Abstract

In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the General Election Commission (KPU) does not only utilize conventional media, but also new media as part of the communication and socialization strategy in the 2019 General Election, one of the targets was the millennial generation, especially 17-year-olds who were first used their voting rights. This study aims: 1) to analyze the communication and socialization strategies of the General Election Commission in increasing millennial voter participation in Bekasi City, 2) Evaluating the level of millennial voter participation, and 3) Analyzing several factors that cause an increase in millennial voter participation. This study applied a qualitative method with a case study research design. Data obtained through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study were the Commissioner of the General Election Commission of Bekasi City, Political Party Officer, and Millennial Voters. The selection of informants in this study was determined based on purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. Data analysis techniques used include: 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) data presentation, and 4) draw conclusions or verification. The research location was conducted at the General Election Commission of Bekasi City. The research findings show that the strategy carried out by the General Election Commission in increasing the participation of Millennial Voters in Bekasi City uses dialogical methods and communicating directly with voters, this has an impact on increasing Millennial Voter Participation in the 2019 General Election, besides that, several other supporting factors are political awareness. Society, especially Millennial Voters, is getting better and political education is also more effective.

Abstract

This research discusses how Kompas Daily’s reported on the case of Angelina Sondakh’s corruption. This study is aqualitative research with critical framing analysis, adoption of the Radical Feminism theory by Kate Millet. The primary data techniques collected by Kompas news text and the secondary data techniques collected by in-depth interviews. The result of the study found the fact that views of Kompas news on Angelina Sondakh’s corruption case is not solid and comprehensive. It puts Angie just as the actor of corruption, not as the victim of the patriarchal culture that took place in the political parties, the content of the gender bias as many as accentuate the feminine side of a woman

Abstract

Strengthening capacity of agricultural extension workers is the significant strategy in attempt to overcome climate change impact therefore, Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) developed an adaptation and mitigation program of climate change by doing Training of Trainers (ToT) for the agricultural extension workers who obligated to continue the skills and materials to farmers and colleagues in their regions. Aims of this research:1. Understanding participants assessment of ToT on adaptation strategy of climate change for agricultural extension workers in Jeneponto district, South Sulawesi, 2. Analizing participant’s assessment to materials and speakers. This research applied mix-methods (quantitative and qualitative) by doing survey and observation. Research findings: 1) Participants gave positive evaluation to organization of ToT due to this program is a new strategy to cope with the climate change impact. 2) Participants gave high score (4 or 5) to all materials with positive response to the speakers who deliver the materials by using tools as well as field practice.

Abstract

Child Friendly City is a program that aims to create an environment that can fulfill children's rights. One of the children's rights that must be given is the use of leisure time by providing public spaces that can be accessed by all children. The city of Bekasi is one of the cities that strives to create a Child-Friendly City, the commitment contained in the Regional Regulation of Bekasi City No. 13 of 2017. One of the efforts of the Bekasi City Government in fulfilling children's rights related to the utilization of leisure time by forming the Smart House Program. This study aims to analyze the Child Friendly City Policy in the City of Bekasi in the implementation of the Smart House Program as a public space for leisure time utilization. In this study a monitoring and evaluation process was carried out on the implementation of the Smart House Program in two sub-districts namely South Bekasi District and East Bekasi District. The paradigm used is constructivism with qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques by conducting direct observation, in-depth interviews and literature studies. The informant recruitment technique used was purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The results of this study state that the implementation of the Smart House Program as the provision of public space in the utilization of leisure time in both sub-districts is still not optimal, so that the impact felt by children is less significant. This is because some centers do not work in these two Smart Houses, children can only take advantage of facilities located on the outside of the Smart House such as: play facilities, pavilion and field.

Abstract

Increasingly developing technology, The Indonesian Commuter Train Company is required to maintain and improve services. This is a step that must be taken as the only provider of rail services in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas. With the increasing number of choices of types of urban transportation services provided to the community, efforts to continue to make service improvements are imperative. This study analyzes the quality of service provided by The Indonesian Commuter Train Company at Cikarang Station from the passengers perspective. This research applies quantitative methods with survey data collection techniques through questionnaires. The population chosen was the commuter train service users at Cikarang Station with a sample of 100 respondents. The sampling technique used Simple Random Sampling. This study applies five SERVQUAL indicators. Data analysis was performed descriptively, Importance Performance Analysis, and Customer Satisfaction Index. The results of the study show that the service at Cikarang Station is already "Very Good" and the results of the Customer Satisfaction Index analysis obtained are 91%, which means the customer is "Very Satisfied".

Abstract

Human resources who have value and creativity that can easily adapt to technological advances. To produce good human resources, of course, the government does various ways, one of which is to require 12-year schools for the community with the aim of producing human resources that have quality and quantity that are able to compete. With the COVID-19 pandemic, people are forced to do all activities at home, including teenagers. Even though at this age, teenagers need direct interaction with the community so that they can shape the character of the teenager. The formation of adolescent character can be formed through various activities, one of which is by participating in organizational activities. In organizational activities, of course there are conditions where each member is required to be able to speak in public or public speaking. The method used in this research is in the form of counseling and training on public speaking and the formation of youth organizations. The result of this research is that there is a change and increase in knowledge and addition of youth in the organization, and tend to have the courage to convey ideas in public and the formation of an organization for youth.

Abstract

President Jokowi made public communication related to Covid-19 on March 2, 2020. Government communication in this crisis has become a challenge because since that moment the public's response and assessment began. In the early stages, public communication carried out by the government was still in the perspective of Crisis Communication, various kinds of confusion of information began to emerge, the public became doubtful about the truth of the scattered data. Furthermore, the World Health Organization recommends handling Covid-19 from the perspective of Risk Communication which is considered more comprehensive and effective in building communication to the public. For this reason, this study intends to evaluate Government Public Communication in Handling Covid-19 in a Risk Communication Perspective. This study uses qualitative research methods, applies a phenomenological research design by searching for data through observation and in-depth interviews through the application of purposive sampling by determining key informants from the government, communication experts, and the community. Secondary data collection is also carried out through journals, websites, webinar presentations, YouTube, social media, and online media portals. The results showed that the transformation of Government Public Communication from Crisis Communication to Risk Communication was carried out not only because of a request from the World Health Organization as an evaluation of government-run communication but also as a form of improving the Indonesian government's communication strategy in handling covid-19 which at first it was considered not alert and fast in preventing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. In addition, the success of Risk Communication cannot be separated from the active engagement of the community in helping the government produce and disseminate information content that is attractive, trustworthy, and accountable.

Abstract

Abstrak Media sosial membentuk jaringan isu dan berbagi ide yang kemudian dihubungkan sehingga berkembang luas dan cepat. Masyarakat kemudian menjadikan media sosial sebagai media informasi kritis yang menjadi basis preferensi dalam menentukan sikap politik mereka. Inilah peluang positif bagi Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Kota Bekasi untuk memberikan informasi terkini dan terpercaya kepada warganet, khususnya pemilih di Kota Bekasi, untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang menyeluruh tentang Pemilu 2019. Penelitian ini menguraikan lebih lanjut tentang Strategi Pengelolaan Media Sosial KPU Kota Bekasi dalam Menyebarluaskan Informasi Pemilu 2019. Penelitian ini menerapkan paradigma konstruktivisme dengan metode penelitian kualitatif. Cara memperoleh data melalui Wawancara Mendalam dengan tiga orang Komisioner KPU Kota Bekasi. Penentuan informan secara purposive sampling. Analisis data menerapkan Koding atas jawaban semua informan. Temuan Penelitian menggambarkan bahwa pengelolaan media sosial khususnya Facebook belum dilakukan secara maksimal. Hal tersebut terjadi karena keterbatasan Pengetahuan Dalam Mengelola Media Sosial, Keterbatasan Sumber Daya Manusia, dan Keterbatasan Sumber Anggaran yang dialokasikan baik oleh Pemerintah Pusat melalui KPU Republik Indonesia maupun Pemerintah Daerah Kota Bekasi. Fakta tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa media sosial belum dianggap sebagai media komunikasi yang strategis untuk dimanfaatkan selama Pemilihan Umum 2019 di Kota Bekasi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran tentang praktik pengelolaan media sosial oleh institusi publik, khususnya KPU Kota Bekasi. Kata kunci: Media Sosial; Pemilu 2019; Strategi Komunikasi Abstract Social media forms a network of issues and share ideas which are then linked so that it grows widely and quickly. The community then makes social media a critical information medium which becomes the basis of preferences in determining their political attitudes. This is a positive opportunity for the Bekasi City Election Commission to provide updated and reliable information to citizens, especially voters in Bekasi City, to get a thorough understanding of the 2019 Election. This study further describes the Social Media Management Strategy of the Bekasi City KPU in Disseminating Information on the 2019 Election. This applies the constructivism paradigm with qualitative research methods. How to obtain data through in-depth interviews with three KPU commissioners in Bekasi City. Determination of informants by purposive sampling. Data analysis used coding on the answers of all informants. The results illustrate that social media management, especially Facebook, has not been implemented optimally. This occurs due to limited knowledge in managing social media, limited human resources, and limited budget resources allocated by the central government through the Indonesian Election Commission and the Regional Government of Bekasi City. This fact shows that social media has not been considered a strategic communication medium to be used in the 2019 Election in Bekasi City. This research is expected to provide an overview of the practice of social media management by public institutions, especially the General Election Commission Bekasi city. Abstract

Teenagers are people who are very consumptive in using their pocket money. A teenager's financial expenditure is influenced by the teenager's own desire to spend it. One of the causes is the influence of peers and the lifestyle they live. Managing finances since adolescence is an important thing to do, but there are still many teenagers who have not been able to manage their finances properly. This can happen because of the psychological aspects of teenagers who are just growing up and influences from outside themselves. The purpose of this financial management socialization activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of youth in managing personal finances effectively. The methods used in community service activities are mediation, socialization and training on the use of applications. The result of this activity is an increase in adolescent knowledge regarding how to manage finances. There is also an increase in knowledge related to data in investing in adolescents.
