education to the communities to reduce the risks of the practice. Recommendations include developing training for dental handyman, more strict law enforcement, and consumer awareness socialization.

Abstract

The implementation of the Job Creation Law in Indonesia has changed the regulatory landscape regarding layoffs. This regulation brings flexibility in the labor market, but is often perceived as reducing worker protection. Using a normative juridical approach, this research explores the impact of regulatory changes on workers' rights and the challenges of implementation. Constraints such as weak legal supervision, declining role of labor unions, and uncertainty of legal procedures are highlighted. The research also suggests strategies based on “flexicurity” and social dialogue to balance the interests of companies and the rights of workers in order to create a more equitable and sustainable labor market.

Abstract

This study explores how biohacking technologies, particularly those involving cognitive augmentation and bodily modification, reshape social identity and class structures through a post-humanist sociological perspective. By employing a literature-based approach, the research analyzes how technological interventions alter the construction of the self, redefine social hierarchies, and fragment traditional identity categories. The analysis reveals that biohacking introduces new symbolic economies wherein enhanced bodies become markers of social privilege. Access to enhancement tools remains uneven, further embedding socio-economic disparities. Technologically modified individuals often experience elevated status, while those without access face exclusion from evolving social norms. The concept of identity is transformed into a dynamic construct shaped by technological capability, leading to the emergence of techno-subjectivities. These shifts challenge the integrity of communal experiences and disrupt the formation of collective solidarity. The findings suggest that biohacking, while presented as a personal or liberatory choice, contributes to the reproduction of structural inequality when left unregulated. The study underscores the importance of critical inquiry into how identity and class are continually reconfigured in light of technological advancement, offering a sociological contribution that moves beyond celebration toward deeper reflection.

Abstract

This paper investigates the relationship between digital health literacy and the interpretation and utilization of social media information by pregnant women in selecting childbirth methods. Employing a qualitative literature review and thematic synthesis, the analysis shows varying levels of digital health literacy significantly modulate women’s abilities to discern credible from unreliable information within rapidly evolving digital contexts. The findings reveal that high-quality, evidence-based content fosters informed decision-making aligned with contemporary medical standards, while exposure to low-quality, anecdotal, or biased narratives can lead to misconceptions, anxieties, and suboptimal childbirth choices. Socioeconomic factors and prior health education influence susceptibility to digital misinformation. The study found the necessity for synergistic efforts across healthcare, education, and regulatory domains to elevate digital health literacy and ensure the availability of accurate content for expectant mothers. Integrating digital health literacy into antenatal care, promoting clinician engagement in online forums, and establishing clear content moderation guidelines are pragmatic responses to the identified challenges. Such systemic interventions are critical to empowering maternal autonomy and protecting maternal and neonatal health in an increasingly digitalized world.
