Abstract

Abstract

Illegal racing is a delinquency that often occurs in the community, and is very disturbing in the community, of course efforts are needed to overcome this delinquency, it can be done by the nagari government, because it is the main authorized institution in society. The purpose of the research is that the Nagari Government can make efforts to deal with illegal racing in Nagari Parit Malintang, Six Lingkung District, Padang Pariaman Regency. The theory used in this research is the Structural Functional Theory proposed by Talcott Parsons. The research was conducted in Nagari Parit Malintang, Enam Lingkung District, Padang Pariaman Regency. This research used qualitative research methods with descriptive research type. The withdrawal of informants was carried out by purposive sampling technique. The data collection method in this study began with observation, in-depth interviews, and document studies. Data analysis techniques in research can be carried out in several stages, namely, data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that there have been efforts made by the nagari in overcoming the illegal racing that occurred including: 1) Providing socialization or counseling to the community. 2) Conducting patrols or raids and 3) Guarding the location where the illegal race took place.

Abstract

This research examines classroom management strategies to increase student learning engagement. Classroom management is an essential skill that educators must master to create a conducive and productive learning environment. Through a qualitative literature review method, this research analyzes various relevant literature on the concepts of classroom management, student learning engagement, common problems in classroom management, and effective strategies that can be implemented. The results show that effective classroom management includes building positive relationships with students, using interactive questioning techniques, implementing cooperative learning, establishing clear rules, providing positive feedback, and using various teaching methods. The implementation of these strategies has been proven to increase student learning engagement as indicated by increased participation, motivation, and academic achievement. This research concludes that good classroom management is not only the responsibility of teachers but also requires collaboration from various parties, including schools and parents of students.

Abstract

South Sumatra is a province on the island of Sumatra, positioned along the boundary between the Indo-Australian Plate and the Eurasian Plate. The tectonic interaction between these plates has resulted in a mountain range that extends longitudinally from the island’s northern to southern regions, a geological condition that contributes to the area’s susceptibility to natural hazards, one example is the Dempo Volcano. This study uses the four-step model method to analyse the vulnerability of the road network on evacuation routes during the eruption of Dempo Volcano in Pagar Alam City. Eight road sections were observed. A comparison of traffic survey results and numerical modelling was conducted to assess the consistency of the model and also to predict critical conditions. Scenario 1 represents evacuation conditions without any changes to road geometry, while Scenario 2 represents evacuation conditions with modifications in the form of road widening. The analysis showed that most of the population prefers motorcycles as a mode of transport and the fastest route during evacuation, considering the faster evacuation time. Scenario 1 showed a surge in traffic volume, which became an obstacle to evacuation. Scenario 2 can increase capacity and improve traffic flow. The Vulnerability Index indicates that some road sections are vulnerable to evacuation impacts. Abstract

This study examines the effect of problem-based learning  model in improving 21st-century skills in elementary school students. The PBL model places students in real-life problem situations that are relevant to everyday life, thus encouraging the development of critical thinking skills, problem solving, collaboration, communication, and independent learning. The learning process includes problem orientation, formation of study groups, independent or group investigations, and presentation and reflection of results. The application of this model has been proven to significantly increase students' motivation and active involvement in learning and 21st-century skills. With a student-centered learning approach and authentic problems, this model effectively facilitates the development of high-level thinking skills and essential social skills in the modern era. The implications of the study recommend the use of the problem-based learning model as the main strategy in elementary school learning to prepare students to face the challenges of the 21st century.
